Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

Today's card is for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks "anything goes" challenge. I stamped the birch trees from the Autumn Groves set four times and also nine of the leaves, colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I placed the trees on the embossed background panel alternating the single and double trunks. I colored the leaves to represent the colors of the season - purple for winter, pink for spring, green for summer and orange for fall and placed them accordingly. I substituted the autumnal sentiment from the set with the Verve Every Season sentiment stamped with Simon Says Black ink.

Products: Paper Smooches stamp, Verve stamp, PTI button and cs, Bazzill cs and embossing folder, Stampin' Up cs, Simon Says and Memento inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Trees-W00, E81, W1, W2, W5; Leaves-BV000, BV00, BV01, R81, R83, R85, G20, G43, G46, YR01, YR12, YR14

Although all the seasons are represented here, in my heart I am saying "is it spring yet?"

TCP Tuesday - 3-2-1 Challenge

It's time for another TCP Tuesday Challenge. I hope you are enjoying the weekly challenges! Kimberly is our hostess this week and she has challenged us with a 3-2-1 Challenge. Use 3 different patterned papers, 2 different types of embellishments (die cuts, buttons,  brads, gems, pearls, etc.) and 1 type of twine, seam binding or ribbon.

I stamped up the Got Love set, colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. I combined it with 3 papers from the Fancy Pants Beloved pad, placing the image on the panel with dimensional dots. I added the scallops to the border piece which I cut with the Queen of Hearts CutUps and then wrapped Peppermint Divine Twine around it anchored with a button. A scattering of sequins completed the design.

Home

Good morning. I have a bright and cheery card for you today featuring this month's Reverse Confetti Color Challenge of Orange, Yellow and Aqua. These colors definitely do not say it's January!

I started out by stamping the image from the Reverse Confetti Go Together Keywords set with Stampin' Up Coastal Cabana ink and then fussy cut out. I attached it to the background panels with dimensional dots. The diagonal striped paper was cut with the banner shape from the Tag Me set although I lengthened it. I cut the two arrows using the Arrow die, trimming the end off the aqua one to make it shorter. I topped the arrows with a couple of hearts cut with the Love Note die set. I used a variety of patterned papers from Fancy Pants, Lawn Fawn, Simple Stories and My Mind's Eye pads along with four different card stock brands. I finished the design with a scattering of matted enamel dots. Despite all the products, I still wound up with a fairly clean and simple design.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, My Mind's Eye and Lawn Fawn dp, PTI, Bazzill and MFT cs, Stampin' Up cs and ink, Doodlebug enamel dots, Paper Studio embossing folder

These colors reminded me of the Mexican Screwdriver Shooters I made last weekend. They were so pretty I took a photo.

I hope your week is off to a great start. I hope to see you back here tomorrow.

Warmest Wishes

Today's card is a wintery Christmas card that I created this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#91) which is to include a snowman.

I'm still working through the Christmas stamps I purchased but didn't get time to use. Like this one, the ever so cute Winterberry by Purple Onion Designs. After coloring him up with Copic Markers, I fussy cut him out and then placed him onto a piece cut with the Reverse Confetti Love Note die. The sentiment came from the C.C. Designs AmyR Christmas Sentiments II set. I added a layered snowflake cut with the C.C. Designs It's Snowing Cutters and a couple of buttons as accents. All the patterned paper came from the Bo Bunny Winter Wonderland pad.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamp, C.C. Designs sentiment and Cutters, Bo Bunny dp, PTI buttons, Reverse Confetti die, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, E84, E40, E41, B91, B93, B97

Have a great weekend! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Getting Back into the Groove

I've had a tough time getting back in the swing of things creatively speaking. I craft in my dining room so it was necessary to put everything away during the holidays. It's been difficult getting everything back out especially since I stuffed things in every out of sight nook and cranny I could! I keep finding things I am missing which is not conducive to getting anything done.

Here I am with a Christmas card even though, like most of you, I am pretty glad to see it over and done. But, I did promise myself that I would get more completed throughout the year so I'm not so overwhelmed in December like I was this year. Plus frankly, I really didn't get to use some of new goodies I purchased during the season. This week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#90)  to use ribbon or twine and Simons Says Wednesday Challenge (ice inspiration) provided the perfect excuse to get started.

If you remember from some of my December cards I fell in love with the American Crafts Silver Glitter paper and used it a lot. I didn't see the gold version until I went into the local Paper Source. I snatched it up and also bought a spool of their gold ribbon which matched it perfectly. I don't normally buy much there as everything is usually overpriced in my opinion. I guess the smell of gold glittery paper went to my head!

I cut the gold panel using The Cat's Pajamas Holiday Toppers CutUps for the snowflake border at the bottom and then tied the bow around it. I cut the snowflake from an off white glittery paper that I found at Michaels using the Simon Says Eliza Snowflake. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Holiday Hellos set with Delicata Golden Glitz ink onto a piece from the Reverse Confetti Tag Me dies. A smattering of gold and white sequins provided the finishing touch. My photograph gave the gold paper a brassy look that is not there in real life. It's a really pretty spun gold.

Products: Simon Says stamp and die, American Crafts Glitter paper, Paper Source ribbon, Delicata ink, Darice sequins, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Reverse Confetti die

I promise things will pick up around here soon.

I {Heart} You

Welcome to the first TCP Challenge of 2014 for The Cat's Pajamas. We have a little surprise for you in that we are going back to a weekly challenge. Our fabulous group of designers will take turns hosting a challenge and I am first up.

To get us off to a great start the challenge is "anything goes". That's right, as long as you use at least one TCP product, it's all about what you want to do this week!

I decided to go with a Valentine/Love theme; afterall, Valentine's Day will be here before you know it. My card features the Ewe Complete Me set. I adore this sweet couple! After coloring with Copic Markers, I fussy cut it out. The card base was cut with heart shaped Spellbinders Nestabilities and I added a bit of patterned paper from the Echo Park Yours Truly pad from a couple of years ago and a white lacy border cut with the Queen of Hearts CutUps. The sentiment was stamped onto a small speech bubble cut with the Talk to Me CutUps set. The hardest thing about this project was to figure out how to get it to stand up so I could get a decent photograph.

C.C. Designs/Sweet November - The Birds

It's the last day of  the C.C. Designs January previews. Today's card features The Birds set by Sweet November.

After coloring up the images, I added the sentiment from the also new AmyR Adoring You sentiment set directly onto the image panel and added a scattering of small hearts using the new Hearts and Arrows Cutters. After attaching to the card I secured another heart and arrow cut with the same set onto the panel using dimensional dots. I kept the color scheme fresh and light by using patterned paper from the Fancy Pants Wonderful Day pad.
