C.C. Designs Preview - Vampy Hansel and Devilish Lucy

***This is my second post for the day. Please scroll down to see my Sweet November preview. ***

Halloween cards are my very favorite themes to make. Which is odd as I only have a hand full of people I actually send these cards. Not sure what makes them a favorite - the colors for sure but more likely because Halloween is such a child centric holiday.

First up is Vampy Hansel. I used two of the new Cutters for this release, Bats and House on the Hill to create a vampire scene. I combined them with last years Pink Paislee Phantom collection. Small strips of paper from Jillbean Soup and some Washi tape completed the background. The sentiment is from the also new for August, Amy R Halloween Sentiment set.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Pink Paislee and Jillibean Soup dp, Sticker Shop Washi Tape, Ki Memories brads, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E00, R20; Hair-N1, N3, N5, N7; Clothing-YR12, YR16, YR18,C3, C5, C7, E81, W00

Next up is Devilish Lucy. Lucy looks too sweet to really be that devilish. I went way back in the stash for this, combining some older Scenic Route and Creative Imaginations with last year's Pink Paislee Phantom. Do you spot another new Cutters? That fun Corner Banner is new for this release as is the sentiment from the Amy R Halloween Sentiment set.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Pink Paislee, Creative Imaginations and Scenic Route dp, Fancy pants ribbon, PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Sweet November Preview - Witch Hazel

Welcome to the first of three days of August Sweet November previews. These fun Halloween images put me in the mood for the cooler temperatures of fall. Today's project features Hazel with Lucy.

Hazel was introduced last fall and she is back again this year riding around on her broom (well trying to anyway). I decided to place her on an A10 size card flipped landscape style and used some patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Phantom collection released last year.  I stamped the sentiment from the also new AmyR Halloween Sentiments set directly onto the image panel. I'm repeating myself from last year but I also used Baker's Twine to create the broom rather than coloring it in.

Products: Sweet November stamp, AmyR Sentiments, May Arts ribbon, Ki Memories jewels and paper clip, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair/Cat-N1, N3, N5, N7; Clothing-C3, C5, C7, YR20, YR23, YR24, YR27, YG01, YG03, YG23; Shadows-C00, C1

This collection will be available for purchase at the All That Scraps store Thursday, August 2 at 9 pm CDT. Be sure to also click on over to design team member Marion. Amy, the illustrator of the Sweet November line has a creative card to share with you and also outlines the details on how to win some blog candy which includes the stamp we are all using today. All you have to do is leave comments on our blogs.

C.C. Designs Preview - Bauregard Pencil and Beatrice Crayon

Welcome to the first day of several new August stamp previews from All That Scraps. It is too cool for school day. Beatrice now has a brother, named Bauregard. I specifically requested a boy and Christine was kind enough to draw up this little character. Cute, huh? We really do not have enough boys represented in the stamp world.

This particular image is Bauregard Pencil as illustrated by that oversized pencil he is carrying. I combined him with patterned paper from the Doodlebug Boys Only 6x6 pad. The sentiment is from the also new for this month C.C. Designs School Logos set.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, Doodlebug dp, Ki Memories paperclip and brad, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E30, E31, E33, E35, E57; Clothing-YG0000, G82, G85, BG11, BG72, BG75, B91, B95, B99; Pencil-R00, R01, R02, R05, C1, C3, C5, YR31, YR23, Y35, E30, E31, E33

My second card features Beatrice Crayon. I used Pebbles Sunny Side 6x6 pad which is probably one of my favorite paper collections ever. I combined it with another of the images from the C.C. Designs School Logos set that I cut with the C.C. Designs Ticket Cutters.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Pebbles dp, PTI buttons, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Christmas in July 15 - Wish U. Goodcheer

Today features Christmas in July #15 and the last one for this month. I will admit that midway through the process I had wished my goal had been 12 or even 10. But I made my goal of 15 and I'm rather proud of that. Fifteen represents approximately 1/4 of the total I need in December and with the handful I've made prior to July I think I am in good shape.

Since I started with this A10 size back on July 1, I thought I would end with it also. The image is Sweet November Wish U Goodcheer which I already used once this month.  The paper is Echo Park Season's Greetings. This pad is getting a bit thin too. I tend to over buy on paper so it feels good to know that I've gotten great use out of both Echo Park seasonal pads from last year.

Christmas Card Tip of the day: Try a different card size to shake things up.

Products: Sweet November stamp, Echo Park dp, Doodlebug jewels, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Memory Box die, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Snowman-BG0000, BG70; Scarf-YG0000, YG91, YG93, W00, E81; Hat-N1, N5, N7, R22, R24, R29; Ornaments-W00, E81, R22, R24, R29

I thought it would be fun to include all Christmas in July cards in one photo:

As always, I appreciate you for stopping by. Previews for All That Scraps tomorrow!

Christmas in July 14 - Very Merry

Welcome to Christmas in July #14. Snowmen images never fail to make me smile and this one from My Favorite Things certainly does. I surrounded Frosty and Fabulous with a traditional color scheme of green and red, adding some black accents with ribbon and the sentiment tag. I added pen highlights to the image panel with a Copic Multiliner pen using the edges as a guideline before I removed it from the Spellbinders Nestabilities die. My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge sketch (MFTWSC71) from weeks past provided the basic layout.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, Echo Park dp, May Arts ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Snowman-G0000, G000; Hat-N1, N5, N7; Scarf-R22, R24, R29; Nose-YR12, YR14, YR16; Shadows-BG70, BG0000

Christmas Card Tip of the day:  Highlight the edges of the image panel with a pen before removing it from the die for an instant frame.

Woohoo! Only one more to go!

By the way, I was the featured cardmaker over at the Operation Write Home blog on Friday. Check it out if you are interested.

Christmas in July 13 - Warm Wishes

Today features Christmas in July card #13. I used an image from the There She Goes Wonderful Winter Wishes set. I am embarrassed to admit that I've had this stamp set since last winter but never got around to using it. I've rectified that today and hope to make more using this really cute set. As you can, I didn't use a whole lot of colors on this one, repeating the white a lot in order to save time. I dont' think it detracts from the image one bit. I again used the Echo Park Holly Holly Christmas pad from last year. I only have a few sheets and scraps left of this. So glad to get my money's worth out of a paper pad. This is a small card, a 4 1/4 square.

Christmas Card Tip of the day: Limit your main image to a few hues for quicker coloring.

Products: There She Goes Stamp, Echo Park dp, May Arts ribbon and twine, Kaisercraft pearls, PTI sentiment stamp and tags, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Hair-E33, E35, E39; Clothing-R00, R01, R11, W00, E81; Snowman/Snow-W00, E81, YR12, YR14; Shadows-G0000

C.C. Designs Review - Ice Cream Lucy

Today is another review day on the All That Scraps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you the last of the projects using the July release stamps and dies.

My card features the new Swiss Pixie Ice Cream Lucy which I colored with Copic Markers and cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. The sentiment is from the new Sweet Treat Logos set, cut with the Ticket Cutters die. The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Summer Days pad from last year. A few colorful buttons and plain white ribbon provided the finishing touches. Easy and simple!

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and Cutters, Echo Park dp, PTI buttons, May Arts ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E31, E35, E37, E29; Clothing-Y21, Y23, Y35, RV10, RV11, RV14, RV17; Ice Cream Cone-E50, E51, E53, YR0000, YR01, YR04, YG21, YG23; Shadows-B0000, B000, BG0000, BG10

Life Begins After Coffee

Today's card is for the July Sketch For You to Try. I needed a quick birthday card for a male and the sketch fit the bill. I kept everything super simple as you can see. Center stage is an image from the Lil' Inker Designs Coffee Cozy Dies and Stamp set. After die-cutting the "cozy" portion, I ran it through a paper crimper to give it some texture. I combined everything with patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Prairie Hill collection. The fishtail tags were die cut using The Cat's Pajamas Easy Rosettes CutUps. No coloring on this one!

Products: Lil' Inker Designs stamps and dies, Pink Paislee dp, Memento Ink, PTI button, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Spellbinders Nestabilities

Christmas in July 11 - A Child is Born

Today's card represents Christmas in July card #11 which means that I am getting oh so close to my goal of 15. I used another design team stamp, C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Baby Jesus and Angel. I combined it with paper from Echo Park and Basic Grey. The glittered chipboard stars are some older My Mind's Eye pieces. I wanted to keep things simple so the image would be center stage.

Christmas Card Tip of the day:  Don't forget the reason for the season.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp, Echo Park and Basic Grey dp, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Hair-E30, E33, E57, E29; Dress-B93, B95, B97, B99, R56, R59, R89; Wings-E40, E41, E42; Manger-W00, W1, W3, W5; Swaddling Clothes-W00, E81; Straw/Floor-E50, E51, E53; Star-YR30, YR31; Shadows-C00, C1

Christmas in July 10 - Fa La La La La

Good morning. I have another Christmas in July card this weekend.  I used a sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge (MFTWSC65) as I am trying to catch up on those for the year.  The image is My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Christmas Caroler - one I purchased last Christmas but only got to use once I think. She's definitely too cute to be tucked away. I paired her up with paper from last year's Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas pad which I will probably use up by the end of the month.

Christmas Card Tip of the day:  Use die cuts to reinforce your theme.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, Echo Park dp, Kaisercraft pearls, PTI die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E30, E33, E35; Clothing-G40, G43, G46, E81, 0, E55, E57, E29; Shadows-G0000, G000

It's Christmas in July card # 9 today.  I used one of my design team stamps, C.C. Designs Snowman. I combined it with some Websters Pages Christmas paper from last year. I cut the felt mittens with the C.C. Designs Mittens Cutters attaching with a snowflake anchored by a button. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The snowflakes were leftover cutouts from past projects using The Cat's Pajamas Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps.

Christmas Card Tip of the day:  Use felt to add textural interest.

Christmas in July 8 - Beary Christmas (TCPTUES219)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES219) which is Susan's Stamp/CutUps challenge to use any "bear" stamp and either the Apron or Queen of Hearts Border CutUps. Since I am still working on my Christmas In July cards, I decided to use Big Bear, as he is a favorite and will always be in my Christmas rotation. I combined him with paper from the new Authentique Festive 6x6 pad and actually wound up using the Apron Border CutUps along with the Hearts Border which is different from the Queen of Hearts CutUps.  And if you look close I drew him a cute little heart with my Copic Multiliner pen and then colored in with Copics.

Christmas Card Tip of the day: Draw simple icons or pen-stitching to your stamp images for additional interest.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Authentique dp, PTI buttons, May Arts twill, Queen and Co. Rox, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, R22, R24, R27, E41, E41, E44

Today's card features Sugarplums Cupcake Trevor which was colored with Copic Markers and then cut out and attached to one of the photo mat pages from the Simple Stories Awesome 6x6 pad. I added a few stripes of Washi tape for some added interest.  The sentiment is from the AmyR Sweet Sentiments set. The extra cupcake was cut with the new Sweet Treats Cutters and a couple of pieces cut with the Squiggles Cutters provided the finishing touches.

Just Fur You

Good morning. I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. Mine was not so great as my back is really acting up again and it has limited my mobility, not to mention that it's quite depressing. Feels a bit better today so I'm hoping this episode is over.

I skipped the vacuuming to make a card instead. Afterall card making is much better for the back than housework don't you think?! I colored up this cutie from the My Favorite Things A-Mews Me set using this card by Michele  Boyer as inspiration for coloring the "tabby" stripes although I made mine a bit more subtle. I also generally followed this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch for the layout (MFTWSC80).

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, Echo Park dp, May Arts ribbon, Copic Markers
Copics: Kitty-W00, E81, W1, W2, R00, R20; Face-E000, E00, E11; Shadows-W00, YR0000, YR01

Christmas in July 7 - Wishing You a Joyful Christmas

Today I have Christmas in July card number 7. I used an older My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC76) for the layout. I combined the MFT Inspired by Christmas image with the brand new Authentique Festive 6x6 pad. So glad this came out prior to Summer CHA because I was actually in need of some new Christmas 6x6 papers. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of 12x12 Christmas paper - more than plenty as I could probably wallpaper this house with them!

For a change I did not color the image, simply stamping it onto one of the solid sheets from the pad and doing some wet embossing. The sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental about Christmas set. I kept everything simple so not to overwhelm the image.

Christmas Card Tip of the day: Do not color your image for a change of pace and quicker card making.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and Die-namics, Authentique dp, PTI buttons, Linen Thread, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Since it is the 14th I appear to be right on track with my goal of 15 Christmas cards by the end of the month.

Sweet November Mid-Month Release Preview Day 2

Welcome to the second and last day of previews for a surprise mid-month release of the Sweet November Little Bit of Magic Fairies and Little Bit of Magic Sentiment sets. These girls are so tiny and completely adorable. I had so much fun making projects with them and I think you will too. They are so quick and easy to color.

For today's card, I colored and fussy cut four of these girls and then placed them on  individual background rectangles. I added a big bow and then tucked in the sentiment piece, placing dimensional dots underneath.I kept to a monochromatic color scheme for the paper, ribbon and jewels.

Products: Sweet November stamps, My Mind's Eye dp, Doodlebug jewels, May Arts ribbon, PTI die, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, E11; Hair-E55, E57, E29, E30, E33, E39, C3, C5, C7, E50, E51, E53; Clothing-BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, Y11, Y13, Y17, YR12, YR14, YR18, RV00, RV13, RV14

Sweet November Mid-Month Release Preview Day 1

Welcome to previews for a surprise mid-month release of the Sweet November Little Bit of Magic  Fairy and Little Bit of Magic Sentiment sets. These little girls are itty bitty and oh so fairy sweet!

Both of my projects today are tag based and I also used the same paper pad, Pebbles Sunny Side for both. I teased on an earlier post that I might make all my projects from now on using these papers but it may be coming true after all!

For my first project I placed two of the fairies on a tag, leaning them against a tree. I stamped the sentiment onto a mini doily.  A Prima center, rhinestones and ribbon provided the finishing touches.

Products: Sweet November stamps, Pebbles and Echo Park dp, May Arts ribbon, Kaisercraft rhinestones, Prima center, My Favorite Things Die-namics, PTI dies, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E53, E55, E57 (left), E30, E33, E39 (left); Wings-W00, E81; Dress-RV00, RV13, RV14, W00, E81 (left), Y11, Y13, Y17 (right)

I used three of the fairies on my second card, coloring them up a bit different by making their hair and dress match. I positioned them all onto a tag with a cloud background, adding more white clouds using The Cat's Pajamas and My Favorite Things dies and layers of grass using the C.C. Designs Grass Border Cutters.

Products: Sweet November stamps, C.C. Designs Cutters, Pebbles dp, May Arts and American Crafts ribbon, Kaisercraft jewels, PTI die, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Copic Markers

Christmas in July 6 - (TCP Tuesday 218)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES218) which is a color challenge of Aqua, Red and Kraft selected by our hostess, Lori. I immediately thought of the colors from an older Cosmo Cricket pad Mitten Weather and as a result I now have Christmas in July card number 6 completed.

I stamped last winter's The Cat's Pajamas Peeking set, combining paper piecing and Copic coloring. I attached the image to a tag shape, placing a partial piece cut with the Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps underneath. The white snowflake was leftover from a prior project.  I had planned on using a real button at the top but since everything up to that point was flat and mail ready, I decided to go with a paper button instead. That will save me 20 cents in postage!

Christmas Card Tip of the day:  A touch of paper piecing combined with coloring adds a lot of interest to an image.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Cosmo Cricket dp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers
Copics: Bear-E40, E41, E42, R22, R24, R29; Gift-W00, E81, BG0000, G000, G00, BG10; Shadows-BG0000, BG70

Here are the Details for TCP Tuesday:
1. Each Tuesday we will give you a challenge which will be posted in the TCP forum on SCS first and subsequently on the Dancing in Pajamas blog.
2. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
3. Add your entry to the Inlinkz Gallery on Alma's blog or upload to the SCS Gallery, using the keyword TCPTUES218 for this week's challenge.
4. TCP stamps are not required for this challenge, but highly recommended.
5. There will be one randomly chosen weekly winner who will win a Gift Voucher for use on The Cat's Pajamas website. The announcement will be made when Alma posts the TCP Tuesday Challenge on her blog.

Good luck!
