{The Cat's Pajamas} TCP Tuesday Anything Goes Challenge

It's TCP Tuesday challenge time at The Cat's Pajamas and we have an "anything goes" challenge for this two week rotation.

I created an all die cut Easter card using the Eggs in a Basket CutUps as the centerpiece. After cutting the basket from white textured cardstock, I highlighted the embossing very lightly with a Copic Marker (BG0000). I cut the "eggs" from various scraps, attaching to the basket with double sided tape. I was then attached to a patterned paper background rectangle with dimensional dots. I added a strip of paper with the same pattern a couple of the eggs and then attached the image piece to it with dimensional tape. A couple more "eggs" at the bottom of the basket and a flower cut with the Flower Button CutUps finished it up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Cutups, American Crafts dp, PTI dp and cs, Bazzill cs, Doodlebug jewel

Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.

Hippity Hoppity {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's Easter card features stamps from Purple Onion Designs.

I cut a rectangle out and then cut out a circle within it using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched die. I stamped the Blooms image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, cut out with a circle die, then colored with Copic Markers. After attaching it to the card base, I framed it with the cut rectangle piece using dimensional tape to adhere. I colored Chloe (the bunny) with Copic markers, fussy cut out and attached to the panel. The Hippity Hoppity sentiment was stamped onto a white cardstock piece with Berrylicous ink and then anchored with a button.

At the Cross

Today's card is a faith based one for Easter.

I used the Taylored Expression At the Cross 2 die to cut the cross from textured cardstock and then layered Berrylicious and Harvest Gold cardstock underneath it. It was then attached to a patterned paper rectangle cut with  a Lil Inker Designs Stitched die using dimensional tape. The image rectangle was then attached to the background mats also with dimensional tape. A stitched scallop piece was slipped underneath the rectangle and the cross was topped with a pearl for a clean and simple card.

Products: Taylored Expressions die, American Crafts dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, Kaisercraft pearl, MFT cs and dies

I also have a Bible Journaling page today. See how I got started on this post.

I am still just finding my way with this process. I have the luxury of not being in a hurry so I am going slowly. Today's page highlights Proverbs 16:9. Again I brushed the front and back of the pages with Liquitex Mat Gel Medium to help bleed through. I can't honestly tell if this is helping or not because I still have bleeding to the back but I suspect it would be worse if I didn't use it. After it dried I stamped the clock image (it's been in my stash for years) on the edge of the page using Ranger Archival Veridian ink.  I stamped the scripture over the clock with Hero Arts Wet Cement Shadow ink using the Proverbs 16:9 verse from the Verve Scripture Medley 3 set. I added some clock hands that I cut from charcoal cardstock with the Papertrey Ink Hands of Time dies. I rewrote the scripture using the New Living Translation. I really want my handwriting in my bible even though it's messy and not that legible.

I hope you enjoy what is left of the weekend.

Very Merry

I am again interrupting Easter cards with a Christmas one for the current Merry Monday Challenge (#151) to include a tree.

Although at this point I feel like it is rather ubiquitous to include a shaker on a card, I did buy this Papertrey Ink Shaker Shapes Tree Die before Christmas. And since it's been sitting in my new box ever since so I was determined to put it to work. I cut the stitched front from Tropical Teal cardstock and the back from acetate and patterned paper. I sandwiched all layers with dimensional tape using sequins for the "shaker" part. I stamped the tag image from the Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags set with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink and the sentiment from the same set with black ink. It was  then cut out with the matching die from the Tiny Tags Die set and attached to the tree with silver cord. The completed shaker was attached to the patterned paper background which came from the Doodlebug Frosty Friends pad.

Products: Papertrey Ink Stamps, Dies and cs, Doodlebug dp, Paper Source cord, Tree House sequins, MFT die, Delicata and Simon Says inks

Have a great weekend!

The Sugar Bowl April "Anything Goes" Challenge

Today's card is for The Sugar Bowl April "Anything Goes" challenge.

I printed the Sugar Nellie No Shell Like Home digital image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock after using the Erase tool in PSE to remove the smaller snail images. The image was cut out with a My Favorite Things pierced die and then colored with Copic markers. I prepared the background with patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste Adorbs pad. The flower was cut out using The Cat's Pajamas Sunflower Rosette CutUps and attached with dimensional dots. A PTI sentiment stamped onto a small circle and a few enamel dots finished it up.

Wishing You Sunshine

I'm back again with a black, yellow and white color scheme. My new Kaisercraft Shine Bright paper pad goes perfectly with my new stamp set, Reverse Confetti Shine Bright.

I cut a circle from textured cardstock and then stamped the sentiment onto to it, adding a sun die cut at the top. I placed it onto the patterned paper background using dimensional tape. I also used my new Reverse Confetti Double Banner Garland die set to create the banner substituting it for one of the strips in the March Sketch for You to Try.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, Kaisercraft dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, Lil Inker Designs dies, Simon Says inks

And since I used a new stamp set and die I am also entering this in Darnell's latest NBUS challenge.

I hope your day is full of sunshine!

The Best Gift

I am interrupting my Easter card making with a Christmas one. It's been forever since I've had a chance to play in the Merry Monday Challenge but I knew that I had the perfect die for it. Especially since it is a die that has not ever been used.

I cut a rectangle from using a My Favorite Things Pierced die and then created a cut out with the Simon Says Pile of Gifts die. I added a small tag stamped with a sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Peeking set. I fussy cut out and added a twine bow. I stamped the other sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Your Gift set directly onto the rectangle. The panel was attached to the background with dimensional tape after I slipped a piece of red foil underneath first.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

After stamping the Birch Tree Background onto Neenah cardstock, I selectively cut out a portion of it using a My Favorite Things die and colored with Copic Markers. I stamped Chloe (the bunny) onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics, then fussy cut out. I placed the bunny on the main image panel using dimensional dots and attached the image panel to the background panel using dimensional tape. The Hoppy Easter sentiment was stamped onto a stitched banner flag using Gumball Green ink. A couple of small flags, buttons and enamel dots were the finishing touches.

Black, Yellow and White All Over

A full week of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks are over and all the new products are in the store now. I had a few cards left over that I shared at The Pajama Party on Monday that I wanted to share here too. By the way, future Pajama Party activities will take place on The Cat's Pajamas Facebook Page.

We'd love to see what you create with your TCP stamps and you can do that through our Spring Blog Hop. This is in addition to our TCP Tuesday Challenges. All you have to do is create a project featuring TCP stamps and linking it up on the The Cat's Pajama blog. You can find the widget in the blog's right sidebar. You have a whole month to participate and the winner will receive a generous $50 TCP gift voucher.

I've been wanting a Black and Yellow paper pad for a while and when I saw the KaiserCraft Shine Bright pad I knew it was the perfect one. The addition of gray put it over the top for me. It seemed natural to pair it with the new Patterned Petals set. You can tell from the picture pile above that I made three cards using the same color scheme.

I stamped one of the large flowers onto Harvest Gold cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink for a tone on tone affect. I then cut it out with the matching die from the Petal Posies CutUps set. I attached it to the background panel decorated with a simple strip of patterned paper at the top, using dimensional tape. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the panel and then added a couple of small flowers cut with the smallest die from the 5 Petal Posies CutUps set.

You will notice that the layout is the same as the first card as well as they both have the tone on tone stamping. I used a different large flower from the set and cut it with the matching die from the 5 Petal Posies CutUps set. I mixed it up a little by using a stencil and Ranger Pumice Stone distress ink to create some background interest.

For this one I cut out the tag from the background and inserted black cardstock underneath the panel. I added a couple of strips of patterned paper to the side and then attached the tag with dimensional tape. To make the tag I first used the largest flower from the Lacy Petal Posies to emboss the tag base, then stamped the sentiment onto it. I added another tone on tone flower cut with the matching die from the Petal Posies CutUps and another cut from plain cardstock from the same set. I am entering this card in the current Tag You're It Challenge (#17)

Of course all the flowers had to be topped with the various patterned centers.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Kaisercraft dp, Bazzill, Neenah and PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, Hemptique twine, Simon Says ink and stencil, Ranger Distress and Stampin' Up inks

So, don't forget about the Spring Blog Hop. You have a whole month to create something for it and a $50 gc would go a long way toward some fun new TCP stamps.

Easter Faith

I am steadily working on my Easter cards. Today's card is another faith based one.

It's rare that I do a diecut only card but this one just worked out that way. I started out by cutting the main image panel from textured cardstock using a Lil Inker Designs Side Stitched rectangle die. I cut out the church from brick patterned paper using the Paper Smooches Church die and then again from cardstock gluing together for stability. I attached it to the panel with dimensional tape, adding another cross inside. I then cut flowers and leaves from cardstock and a small amount of patterned paper using dies from the Flower Dies set, staggering them around the church. The image panel was attached to the card base using dimensional tape.

Products: Paper Smooches dies, Simple Stories dp, Bazzill and MFT cs, Lil Inker Designs die

I am entering this card for the current Paper Smooches Spark challenge of anything goes as well as the Paper Smooches April Guest Designer search.

It is release day for The Cat's Pajamas! All five of the new stamp sets, four fabulous new Cutups dies and two new Cutables are available now in The Cat's Pajamas shop. We are celebrating with a release blog hop.  If you came here from Christine's blog then you are right on track. If not, then start at the beginning on Lisa's blog

I stamped the bunny image from the You Got This set onto a piece cut with the matching free Cutables that Alma provides with each release and then colored with Copic Markers. I prepared the background paper using patterned paper and stamped the sentiment directly on it. I cut out two flags using the Easy Rosette CutUps, slipped them underneath the image panel and then anchored with a paper button cut with one of the dies from Button CutUps. The image panel was attached with tiny brads and I added a couple of enamel dots around the flags.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Spotlight on CutUps

It's the last day of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. The Pajama Party is tonight and right after that the party the new stamps, dies and cutables will be available for purchase.

Today we are spotlighting the new CutUps for this release. I first stamped the leafy flourish from the Patterned Posies and Petals stamp set with black ink and cut out with the matching Leaf Scroll CutUps. To create the flower, I cut the bottom layer from Candy Hearts cardstock using the largest flower die from the 5 Petal Posies CutUps and the top layer from white textured cardstock using the Lacey Posies CutUps. I shaped the petals to curl up and then added a stamped and matted center. The sentiment from the Simply Said set was stamped directly onto the background. A trio of black sequins provided a bit of sparkle.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Stamps and Dies, Bazzill and PTI cs, Doodlebug sequins, Simon Says ink
