Introducing the New Purple Onion Designs "Snow Day" by Stacey Yacula

The new Stacey Yacula collection is available TODAY in the Purple Onion Designs shop.  There is special pricing of a flat $90 for the entire Snow Day! stamp collection until November 10. This represents more than a 30% savings. Of course you can also purchase individually.  Now on to two cards which represent Christmas card #24 and 25.

After stamping Flurry, I colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I prepared the background panel by attaching a stitched rectangle with a stitched circle cutout to a sno cone card base. I used a stencil with fiber paste and Flower Soft to represent snowflakes inside the cutout. After stamping the sentiment from the Handwritten Holiday set I tucked in the snowman inside the circle using a combination of glue and foam tape. I finished it up with a double layered snowflake topped with an enamel dot.

After stamping the new Holly Branch I also stamped Mary (bird) from a previous release twice onto Neenah cardstock and then cut out with a stitched rectangle die. I colored with Copic Markers and then used Hero Arts Unicorn ink to create an illusion of snow. The image panel was attached to a side folding landscape card base layered with a subtle patterned paper. The sentiment from the Handwritten Holiday set was stamped onto sno cone cardstock cut with a stitched square. A double strand of Cappuccino twine wrapped and tied provided the only embellishment,

Undying Love

My son and daughter-in-law recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary and I created this card for them. Actually I made it for my son to give to DIL. They are the ones who got me started watching The Walking Dead thus the Halloween images with a romantic turn.

I stamped the two zombies from the SugarPea Designs Undying Love set onto a Neenah cardstock rectangle cut with a stitched rectangle, then colored with Copic Markers. The image panel was attached to a patterned paper background. The sentiment was stamped on soft granite and pure poppy ink onto a double ended banner which was adhered to the image panel with foam tape.

{The Cat's Pajamas} TCP Tuesday #326

It's time for another TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas with a challenge to create a tag or use one on a card. The challenge runs for two weeks and The Cat’s Pajamas products are not required although we do love it when you use our stamps and dies.

I stamped two of the flourishes from the Winter Style set using veridian ink onto a stitched white linen panel. I then used the Holiday Tag Duo set to cut the front of the panel. I filled the resulting cut out with tropical teal cardstock. I tied twine through the tag hole and then placed it over the opening using foam tape for a "spotlight" effect. I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Stacked Sentiments set onto a small cardstock rectangle using wet cement ink and then attached with a combo of glue and foam tape. A few enamel dots finished it up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI cs, The Twinery twine, MME and Teresa Collins enamel dots, Hero Arts and Ranger Archival ink

Here are the details:

  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EST before the next challenge.
  3. You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  4. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is use.

{The Cat's Pajamas} N*el

Today's card is another TCP post release card that I shared at the TCP pre-release party on Facebook.  And with all the cards I shared during our sneak peek last week this also represents Christmas card #22. It features a limited edition set J*lly H*liday that is actual a re-release of a retired set. Once it is gone it goes right back into retirement.

I first used the new and versatile Scalloped Duo die to cut the background panel so that the card base peeked through. I stamped the insert with the holiday word and the "candy" for the "o". I also stamped the same candy image three more times on the card front and colored all with Copic markers. The word panel was popped up using foam tape. I added a small snowflake and few enamel dots as embellishments for yet another clean and simple card. This set would be great to create an assembly line of cards as it is so simple to stamp and color.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI cs, Memento ink, Copic Markers
Copics: R20, R22, R24, R27, YG0000, YG01, YG23, C00, C1

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Acorn Trail is a new small release from Stacey Yacula featuring Halloween/Fall images. My card features Scary.

I prepared the background with a color wash using Ranger Faded Jeans Distress ink. After it dried I stamped the Starry Night image using Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. The sentiment from the Sweet Occasions Sentiment set was stamped onto a black tag with Versamark ink and white embossed, then attached to the background panel with twine and foam tape. Scary was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut out and also attached with foam tape. A few sequins added a bit of sparkle.

I stamped two of the penguins from the Big Cups set directly onto the card front and colored with Copic Markers. I then stamped the sentiment at the bottom. I cut the cup using dies from the Cups Duo CutUps and then attached using foam tape for dimension. Twine tied to the top of the card along with a few enamel dots finished up this clean and simple card.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Bunny Snowglobe

We have reached the last day of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. Have you been making a list? Today we are featuring the new Bunny Snowglobe set.

I stamped the image onto a clear acetate piece using StazOn ink and then used two stitched rectangle dies to create a patterned paper frame around it which was attached to the card base using foam tape. After cutting the postage stamps using the Stamp Trio CutUps, I stamped the stamp edges from the Love Letters set in blue jay ink set as well as the postage cancellation image in black. The letters from the J*lly H*liday set were stamped in pure poppy ink. I cut two small snowflakes in white and pure poppy cardstock using the Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps layering them on the middle postage stamp to represent the 'o' in joy. I tied twine around the card and then layered the postage set using foam tape.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks} J*lly H*liday

Today's sneak peek may look familiar to our loyal customers as it is not new. J*lly H*liday has been brought out of retirement for a limited time. Once it sells out, it will go back into retirement. The design team is quite excited that it has been reissued and we hope you are too!

I started out by preparing the card base using one of the dies from the new Scalloped Duo die to cut the background panel, backing it with hawaiian shores cardstock. I cut the tag shape from the also new Holiday Tag set from white linen cardstock and the used another die from the set to cut the snowflake cutout and also the tag hole. I backed the tag by cutting the tag again from pure poppy cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the J*lly H*liday set using pure poppy and hawaiian shores inks. I cut one of the ornaments from the tag set twice from white and once from green parakeet cardstock, layered them together and tied with lime green cording to replace the 'o' in Joy. I also stamped another small image from the same stamp set and cut out with a circle die, attaching to the tag with foam tape. After inserting the tag hole with twine, it was attached to the card front with foam tape. I used the smallest die from the Scalloped Duo set to cut the flourish several times from pure poppy cardstock and placed it below the tag.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} This Could be Vodka

We are on day five of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. Today we are featuring the new This Could be Vodka set. I adore this whimsical set!

From a side folded A2 card base, I cut off the right edge 1.25 inch on the front side to reveal a portion of the inside of the card. After securing the card base in the Misti, I stamped the image from the This Could be Vodka set across the front and inside of the card. Since the layers were at a slightly different level, I had to stamp a couple of times to get a good image on the inside portion. I then stamped some of the cute bits and baubles provided in the set to decorate the cup. I colored the image with Copic markers and then stamped the sentiment from the same set onto the card front. A few enamel dots and a ribbon border finished it up for the simplest of cards!

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, May Arts ribbon, MFT and Simon Says ink
Copics: Cup-W00, E81, R32, R37, R39, YR12, YR14, YR16; Cat-Y21, Y23, Y26, R11, R20

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Penguin Joy

I am back today with another The Cat's Pajamas sneak peek. Today we are showcasing the new Penguin Joy set.

I have an interactive card for you today. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I then cut the tree lines from textured white cardstock with the new Hill & Dale CutUps and stamped the sentiment on the top layer using Vermillion ink. I used the new Roller die to cut the top layer in order for the sleigh to slide down the hill. This die can be used as a roller or a slider. Here is a video to demonstrate the different ways to use this die:

I then sandwiched the tree line layers using foam tape and placed on a patterned paper background. I then topped the card with red twine.
