The World is But a Canvas

I combined two sets of Reverse Confetti stamps to create today's card for two of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges going on over at Splitcoaststampers.  This creative and fun challenge week is open to Fan Club Members only. If you are not a member, it's not too late to join!  You can find all of that information here. This card represents two challenges from Lisa and Vicki.

From the Peacock Pretties set I stamped the sentiment in Memento London Fog ink and the peacock feather in Fresh Ink Pool. I also stamped the chevrons from the Arrows 'n Elements set in the same Fresh Ink Pool as the feather and one with Memento Pear Tart. I fussy cut out all the stamped images and placed in and around the polaroid type frame cut with the C.C. Designs Say Cheese Cutters set. All the patterned paper came the Fancy Pants Wonderful Day 6x6 pad except for the one strip of turquoise chevron pattern which came from the Simple Stories Sn@p Color Vibe pad. The card base was created with PTI Soft Stone cardstock. Some ribbon that actually came off a new garment tag, two Maya Road stickpins and a few Heidi Swapp jewels, one strip which was attached to a an arrow shape cut with Verve Arrow Die provided the finishing touches.

Sweet November Preview - Midnight's Mischief

Welcome to day one of August previews featuring Sweet November for C.C. Designs. This month features fun Halloween images, one of my favorite holidays.

Today's card features one of the images from the Midnight's Mischief set. I paper pieced the witch's hat then stamped the cat separately and colored with Copic Markers. I placed a dimensional dot underneath Mischief's head for added dimension. The Fancy Pants dp is only a couple of years old but I had to go way  back in my scrapbook stash for the much older Ki Memories paper as well as the Doodlebug ribbon. The sentiment is from last years C.C. Designs Halloween Sentiments set.

Products: Sweet November stamp, C.C. Designs sentiment stamp, Fancy Pants and Ki Memories dp, Queen and Co. Goosebumps, Doodlebug ribbon, MFT and PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Cat-N1, N3, N5, N7, R85; Shadows-BV0000, BV000, BV01

Be sure to check out the project that my fellow design team member Tress has created using this stamp.  Amy, the illustrator of the Sweet November line has a creative card to share with you and also outlines the details on a chance to win some blog candy. Sweet November Preview - Frannie

Welcome to another day of August previews featuring Sweet November for C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. This month features fun Halloween images, one of my favorite holidays.

Today's clean and simple card features Frannie. I decided to just add black and cream highlights rather than my usual color all over to give her a more ethereal look. I again went back into my scrapbook stash for some older products including the Making Memories acrylic piece and the velvet frame. The paper is from the My Mind's Eye Mischievous pad from a couple of seasons ago and the cardstock base is Bazzill Card Shoppe Peanut Cluster. I added two Queen and Co. Candy Stripers (licorice) embellishments as a finishing touch. My almost five year granddaughter declared her to be "adorable"!

Welcome to the first day of the C.C. Designs Rubber Designs August stamp release! The Design Team has some fabulous primarily Halloween projects to show you over the next five days, featuring some brand new C.C. Designs illustrators too.

Today's card features the only non Halloween image offered this month, Book Abigail. Abigail is a girl after my own heart as I have always loved to read. I colored the image with Copics and then fussy cut out, placing her onto a tag cut with notebook themed paper. All of the paper used came from the Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal 6x6 pad. I kept the embellishments simply with a smattering of sequins and a foam button from my scrapbook stash. The cardstock is Bazzill Card Shoppe Candy Necklace

Spread Your Wings and Fly

I hope your weekend is off to a good start.

Warning, I colored the There She Goes Penelope and Birdcage image under the influence of cold medicine. But it's cold medicine that seems to be helping so I will stick with it. I created the card using this week's There She Goes Sketch (TSG217) for the layout. Since I converted the sketch to an A2 size rather than a square I had to move the sentiment to the bottom of the image panel. I used a couple of My Favorite Things Die-namics sets for the border/paper bow treatment and the sentiment label.

Products: There She Goes stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, Kaisercraft pearls, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-YR30, YR31, E53; Clothing-W00, E81, N1, N3, N5, N7; Wings-YG0000, YG21, YG13; Bird-Y0000, Y11, Y21
Spectrum Noirs: Clothing-PP3, PP5, DR3

I hope to see you back here tomorrow for the start of the August C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps previews including Sweet November.

Hello

So sorry for the bloggie absence. We were on a beach vacation last week. And unfortunately when I returned home with what I thought was simple sinus congestion turned out to be a full blown, raging, kick-me-in-the-butt, summer cold. I mean really, how does that happen? I have gotten progressively worse as the week has gone by.

I've also had to catch up on some design team work - thankfully, I had colored a few images before I left for the beach or I would be in real trouble with deadlines. I also had an ATC swap to complete which I finished up yesterday. Plus loads and loads of laundry, the regular house stuff, etc. I hit a wall last night and went to bed around 10 which is about 4 hours before I normally get there. I woke up very early this morning unable to breath. It was easier to just get up rather than struggle to breath in between coughing spells. Summer colds are just the worst. And yes, I am aware that I am whining.

I did find one card in my folder that I could share although it does not feature any coloring. I have been trying to use up some of my scrapbook stash and I just happened to notice one day that this Cosmo Cricket chipboard piece from several years ago looked great with the My Mind's Eye On the Sunny Side patterned paper. I added a pennant flag cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics for the sentiment. I dug out my metal rim tags and placed the Studio Calico Veneer bicycle on it. Easy!

Products: My Mind's Eye dp, Cosmo Cricket dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics and sentiment set, Studio Calico Veneer, PTI button

I promise the blog will have more activity next week. C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps including Sweet November previews start on Sunday!

Life Does Not Have to be Perfect (TCP Tuesday)

I have another TCP Tuesday challenge project today which is to use a handmade tag on your project.

I love tags so this challenge has been a fun one for me. I started out by embossing my background panel with a new Cuttlebug folder (Charles). I then created my tag by using two of the Toppers CutUps,  finishing it up with a large bow and then attaching it to the background panel with double-sided tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Life's a Beach set onto a piece cut with the Circus Panels CutUps and layered it across the tag. I added a flower cut with the Flower Button CutUps, centered with a My Mind's Eye enamel dot which was layered onto a black circle. A smattering of more enamel dots completed the design. The patterned paper is from a Heather Bailey designed Becky Higgins Project Life 12x12 set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and dies,  B.Higgins Project Life dp, My Mind's Eye enamel dots, PTI ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder

If you want to play along you just upload your design right on the Dancing in Pajamas blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of this blog so you don't have to search around). If you want to display your project on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUESJuly13.

Ahoy!

I am on a roll - three cards this weekend and those are just the ones I've posted. I accomplished some design team work too. I am squeezing this one in for this week's There She Goes challenge to case a TSG design team member's project from the last release previews.

I chose to to case the uber-talented Jenny. The image Jenny used is on my wishlist and I love how she showcased it with this well designed card you see to the left.

I won the Shiver Me Timbers stamp set back in April but unfortunately have not had a chance to use it until now. I did a bit of masking so I could perch the parrot on top of the treasure chest. I cut out the image with Spellbinders Nestabilities with some out of the box action for the parrot. The miniature map was stamped separately, fussy cutting it out after coloring with Copic Markers. The paper is from one of my favorite summer themed pads Fancy Pants Down by the Shore.

Products: There She Goes stamps, Fancy Pants dp and buttons, My Mind's Eye Enamel Dots, C.C. Designs Cutters, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E01, E11; Clothing-W00, E81, B93, B97, B99, R22, R24, R29; Treasure Chest-E41, E42, E44; Parrot-YR23, YR27, R22, R24, R29, G20, YG21, YG23, B000, B01, B04; Treasure Map-E50, E51, E41, E42, G20, YG23, B000, B01, E81; Sand-W1, W2; Shadows-BG70, BG0000, BG000

I'll close out the week with some cute puppy pics although it's nearly impossible to get a good photograph when she is constantly on the move. We are enjoying Zoe but frankly we had forgotten just how difficult it is to potty train. Let's just say that we've taken up every rug we own due to the potential for "accidents".

Here she was having a fit because her "Daddy" was outside without her:

Zoe wouldn't stay in her bed much at first but we finally figured that it was because she could see Don but not me when she was in it. Moving it to a spot where so she could keep an eye on both of us did the trick.

I hope to see you back here soon!

Because You Mean So Much to Me

Rain, Rain. Please. Please. Go Away. The gloomy weather affects my mood so this rainy weekend I tried to lift myself up with a) stamping and b) color.

I think it was kismet that I received this new Fancy Pants Wonderful Day pad around the same time I also got the My Favorite Things Peaceful Wildflowers stamps and dies set. They looked like they were made to go together. I used a lot of MFT products on this card! I first cut the image panel using the Labels I Stax and then added a bit of color to it using the Abstract Art stamp set.  I stamped the bouquet of wildflowers using Berrylicious, Sour Apple and Razzle Berry inks. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece cut with the one of the Mini Doily Die-namics which I layered onto hot pink cardstock for the color to show throw the cutouts. A few sequins and a My Mind's Eye enamel dot completed the design. I generally followed the Mojo Monday 300 sketch for the layout.

God's Promises (Mojo Monday 300)

It's a gloomy Saturday here today. It has been raining off and on since Wednesday with more in the forecast tomorrow. Since there is virtually nothing to do outside I decided to get crafty. I've struggled with getting back into the swing of things with stamping and inking but I'm getting there.

I really wanted to participate in the Mojo Monday 300 Celebration before the deadline so I inked up one of my newer Verve stamps, Shining Star. I stayed fairly true to the sketch using the Verve Starry Die to create the background of the circular piece and some additional scattered stars. I used some of my newer embellishments, a Queen and Co. Candy Striper and Studio Calico Sequins along with some buttons from my stash. The paper came from an older My Mind's Eye pad.

Products: Verve stamp and die, My Mind's Eye dp, Queen and Co. Candy Stripers, Studio Calico sequins, Spellbinders Nestabilties, My Favorite Things ink

I hope there is some sunshine in your weekend!

***This is my third post for today. Please scroll down for Sweet November and C.C. Designs projects***

It's a new month and that means a new TCP challenge which is to use a handmade tag on your project.

I am double dipping somewhat with my project today. I am participating in an ATC swap in The Cat's Pajamas forum over at Splitcoaststampers so I used this challenge to try to create a prototype. I came up with three different designs using various stamps and papers. The centerpiece of each one is a tag cut with The Cat's Pajamas Luggage Tags and I used the What's Mew, Joyride, Summer Sentiments and Reel Expert stamp sets for the images. Unfortunately, I have not decided which prototype to use.
