Happy 6th Birthday {TCP Tuesday}

Welcome to the the first TCP Tuesday challenge of April. The Cat's Pajamas is in the process of making some wholesale changes to TCP Tuesday which we will debut in May. In the meantime two changes are effective immediately. First of all, we will rotate challenges on a two week basis so you will have more time to complete your projects. Secondly, we have changed our incentive to $10 Cat Cash for the winner but if the winner uses a TCP stamp or die, then the prize is $15 Cat Cash.

I am your hostess with a What's Your Number? challenge. Use a number on your project; this can be a stamp, die-cut or even with numbers on your patterned papers.

I combined several of the newest TCP products to create a 6th birthday card. I started out by creating a shaker using the Framed CutUps 2, using Doodlebug sequins for the shake-ables and placing a number on the background piece cut with the new Numbers plate. I layered the shaker onto a piece cut with the Heart Rosette CutUps. I stamped the sentiment from the Your Number is Up set at the top directly onto the background panel alternating with Stampin' Up Gumball Green and Strawberry Slush inks. I also stamped the "th" onto a small circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities, matting it onto a flower cut with the Flower Button CutUps and then placing it on the shaker frame. The birthday sentiment was stamped onto a flag banner cut with the Easy Rosette CutUps.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Today's card is for this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#101) to use the colors of red, grey and white.

I combined the new with the old today. I cut the background paper from the Webster's Pages It's Christmas pad and then stamped the sentiment from the CAS-ual Fridays Christmas Carols set directly onto the paper using Ranger Archival Vermillion ink. The old part is the clock from the Heidi Swapp Clocks stamp set from back in my scrapbooking days. I wiped away the clock edge so I could stamp only the numbers in Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink. I cut the clock hands using the PTI Hands of Time dies from the same charcoal gray card stock I used for the background panel matting and anchored them with a red button. Unfortunately my camera makes the card stock look black but in real life it's a beautiful dark gray for a simple and understated Christmas card. Sorry for the dark photograph but it's a gloomy day here.

Products: CAS-ual Fridays stamp, Webster's Pages dp, Recollections cs, PTI dies, cs and button, Ranger Archival and Memento Luxe Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend.

Home

Today's card is for the March Reverse Confetti Color Challenge. The minute I saw the colors I knew what paper I wanted to use. I've been hoarding it since my scrapbooking days but unfortunately I only found this one scrap piece. I'm hoping I have more somewhere but I just really didn't have time to look any further.

I cut the scalloped piece from Stampin' Up Midnight Muse cardstock using the Reverse Confetti Love Note die set and used a Spellbinders Nestie for the insert. After stamping the image from the Reverse Confetti Go Together set, I fussy cut out and attached to the insert. I added another double ended flag and a row of hearts cut with a piece from the Love Note set. I cut the flower and leaf using the Verve Loopy Blooms die set and topped it with a button. A few Kaisercraft pearls finished it up.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, Simple Stories and Sweetwater dp, PTI cs and button, DCWV cs, Kaisercraft pearls, Stampin' Up cs and ink

 Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

{The Cat's Pajamas New Release Blog Hop and TCP Tuesday}

It is release day for The Cat's Pajamas! All seven of the new stamp sets and three fabulous new Cutups dies are available now in The Cat's Pajamas shop.

If you came from Noelle's blog, you are on the right path. Speaking of Noelle, she is this week's TCP Tuesday hostess and she has challenged us to include a cloud on your project.

I created a step card using patterned papers from the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods pad. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece cut with the smallest die from the Circus Panel CutUps. The clouds were cut with the Cloud Border CutUps stamped with the cloud images from the Flying By set. To make the card interactive, I used the Slider CutUps at the bottom, attaching the image from the Besties set which I had colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I added few more nature elements using the Grass and Flower Button CutUps.

You have to pull the tab to see the hidden sentiment which came from the Small Sayings set.

Today we are featuring the Flying By set featuring Sprinkle in an airplane. I stamped the full image and then just the propeller portion of the image, colored both with Copic Markers and fussy cut both of them out. I adhered the main image to the background image panel cut with the new Framed 2 CutUps, positioning a cloud behind Sprinkle's head. The clouds in the stamp set match up to two of the clouds in the Cloud Border CutUps. I attached the second propeller to the image with a dimensional dot to give it more emphasis, topping it with a enamel dot. The border was cut with the Big Scallop CutUps and the sentiment was stamped onto a circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.The background panel was embossed with using the Dots CutUps. {The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Hang in There

It's Day 6 of The Cat's Pajamas previews. Today we are showcasing the Hang in There set.

The sock monkey is making a return to the TCP character lineup. This set features both fun and serious type sentiments. I wanted to use bright, fun colors so I went back to some older and favorite My Mind's Eye Lime Twist pads. They are pretty much decimated but I do have scraps and a few full sheets from each pad left over. This is a small card so it would still fit in an A2 size envelope. I stamped the image onto the image panel with the balloon portion onto a cloud cut with the Cloud Border CutUps. After coloring with Copic Markers I cut the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I cut the top only of one of the tags using the Luggage CutUps, tied a snippet of ribbon in the tag hole and slipped it in between the mat and the image. Lastly, I added some matted enamel dots which repeated the dots in the two patterned papers.

Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle

I am knee deep in design team stamps and projects but I wanted to get this card in for this week's Merry Monday which happens to be their 100th challenge. I managed to miss last week's challenge even though I had my image colored; just couldn't get the time to put it together.

I love pink on my Christmas cards so this challenge is perfect for me. I used the Reverse Confetti Tag Me set to cut the two tags from patterned paper and the the flag banner from plain white card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Tinsel 'n Trim set onto the banner and heat embossed with Black Diamonds embossing powder. I offset the two tags and attached to the card background, wrapping some loose silver thread at the top and securing with a button tied with the same thread. I cut the snowflake using the Taylored Expressions Make a Snowflake die set, attaching to the smaller tag and topping with a sequin. A few more sequins finished it up. The patterned paper came from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color pad.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamp and dies, Doodlebug dp and sequins, PTI button and cs, Bazzill Basics cs, Taylored Expressions die

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. I am itching to get outside and enjoy this beautiful spring weather!

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Rise and Shine

I'm back with Day 5 of The Cat's Pajamas previews.Today we are debuting the Rise and Shine set.

The big eared bunny is out and about on a typical spring day. I colored him up with Copic Markers, paper piecing the umbrella portion of the image. After fussy cutting out and I attached him to a piece cut with the largest die in the new Framed Up 2 CutUps, slipping the banners cut with another piece from the set underneath the main image panel. To help set thes scene I used the largest cloud cut with the Cloud Border CutUps, the sun peaking from behind the cloud was cut with the smallest rosette from the Easy Rosette CutUps. I stamped the sentiment onto a circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities, adding a couple of the small leaves also from the set. All the patterned paper came from the Pebbles Family Ties pad.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Your Number is Up

I'm back with Day 3 of The Cat's Pajamas previews.Today we are debuting the Your Number is Up set.

I love this whole release but I think this set is my favorite. It's one of those sets that you can turn to over and over again. The matching Numbers Plate can be used alone or in conjunction with the stamp set.

I created a graduation card by combining the Coolvetica Alphabet set (high), The Simply Said (congratulations) and the Your Number is Up set in it's simplest form - direct to paper stamping. I added a small graduation cap created from an svg file, a small wood veneer star and a smattering of sequins. A very clean and simple card. I'll have another card using this set in combination with the matching plate at the Pajama Party on the 24th.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, Bazzill and PTI cs, Studio Calico wood veneer star, Darice and Kelly Purkey sequins, Silhouette die cut, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Ranger Archival, Memento Luxe and Simon Says inks

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} The Puck Stops Here

Welcome to Day 2 of The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks. The Puck Stops Here features our favorite bunny as a hockey player.

I created an interactive card using the new Slider CutUps. I started out by creating my "ice rink". I'll be honest and say I don't know a lot about hockey. I live in the south and it's just not that big here so I went online to look for the markings on the ice. I didn't add all of them but I did do the center lines and the goals with red and blue cardstock onto plain white cardstock. I layered a piece of vellum over it to give it an "icy" look and then cut the slider portion through both layers at a slight angle. The image was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut out and then attached to the slider.

You have to pull the tab to find the hidden message inside.
