C.C. Designs Preview - Breeze

Welcome to the last day of the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps May release previews.

Today's card features Breeze from the Pollycraft collection. After stamping the whole image and then cutting with Spellbinders Nestabilities I colored with Copic Markers. I then stamped the kite body and puppy images separately, colored with Copics and then fussy cut out. I attached them to the main image with cupped sequins for a slight lift. I combined the image with patterned papers from the new Simple Stories DIY pad. Ribbon and a scattering of jewels finished it up.

Thoughts and Prayers {TCP Tuesday Color Challenge}

This week's TCP Tuesday challenge is to use the colors of Melon, Dark Blue and Sky Blue. You can use other colors in the mix but these must be represented somewhere on your project.

I debuted this card at the TCP Pajama Party for the latest release but not here on the blog. I started out by using the Dots CutUps as an embossing rather than as a cutting plate on the card base. I then stamped the sentiment from the Hang in There Baby stamp set onto a piece cut with the Framed Up 2 CutUps. I cut the frame from light blue cardstock using the same CutUps set. I centered both onto a piece cut with the Framed Up Cutups and then anchored the frame with buttons and felt flowers flower cut with  the Flower Button CutUps. I added another Flower Button combo in the top right corner with a flourish cut from cardstock using the Heart Swirl CutUps. All the patterned paper came from the Fancy Pants Collecting Moments pad.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Fancy Pants dp, PTI cs, felt and buttons, Linen Thread, Simon Says ink

Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Splitcoaststampers forum and our Facebook page.

A Random Fan Review - Little Miss Sassy

Good morning. I have a card today featuring A Random Fan stamp which is now available in rubber at C.C. Designs.

I colored up Little Miss Sassy in one of my favorite color combos, pink and black. The patterned paper came from the Lily Bee Victoria Park pad. I kept the design simple so Little Miss Sassy would really standout, just adding a strip of ribbon and a couple of enamel dots.

20 Special Years {TCP Tuesday - Sketch Challenge}

Welcome back to another TCP Tuesday challenge.  As a reminder, The Cat's Pajamas recently changed to a two week rotation on the challenges so you have longer to get them completed. Plus the incentive is now$10 Cat Cash for the winner but if the winner uses a TCP stamp or die, then the prize is $15 Cat Cash. Full details are at the bottom of this post.

This week's challenge is a sketch which happens to be one I drew up. In addition to the sketch, TCP is also offering SVG, Studio and cut files for you to use if you would like. They are free this time around and are located in the Cutables section of The Cat's Pajamas shop.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary so I made this card for him using the Your Number is Up stamp set, the Numbers Plate and Framed Up 2 CutUps. I cut the heart with the Hearts Trio CutUps

Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on the Splitcoaststampers forum and TCP Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button below. If you want to display your pretties on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUES264. Only the entries uploaded to the Inlinkz button will be considered for Swanky Stamper at the end of the month.
  3. You must have your project posted by the Monday, 12 midnight EDT before the next challenge to be eligible to win the Cat Cash.
  4. Cards and projects are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die.
  5. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen at random from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
  6. At the end of the month, The Swanky Stamper will be selected from all the month's entries. The Swanky Stamper will receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. Rejoice

I really enjoy the challenges at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog so I am especially happy to be guest designing for them for the second time.

This week's #104 challenge is to use the colors slate, kraft, white or cream. I decided to use a stamp from the Papertrey Ink Star of Wonder set, stamping the image with My Favorite Things Kraft ink and then cutting out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I layered onto a dark gray piece cut with the Verve Classy Label die which was matted with kraft cardstock. The label was anchored with two mini brads and a smattering of jewels and flat back mini sequins. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Holiday Borders with Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink at the bottom for a clean and simple, mail friendly and faith based card.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamp and cs, Simon Says stamp, Bazzill cs, Kelly Purkey sequins, Basic Gray jewels, Verve die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, My Favorite Things and Memento Luxe inks

Be sure to stop by the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog to see all the creative Design Team cards.

I {heart} You Deer

Good morning. I had a few hours to myself yesterday and completed two cards including this one. It's for the current Lawnscaping Challenge (79) which was to try a new-to-you technique.

I decided to use inlaid die cuts although I think I've done a variation of this technique before. Truthfully, I am not sure this is a look that actually interests me but it certainly does make for a clean and simple card. I used the  Hearts Lawn Cuts dies to create an inlaid background for the patterned paper square from the Into the Woods 6x6 pad. I stamped the two images from the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamp set coloring the deer with Copic markers and then fussy cutting out both images. I parsed together two of the sentiments from the same stamp set, plus the "you" from the Love You Tons set. I replaced the heart in the sentiment with a Studio Calico wood veneer heart.

Products: Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Studio Calico Wood Veneer Heart, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memento ink, Copic Markers
Copics: E40, E41, E42, W00, R00

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Love Never Melts

Today's card is another one for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#103). I can't resist snowmen so this week's challenge is perfect for me. It also gave me a chance to ink up a stamp that I haven't used yet, Kraftin' Kimmie Snow Wonder. I colored it up with Copic markers to match the papers from an older Echo Park pad, Holly Jolly Christmas. I added some Liquid Applique to the bunny's tail for some added dimension. The sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Freezin' Season set was stamped onto a label cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics and then inserted it between the image mats. I wrapped some PTI twill around the patterned paper panel and tied into a bow and finished up with a few sequins.

Products: Kraftin' Kimmie stamp, The Cat's Pajamas sentiment stamp, PTI cs and twill, Lawn Fawn sequins, Memento and Simon Says inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Snowman/Bunny-W00, E81, R00, R01, R11,YR30, YR31, G0000, BG0000, G20, G21, G24; Shadows-BG70, BG0000
Spectrum Noirs: Bird-PP3, PP5

And speaking of Christmas, I just added quite a few stamps to my sale page, most of them Christmas themed so please take a look if you have any interest.

I'll see you back here tomorrow with a special C.C. Designs release card!

C.C. Designs Review - Party Olivia

It's review time on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the April release stamps.

Today's card features Party Olivia. Olivia has quickly become one of my favorite C.C. Designs characters. I colored up this sweet girl with Copic markers and then cut out with Spellbinders Nestablilities. The sentiment came from the new AmyR Great Birthday Greetings set which I have to say is a fantastic sentiment set with nice big sentiments for the inside of your cards. You can see that they also work for the front of your cards as well. The patterned papers came from the Fancy Pants Beloved and Wonderful Day pads and I added a few buttons and sequins for embellishments.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, Fancy Pants dp, PTI cs and buttons, MFT buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memento and Simon Says inks,  Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E11, R20; Hair-E51, E53, E34; Clothing-Y0000, Y11, Y15, BG0000, BG000, BG10, BG11, W00, E81; Floor-C00, C1, C3; Shadows-B0000, B000

Festive Friday #28

My back was really bothering me yesterday so rather than doing all the things I really needed to do, I made myself  as comfortable as possible, popped a pill and actually completed three cards.

Today's card is the only one I can show you right now and it is for the current Festive Friday challenge (FFC28). I stamped the image  from The Cat's Pajamas Vintage Holiday set onto a tag shape cut with TPC Luggage Tags CutUps and heat embossed. I added some American Crafts ribbon at the top. To make the card base, I used the TCP Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps to emboss a circle shape rather than as a cutting plate.  I attached the tag over the border cut with the Memory Crafts Pine Needle  border from green cardstock. After loosely wrapping Hemptique cord around the card front, I secured with a button.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, PTI cs and button, Bazzill cs, American Crafts ribbon, Hemptique cord, Nick Bantock ink

I hope you are having a great weekend so far.  Thanks for stopping by.

Shore Do Love You

TGIF!!

Today's card is for the April Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try (#11). I changed it up a bit by making the image panel from a rectangle to a circle because I couldn't resist using one of my favorite Reverse Confetti stamp sets Happy Harbor.  I first made a life saver buoy by nesting two Spellbinder Nestabilities together and then cutting, wrapping four navy strips of cardstock around the "buoy". I then stamped the images, coloring with Copics where needed and then fussy cut out. I created a small scene inside the buoy with the stamped images adding a wave using a Taylored Expressions die. To create the background strips I stamped two strips of Stampin' Up cardstock with matching ink (Midnight Muse and Gumball Green) using the Whole Lotta Dots set. The third patterned paper strip came from the My Mind's Eye Oxford Lane pad. I then stamped the sentiment and the row of anchors in the lower right corner of the card using the same inks as before. Lastly, I added the yellow heart cut with a piece from the Love Note die set.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and die, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Taylored Expressions die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Stampin' Up and Memento inks, Copic Markers
Copics: B91, B95, B99, Y0000, Y11, Y15, BG0000, BG000, BG10, BG11, E81, W00, W1, W2, B0000, B000

It's finally shorts weather around here and I am taking full advantage. Have a great weekend!

Under the Mistletoe

Today's card is for this week's Merry Monday (#102) Christmas challenge. Since the inspiration piece features mistletoe, I decided to recycle an idea from last year's cards. Anyone remember this post? I said then that I wanted to make a masculine version. Well that didn't happen obviously so that means there is yet another one in my future.

I first cut the tag using a PTI die and then attached the mistletoe cut with the C.C. Designs Mistletoe Cutters using sequins to represent the berries. The sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas Merry Everything set and was stamped with Simon Says ink onto a sentiment strip cut with the Reverse Confetti Tag Me die set. After wrapping silver thread around it, I layered it across the bottom of the tag and added a red sequin to the top of the thread. After adhering the tag to the background panel I topped it with a paper bow cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics. I repeated the green of the mistletoe with a scalloped border and added a few more sequins. All the patterned came from the Doodlebug North Pole and Home for the Holidays pads.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, Doodlebug dp, Bazzill Basics cs, Darice sequins, PTI die and cs, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Reverse Confetti die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Simon Says ink

I'll get around to that masculine version at some point in time!
