'Tis the Season and a Sale! {Purple Onion Designs}

The annual Purple Onion Designs holiday sale runs through Sunday, December 6. All stamps will be 25% off including the ones in the clearance category. In addition, there will be some specials in the Black Friday-Cyber Monday category that will run through today, Monday 11/30.

I have another project featuring a stamp from the new Stacey Yacula Snowflake Grove collection.

I stamped Snow, the cutest little snowman evah onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. Using the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #8 die, I cut the tag front from patterned paper and then another one from craft foam. After it was assembled I added some metallic twine in the tag hole. I prepared the background by embossing the textured cardstock with the Taylored Expressions Snowfall folder and then attached the tag at an angle using craft foam. The 'tis the season sentiment (this is one of the stamps in the Black Friday-Cyber Monday category) was stamped onto a small piece of white cardstock, also attached with craft foam. A small snowflake and a scattering of oversized jewels provided the finishing touches.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, Lawn Fawn dp and die, Papertrey Ink die and cs,  Doodlebug jewels, The Twinery twine, Taylored Expressions Copic Markers

Peace on Earth

Did everyone survive Black Friday? I did not do any shopping, not even online. I started decorating for Christmas instead which is my usual routine for the day after Thanksgiving.

Today's Christmas card is for the Paper Smooches November Challenge to include gold on a project.

Back in October for The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge, I colored up the image with from the Paper Smooches A Blessed Christmas with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die from the Blessed Icons die set. I am just now getting it onto a card. I cut out a circle from Ranger Watercolor cardstock and then sponged a night sky using Scattered Straw, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and Black Soot Ranger Distress inks. I then cut out a circle out of textured cardstock and a layer of craft foam and the old world city from muted gold card stock from my stash using the Cityscape 1 Die. I layered all together and then stamped the sentiment and added the image piece also with craft foam. A few sequins and a star/cross in the sky finished it up.

Products: Paper Smooches stamps and dies, Bazzill, Ranger Distressed Watercolor and PTI cs, Lil Inker Designs die, Simons Says die and ink, Memento and Ranger Distress inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E00, E13, R20; Clothing-W00, E81, B91, B93, B95, C1, C3, C5, R56, R59, R89

Thanks for stopping by.

I first cut an image panel from Neenah cardstock and then stamped one of the sentiments from the Holiday Marquee Sentiments in Tuxedo Black. I then stamped the Cups of Joy image and colored with Copic Markers. The image panel was matted onto patterned paper then attached to the card base with craft foam. Joyful Wishes

Today's card is for the current Lawnscaping In With the Old Challenge.

Back in October for The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge, I colored up the cute penguin and santa hat from the Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together set and cut out with the matching Toboggan Together Lawn Cuts. To put these to work on a card, I used a square Spellbinders Nestie to cut from blue Recollections cardstock and combined it with a die from Simon Says to create the snow bank.  I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and Golden Fiber Paste to create the snowfall, sprinkling with Polar White Flower Soft before it dried. I stamped the bench, lamp post and bench snow from the Winter in the Park set, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then cut out with the matching Winter in the Park Lawn Cuts. I attached the assembled image panel onto a patterned paper background using craft foam. After stamping the sentiment from the Joy to the Woods set using Ranger Archival Vermillion ink, I slipped the label shape underneath the image and added a scattering of Doodlebug enamel dots. The "into the old" part of the challenge includes the Winter in the Park stamp set, the Heidi Swapp stencil and Flower Soft.

Products: Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and dp, Recollections and PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, Golden Fiber Paste, Heidi Swapp stencil, Flower Soft, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Simon Says die, Memento and Ranger Archival inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Penguin-W00, E81, YR30, YR31, N1, N3, N5, N7; Santa Hat-W00, E81, R22, R24, R27; Lamp-Y23, Y35

It's probably going to be all about Christmas cards for the remainder of the year so I hope you will hang in there with me.

Have a fabulous and safe Thanksgiving if you are here in the states.

The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday Challenge

It's time for another TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas with an "Anything Goes" challenge. The challenge runs for two weeks and The Cat’s Pajamas stamps are not required.

I stamped one of the branches from the recently release Wreath Building Kit three times onto a Neenah cardstock rectangle and then colored with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment from the All is Bright set in the center. I added a flower cut from the silver metallic paper using a die from the Poinsettias set, adding three pearls for the center. The image panel was attached to a patterned paper background with craft foam. A scattering of sequins and a silver metallic bow cut with the Easy Stitched Bow finished it up.

Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button below.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Spotlight on CutUps

We've reached the last day of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks.  The Pajama Party is tonight (Monday) and right after that the party the new stamps and dies will be available for purchase. See more information at the bottom of the post.

Today we are spotlighting the CutUps dies in this release even though you may have seen them in projects throughout the week of sneak peeks. This release contains new Poinsettias, Stitched Bow, Grapevine Wreath and Leaves (a free set with a $65 purchase).

For my first card, I cut the Grapevine Wreath from mirrored gold cardstock and then several times from plain white cardstock. I stacked them all together and then attached to the patterned paper background. I cut the Poinsettias from the same mirrored gold cardstock and white shimmery cardstock from my stash and the Leaves (free with $65 purchase) were cut from silver metallic paper and then attached to the wreath. I added a gold mirrored strip of cardstock to the patterned paper and stamped the sentiment from the Your Gift below it.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Anna Griffin dp, Recollections mirrored and metallic cs, Kaisercraft pearls, Simon Says cs and ink, Hero Arts ink

For the second card I started out by creating a tag from kraft cardstock using two dies from the Toppers CutUps and then stamped the sentiment from the Wreath Kit toward the bottom using Wet Cement ink. I cut the wreath three times from white cardstock using the Grapevine Wreath die stacking and gluing them together. After threading fibers through the tag hole, it was then attached offsetting on the tag and then trimmed on the edge. The leaves also from the Wreath Kit were stamped with Orange Fizz, Pale Tomato and Catkin inks and then cut out with the matching Leaves CutUps. The decorated tag was attached to a textured cardstock panel and then finished with a trio of pearls.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, SU, PTI and Bazzill cs, Kaisercraft pearls, Hero Arts, MFT and Simon Says inks

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Snowman Accessory Pack

We are closing in on release day. Have you made a wishlist? Today we are sneaking the Snowman Accessory Pack which actually coordinates with yesterday's set, Build Your Own Snowman.

I cut the edge of white Neenah cardstock with a die from the Celebration Toppers and then stamped the snowglobe, snowman, pile of snow balls, North Pole sign and shovel. After coloring the images with Copic Markers, I stamped the snowflakes with Schoolhouse Red and Wet Cement ink and the sentiment also with Schoolhouse Red. I placed a strip of patterned paper on the cardbase and then attached the image panel to it. Hemptique twine wrapped around the card finished it up for a clean and simple card.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Build Your Own Snowman

Welcome to another day of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. Today we are debuting the oh-so-fun Build Your Own Snowman set.

I stamped the smaller snowman body onto a Neenah cardstock circle, masked it off and stamped the larger snowman body. I then "built" the snowmen with various pieces from the set, stamping the twig arms with Hot Fudge ink. I colored all the elements with Copic Markers. I cut out a circle from the front patterned panel and a layer of craft foam, plus another circle from clear acetate. I sandwiched everything together with craft foam, filling the inside with seed beads and sequins. I added two more snowflakes from the sequin pack to the outside edges of the circle, topping them with a small rhinestone. The partial sentiment was stamped directly onto the patterned paper panel. I have a confession in that I fully intended on finishing the sentiment "all different & all beautiful"on the inside but some how or other I have managed to lose it! I am sure it is here somewhere in the release week chaos that is my craft desk.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Bunny Christmas

It's day three of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. We are debuting the Bunny Christmas set today. You big eared bunny lovers will love this set as it includes not one but three bunnies!

I colored up the knitting bunny with Copic Markers and then fussy cut him out. I found this really pretty "sweater" like patterned paper and thought it was perfect. And on the plus side it also included some patterned images which make for an easier card. I added a notebook border at the top using one of the dies from the Toppers CutUps and then cut out a circle on the panel. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the panel with Dark Chocolate ink. After attaching the panel to the card base using craft foam, I added backing to the circle cutout with contrasting patterned paper and then attached the bunny also with craft foam. A trio of buttons finished it up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Fancy Pants dp, PTI cs and buttons, Simon Says ink
