From Far Away

*** This is my second post for the day - scroll down for my C.C. Designs for All That Scraps preview***

It has been ages since I had a chance to do a My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC69) as I've been busy with design team projects.....and life! I used Inspired by Lighthouses for this card. Although there wasn't a lot of Copic coloring on this one, I have to admit what you see was my second effort. I first had the night sky in shades of blue and frankly totally messed up on the dark to light direction. When I colored the second one I not only corrected the light source but also decided to use gray instead as it could represent fog as well as night.

C.C. Designs Preview - Bee-Trice

Welcome to the first day of several new stamp previews from All That Scraps. We are kicking things off with a brand new C.C. Designs collection, Beatrice. I fell in love with this new character instantly. I am featuring Bee-trice today.

Bee-trice was stamped onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I cut the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Super easy to color! I combined several paper lines including My Little Shoebox, Echo Park and My Mind's Eye and added several black accents to reinforce the bee theme.

Gardener Honey

Good morning. I hope you are having a great weekend so far. Today I'm sharing one of the newest C.C. Designs Digital stamps, Gardener Honey. She is just one of three new Honey digitals

I first sized the image down to a bit smaller and then printed onto Copics X-Press It with my Epson printer. I  waited about 20 minutes before actually cutting and coloring to ensure that the ink was completely dry. She was then colored with Copic markers and I added a flower to her hair. The main image was matted onto a frilly paper doily and combined it with some bright and happy October Afternoon patterned paper. Some butterflies cut with the C.C. Designs Butterflies dies, buttons, pearls and ribbon provided the finishing touches.

C.C. Designs Review - All About Mom

***This is my second post for the day. Please scroll to the next post for The Cat's Pajamas Blog Hop project***

Today is review day on the All That Scraps blog and I am joining the rest of the All That Scraps design team members.  My cards feature the All About Mom sentiment set from C.C. Designs. What a great versatile set! I did five different cards using this group of stamps, most of which were donated to Operation Write Home.

My first card features one of the simpler sentiments in the set which was stamped onto a flag shape which I converted to a tag. The main panel contains just bits of stamping, actually the flowers from last month's Spring Has Sprung set and then lots of die work. I stamped the Watering Can Logo onto patterned paper and cut out using the new Watering Can Cutter. All of which surround the fence cut with the Spooky Fence Cutter.

Copics: R30, R32, R22, YG0000, YG93, YG95

My second card is a super simple one with the sentiment as the center piece of the card. I left lots of "white space" yet added three corner decorative pieces using several of the the C.C.Designs Cutters including the Squiggle dies and Lock and Key combined with a My Favorite Things Die-namics Rolled Rose.

TCP Tuesday 207 Plus New Release Blog Hop

It is release day for The Cat's Pajamas! All seven of the new stamp sets and five fun new Cutups dies are available now from The Cat's Pajamas shop.

Since it is release day that also means a blog hop. I hope you arrived here from Jenny's blog where I am sure she had something fabulous and oh so creative for you to enjoy. If not, head on over to Julie's blog to start at the beginning. Julie is this week's TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES207) challenge hostess which is to include flowers on your project.

It is a rarity for me but today's card does not feature any stamping with the exception of the sentiment which is from the Simply Said set (a very good set to own by the way). I really wanted to showcase the new Window Panes CutUps as it was my favorite die set in the new collection.  I especially like it because the also includes four small dies of which I have used three on this project, the cat, bird and clay pot.

I was really going for a "barn" look on this so I used the distressed wood panel paper for the barn and the darker version for the window. Most of the flowers came from the punchouts from the Lacy Floral CutUps die. I threaded them onto stems and inserted them in the clay pots allowing them to curl up into the window. Other flowers were scattered in the double layer of grass cut with the Grass Border CutUps. I perched the cat on the window sill and the bird at the top. I'm sure that kitty is admiring the flowers instead of eyeing the bird above. Right?

Enjoy Every Cuddle {The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek}

Woohoo! We've reach the final day of Sneak Peeks for the new TCP release. Today's set is one of the sweetest stamp sets ever. Quality Time totally tugs at my heart as I'm sure it will yours too.

I decorated up this image with a combination of paper piecing and coloring with Copics. Did you notice the lamp behind the sofa? I converted the vase and flowerpot dies from the new Window CutUps set to a lamp base and lamp shade and I even included a pull chain to turn the light on. I used two more of the new CutUps, Heart Border that you see I positioned vertically. The second new CutUps is the new Pom Pom Flower which I cut from a page ripped from an old paperback. I stamped the sentiment onto the smallest pieces from the Circus Panels CutUps.

I hope you will join us tonight in the TCP Forum at Split Coast Stampers for the Pajamas Party. There will be games, additional sneaky peeks and prizes!

Fun Tache Tic {The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek}

Welcome to another day of TCP Sneak Peeks! Today members of The Cat Pack are previewing another new graphic set, The Mustache Set. There are also a couple of new CutUps to go long with the 'stache theme, Mustaches (set of 4) and the Mustache Slide

The minute I saw this set I knew I wanted to use it to make my husband's Father's Day card. I cut a rectangle shape to represent a shirt and then used the small pennant shapes in the Pennant CutUps set for the collar points. I freehand drew the tie from the paisley paper, inking around the edges for more definition. I added buttons on the collar points and dug out some old gold letters representing my husband's initials since he wore a gold collar tac with this his intials most of his working life. I stamped the sentiment from the set onto a circle shape (I had to break it up to fit) and then added the mustache cutout with one of the pieces from the Mustaches CutUps.

If Hugs were Seas {The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek}

Welcome to another day of TCP Sneak Peeks! Today members of The Cat Pack are previewing the new Aye Aye Captain stamp set which features your favorite big eared bunny once again.

This may be my very favorite bunny set. Love the little rowboat and his captain's hat. I combined some older Echo Park paper with the new Doodlebug Boy's Only patterned paper for a color filled card. I used The Cat's Pajamas Wave CutUp for the water and a piece of the Cloud Border to make double cloud on which I stamped the sentiment. The Inside Pinking CutUp provided a bit of contrast. I used some twine found in my husband's tool area in the basement of which I tied some type of knot I found on the internet. A few bright buttons provided the finishing touches.

It's Not Easy Being Queen {The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek}

Good Morning! The Cat Pack along with the past three Swanky Stampers of the Month are joining in to preview the new Bubble Therapy set featuring the swankiest kitty of all, Sprinkle.

I colored up the image with Copics and then used a combo of Flower Soft and Ranger Glossy Accents to create the bubble effect in the tub. And since Sprinkle is having a spa day I gave her a hot pink loofah using the other half of the pom pom left over from yesterday's card (which was cut with the Pom Pom Flower CutUps).  The paper is a hodgepodge of Pink Paislee and older Ki Memories and Doodlebug.

You Make Me Smile {The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek}

Welcome to another day of TCP Sneak Peeks! Today the Cat Pack is previewing the new Bloom stamp set which features your favorite big eared bunny.

After coloring him up with Copic Markers, I cut him out and attached him to a circle background cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities. The patterned paper is from the new Fancy Pants Be You paper pad and I generally followed the April Sketch For You To Try for the layout. I used the also new for this release Pom Pom Flower CutUp to make the felt flower. I cut two pieces from yellow and pink felt, then cut then both in half. I rolled up the first piece in yellow for the center and then started rolling the pink portion at the end of the yellow piece resulting in a two toned flower (you will see the other half of the pink pom pom tomorrow!). The sentiment as well as some of the graphic flowers were stamped directly onto the paper.
