The Sugar Bowl blog has been restarted and today's card is for the November "Anything Goes" challenge.
I have a Christmas card for you today using the Sugar Nellie digital My Friend Flakey image which I printed onto Copics X-Press It card stock. After cutting out with Spellbinders Nestabilities, I colored with Copic Markers, adding some Ranger Diamond Stickles on the snow man and snow. The image was combined with patterned paper from the Bazzill Basics Countdown to Christmas pad. The sentiment is an older Verve stamp which I stamped onto a banner shape. I cut the snowflake using a die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes set.

I placed the images onto to the scene attaching twine to the sled for Grace to pull along. The sentiment from the Sweetest Season Sentiment set was stamped directly onto the scene panel. Twine tied around the image panel, Ranger Liquid Pearls on the buttons on Grace's coat and a couple of jewels provided the finishing touches.

It's TCP Tuesday challenge time at The Cat's Pajamas and Wendy is our hostess for this rotation with a sketch challenge.
I added another masculine Christmas card to my stash by stamping one of the snowmen from the Let the Flakes Fly set onto the tag shape as well as the sentiment and musical notes. I actually cut the tag with the free Sketch Cutables from Neenah Classic Crest card stock. I added some twill at the top of the tag and then anchored it to the patterned paper background with buttons. I wrapped Black Hemptique cord around the border piece and anchored with a button. After attaching the tag to the card background I added a couple more buttons. All the patterned paper came from the My Mind's Eye Sleigh Bells Ring pad.

Belated Birthday Wishes
I took a break from Christmas card making with today's card which is for the October Viva la Verve Sketch Week 4 sketch challenge. I have found that the secret to getting all the sketches for the month completed is to get them done on the weekend after they are posted on Friday. If I wait to later on the week, time seems to get away from me. Of course that is not always possible but it is definitely working for me this month.
I stamped the large cupcake from the Verve Small Packages set, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I also stamped the small cupcake and pennant from the same set, cutting out with the matching Cupcake Frame Die set and then colored with Copics as well. After wrapping twine around the largest cupcake, I clustered all the stamped pieces together on a circle, placing dimensional dots underneath all. After stamping the sentiment onto the patterned paper strip, I added a few enamel dots.
Products: Verve stamps and dies, Fancy Pants and Avery Elle dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT die, Copic Markers
Copics: Large Cupcake-B0000, B000, B01, B04; Small Cupcake-RV00, R81, R83, R85; Cupcake Liners-Y0000, Y11, Y13; Pennant-YR01, YR12, YR14, YG0000, YG01, YG13
Have a great weekend! It's football Saturday here again so I hope to get a few crafty things done while watching games.

I wrapped cording around the patterned panel and added a cluster of leaves cut with the Paper Smooches Large Leaves Dies anchored with a button. Star of Wonder
Today's card is for the October Viva la Verve Sketch Week 3 sketch.
All those circles in the sketch threw me at first. I thought of several ways to use them, finally discarded all ideas and went back to my original thought. I first cut the background panel from Bazzill Basics Textured card stock using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched rectangle. I also cut the diagonal piece from Hawaiian Shores card stock and then stamped the sentiment from the Verve Star of Wonder set. Apparently this set is retired because I couldn't find it in the Verve shop. I hope not though as it is one of my favorite sets. I cut the various stars from Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse and Poppy Red card stock scraps using the Verve Starry Die set. And since I can't seem to make a card without using some type of embellishment, I topped the stars with pearls.
Products: Verve stamp and dies, PTI and Bazzill cs, Kaisercraft pearls, Simon Says ink
Have a great week!

O Holy Night
I have another Christmas card today that I created for the current Merry Monday Silent Night (#130) Challenge.
This challenge gave me a great excuse to break out my new Paper Smooches A Blessed Christmas stamp set. I stamped the angel onto Neenah Classic Crest Natural White card stock, cut out with the matching Blessed Icons Dies and colored with Copic Markers. I cut the old world city from muted gold card stock from my stash using the Paper Smooches Cityscape 1 Die. I attached both to a panel cut from October Afternoon patterned paper using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched die. The sentiment was stamped with Stampin' Up Midnight Muse ink onto a circle cut a My Favorite Things Pierced die. Both the angel and sentiment were attached with dimensional dots. Ranger Patina and Diamond Stickles were added to the angel wings.
Products: Paper Smooches stamps and dies, October Afternoon dp, Neenah cs, Ranger Stickles, My Favorite Things die, Stampin' Up ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E11; Hair-YR30, YR31, Y21; Dress-B41, B91, B93; Wings-W00, E81
It's another football Saturday around here but I will definitely work in some stamping too.

You Bring Me Joy
Today's card is pulling double duty today as I used the sketch from the Retro Sketches Challenge (RS#136) for the layout plus it also fits the Hope You Can Cling To (Hope Floats) Challenge (HYCCT1402) going over at Splitcoaststampers. Splitcoaststampers has paired up with the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive benefiting those affected by breast cancer.
I cut the tag with the Paper Smooches Stitched Tag die from Neenah Classic Crest Natural White card stock. I stamped the lily pad from the Lawn Fawn Hello Baby set with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink, masked it and then stamped the leaves using MFT Sour Apple and the cattail using Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar ink. I stamped the frog separately, colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I placed the frog on the lily pad image using dimensional tape underneath the head to give it some lift. I added a flower cut with The Cat's Pajamas Flower Button CutUps covered with Yellow Ranger Stickles and Hemptique twine at the tag top. I combined the tag with papers from the Pebbles Family Ties pad and stamped the sentiment from the The Cat's Pajamas Words of Love set. A Doodlebug enamel dot in the flower center and a smattering of Doodlebug sequins finished it up.
Products: Lawn Fawn stamp, The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, PTI and Neenah cs, Doodlebug enamel dot and sequins, Hemptique cord, Ranger Stickles, MFT and Memento ink, Copic Markers

When Life Hands You Lemons
Today's card is a clean and simple one for the October Reverse Confetti Sketch Challenge #17.
I've been working with so many Halloween, Fall and Christmas colors that it was nice to go back to some sunshiny fresh colors. Not that I don't love the holiday colors because I do.
I started out by stamping the three leaves and two lemons from the Reverse Confetti Fresh 'n Fruity set onto white card stock and then cut them out with the matching Fresh 'n Fruity dies. I attached to a circle cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics using dimensional dots underneath the top lemon. I added the strips of patterned paper from the Avery Elle The Brights Collection and Simple Stories DIY Boutique pads, plus a small scalloped piece in a contrasting color. After attaching the image piece, I stamped the sentiment directly to the card base and then added some Doodlebug sequins to finish it up.
Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, Avery Elle and Simple Stories dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug sequins, Simon Says (Black), Studio Calico (Lime Light) and Stampin' Up (Daffodil Delight) inks

The Cat's Pajamas {TCPTUES277} Inspiration Challenge
It's TCP Tuesday challenge time at The Cat's Pajamas and I am the hostess for this rotation with an inspiration challenge.
If you attended The Cat's Pajamas pre-release Pajama Party at Splitcoaststampers, then you might have caught a look at this project. I was drawn to the party theme of the inspiration photo so I made a party in the box with the Card in a Box Cutable. The party attendees include the characters from the Boo Y'all, Eat, Drink and Be Scary and Brains! sets. I used the free matching cutables to faux fussy out the images and then colored with Copic Markers. I gave the bunny a "piercing" with a jump ring and then added the sentiment from the Boo Y'all set, stamping onto a circle with Versamark and then heat embossed with Ranger embossing powder. For the front flap I used an older Martha Stewart paper doily, stamping the spiders from the Vintage Halloween set directly onto it and then attaching the spider web from the same set, stamped onto purple cardstock, heat embossed with Black Diamonds embossing powder and fussy cut out.
For the left flap, I stamped another sentiment from the Boo Y'all set onto the label from the Fancy Flip CutUps which I turned into a grave marker, adding a bit of grass at the bottom cut with the Grass CutUps. I perched two birds to the top cut with The Birds CutUps from black card stock and then covered with Ranger Black Diamonds Stickles.
For the right flap, I cut label from one of the pieces from the Framed Up CutUps, stamped the image from the Vintage Halloween set with Versamark and then heat embossed with Recollections Lime Green Embossing Powder. I added more birds to the center cut with The Birds CutUps from black card stock and then covered with Ranger Black Diamond Stickles.
Lastly for the back, I added some purple slime with the Slime/Icicles CutUps and a sentiment from Eat, Drink and Be Scary set stamped onto the label from the Fancy Flip CutUps and then matted using the matching piece from the Fancy Flips Frames.
Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, CutUps and Cutables, Bella Blvd and Ki Memories dp, Queen and Co Embellishments, Martha Stewart paper doily, Ranger Black Diamonds Stickles and Embossing Powder, Recollections embossing powder, Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics:
Mummy-E000, E000, E13, W00, E81, E37
Bunny-W00, E81, C00, C1, C3, C5, V01, V12, V15, V17, Y11, Y13, Y15
Frankenstein-YG0000, YG01, YG25, N1, N3, N5, YR01, YR12, YR14, YR16, C00, C1, C3, V01, V12

Keep Shining
Wow, the blog has been busy the past few days! I have yet another challenge card today. This one is for the October Viva la Verve Sketch Week 2 sketch.
I stamped the verse from the Verve Shining Star onto a white circle and then another sentiment from the same set onto gray card stock. I placed some tone on tone stars onto the sentiment piece that I cut with a piece from The Cat's Pajamas Holiday Toppers. The banner was created with The Cat's Pajamas Bitty Banners CutUps using the same gray card stock. The patterned paper came from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color pad.
Products: Verve stamps, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, Kaisercraft jewel, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Simon Says cs and ink
I will be sending this to a young man who plays football for The University of Alabama. He suffered a horrible injury in a game (and was kicked in the head by an Ole Miss player while he was laying on the ground obviously in tremendous pain). He will be out for the season but it looks like he might actually be able to come back next year if he wants to play again. We are blessed to have some of the finest orthopedic surgeons in the world practicing in Birmingham and they did a fantastic job with him. I just wanted to send him a card of encouragement. I know all too well how hard physical therapy can be having been through it several times in my life. Of course it had to be in Crimson Tide colors!

Don't Let Anything Dull Your Sparkle
Today's card is pulling double duty today as I used the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (FMS157) for the layout as well at the Hope You Can Cling To (Teddy Bear for My Sister) Challenge (HYCCT1406) going over at Splitcoaststampers. Splitcoaststampers has paired up with the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive benefiting those affected by breast cancer.
I colored up the image from The Cat's Pajamas Catch My Drift set with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I prepared the background by using Dots CutUps to emboss the dots rather than cut them. I combined patterned papers from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color pad for the image panel, stamping the sentiment from the Rise and Shine set on a card stock strip. I cut the cloud using the Cloud Border and the stars from the 3x3 Stars CutUps and then covered them with Ranger Frosted Lace and Yellow Stickles.

I attached all to a circle cut with My Favorite Things die from white cardstock (for the snowy hill) and patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day Petite pad. After attaching all the images to the circle to set the scene, I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base and also another ornament which I colored with Copics and added a few Doodlebug enamel dots to finish it up. I am entering this for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #91 to use patterned paper.
Products: Lawn Fawn stamps and dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT die and ink, Simon Says ink, Copic Markers

Great News!
I've been about to bust with the news that I am now on the Purple Onion Design Team!
So of course, I had to make a card to celebrate. It's another Christmas card, this time using the cutie patootie Charlotte the mouse (a Stacey Yacula image) which I colored with Copics and then fussy cut out. Although Charlotte was not really a Christmas image, I combined her with the Doodle Frame-Christmas Trees (a Stephanie Ackerman design). I cut away the frame portion and then colored the trees with Copic Markers, adding Ranger Yellow Stickles on the stars and Silver on the garland for some shine and sparkle. I attached both images to a Doodlebug patterned paper circle cut with a My Favorite Things pierced circle die, using dimensional dots underneath the mouse. The patterned paper came from the Doodlebug Frosty Friends pad. I couldn't find the sentiment I wanted in my stamp stash so I computer generated one.
Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, Doodlebug dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, Ranger Stickles, MFT die, Copic Markers
Copics: Mouse-C00, C1, C3, BG10, BG13, BG15, W00, E81; Trees-YG0000, YG01, YG23, BG10, BG13, BG15, B21, B23, B26, V12, V15, V17
Michele is one of the nicest people in the industry and I can't wait to get started! You can read my introduction on the Purple Onion Designs blog.

Merry & Bright
I have another Christmas card today using the neon colors of the current Merry Monday #129 Christmas Challenge. It's been weeks since I've had a chance to play and it feels good to get back in the Merry Monday saddle so to speak.
I first cut a white rectangular piece using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mat die. I stamped the lines from the Wplus9 Heartfelt Mix set and then various snowflakes from the Wplu9 Folk Art Flurries all in bright ink colors. I stamped the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Tag-Its #8 set onto a circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities circle and then stamped two ornaments from the My Favorite Things Ornament Banner Builder onto pieces cut with the matching Ornament Banner Builder Die-namics. I also cut and attached two snowflakes cut from Hawaiian Shores card stock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes. The inks used were Studio Calico Lime Light and Memento Tangelo and Rose Bud. All the snowflakes were topped with Kaisercraft jewels.
Products: Wplus9 stamps, PTI cs and sentiment stamp, MFT stamps and dies, Bazzill cs, Kaisercraft jewels, Lil Inker Designs dies, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Studio Calico and Memento inks
It's another football Saturday around here so I'm hoping to get some stamping and coloring done with one eye on the television.

Halloween Gift Set
If you were around when we were posting The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks you saw this gift set I created for my granddaughters. Today I have another another Halloween Cookie Baking set for yet another set of granddaughters. I actually shared this at the The Cat's Pajamas pre-release Pajama Party at Splitcoaststampers but not here on the blog.
First up, I made a belly band for the cookie cutters (from Sur la Table) using a combination of Spellbinders Nestabilties (black and white) , the largest frame from the FancyFlip Frames (bright orange) and the Star Rosette CutUps (green) to cut the centerpiece which I attached together with an oversized brad from my stash.
I used the matching Cutables Brains! set in my Silhouette to cut out the mummy. After stamping the image onto the cut out I colored with Copic Markers. I combined this fun image with the new Pop-Up Treat Holder Cutables that I cut with a Silhouette. I resized to fit my Portrait Silhouette but also made a couple of more changes since I wanted to use mine for a Halloween themed mini spatula rather than candy. I added an extra cut to the bottom of the treat card so I could insert the spatula through it. I had to forgo the "pop up" part due to the fact that I couldn't get any type of adhesive to stick to the mini spatula so it's more of a paintbrush style cover. I stamped the matching sentiment onto a piece cut with the smallest die from the Circus Panel CutUps and attached it inside the treat card. I also added "slime" which I cut with the Slime/Icicles CutUps and then adhered the mummy to the front. Lastly I tied a bow around the spatula handle.
For the icing tubes, I made a bag topper using a combination of dies from the Framed Up 2 CutUps, Fancy Flip and FancyFlip Frames, stamping the sentiment from the Eat, Drink and Be Scary set.
Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, CutUps and Cutables, Ki Memories dp, Bazzill cs, Doodlebug ribbon, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E11; Mummy-W00, E81
Have a great day. Thanks so much for stopping by!
