The Cat's Pajamas October Release and Blog Hop

It is release day at the The Cat's Pajamas! Three new stamps and four new dies are now available , one of which is from Poppy Stamps in The Cat's Pajamas shop. We are celebrating the release with a blog hop. If you arrived here from from the very talented and sweet Michele's blog you are in the right place. If not, then please return to Michele's blog because she is the beginning of the hop.

It's no secret that Christmas cards are my favorite to make especially when I have some fun images to play with like the ones from the new North Pole or Bust set. I stamped two of the images directly onto the card front and colored with Copic markers. Fun and easy! I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto a red diecut heart using Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. I attached the heart using a layer of craft foam for dimension and added a simple patterned paper piece at the bottom.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, MFT dp, PTI cs, Spellbinders die, Versamark and Memento ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Car,etc-B41, B32, B34, C1, Y11, YG01, YG11, YG13, R20, R22, R24, R27, G40, G43; Moped, etc-BG10, BG11, BG0000, C1, C3, Y11, R20, R22, R24, R27, YG01, YG11, YG13

Next up is a softer more delicate kind of Christmas card. I stamped one of the gnomes from the new Gnome for the Holidays onto Neenah cardstock rectangle diecut and colored with Copic markers. For the background I cut the snowflakes using the new 5 Snowflakes die set from white cardstock and glued to a sweet blush card base. After cutting a vellum overlay I stamped the sentiment from the Penguin Joy set with Versamark ink and white heat embossed. The overlay was attached to the card front using sparkly mini brads and the image panel with a layer of craft foam.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, PTI cs, Paper Source vellum, MFT dies, Versamark and Memento ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Gnome-E000, E00, E11, W00, E81, R00, R01, R02, G0000, G000, G00; Tree/Holly-G20, G43, W00, E81, Y000, Y11

My last card was super easy to create using the new Joy die. I double cut the snowflake center from cardstock and the J and Y from patterned paper. I used the Balloon Frame die to create an opening on the card front, then backed with patterned paper and attached the snowflake centered word. A few enamel dots finished it up.

More Mistletoe Farm {New Purple Onion Designs}

I am back with another project using images from the brand new Mistletoe Farm collection by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs. I love Stacey's woodland creatures but these farm animals are really tugging at my heart. My grandparents farmed for a living and I have some very loving memories of life with them. I am a total 'burb girl these days but this collection makes me feel so nostalgic.

Basically I am a clean and simple card maker but do enjoy the scene building images in this collection. I stamped the new Barn Door onto Neenah cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. I framed the image piece with a green parakeet cardstock. I then stamped the horse head and neck from the new Scout stamp, the Christmas sign from the new Wood Winter and Holiday Signs set and the the stocking from the Fireplace Decor set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and fussy cut out. I added a garland around the horses ahead and positioned inside the barn mounted with foam tape. The sign and stocking were also attached with foam tape and I added a few green and red enamel dots. Lastly, I wrapped gingham ribbon around the side tied in a bow for a festive touch.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI cs, Michael's ribbon, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT dies, MFT ink
Copics: Barn-W1, W2, W5, C00, C1, C3, C5, W00, E81; Horse-E30, E31, W00, E81, R30; Signs&Stocking-W00, E81, YG01, YG11, YG13

If you haven't bought these stamps yet, - and I don't see how you could resist - you still have time to buy the entire collection of 26 images at a special price of $107 until October 31. This price represents a 30% discount.

The Cat's Pajamas October Sneak Peeks

It's The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek Week!  We are celebrating Christmas and Winter with three new stamp sets and four new to the shop dies. The Village & Trees die is free-with-purchase. All the new products will be released on October 30 in the TCP store.

I am kicking off the first of seven days of Sneaky Peek week. Each member of the design team will be taking turns sharing creations. Check The Cat's Pajamas blog everyday to see who is on the schedule. I am also sharing this day with the oh so talented Julee Tillman who is guest designing for us this week. Julee is one of my very favorite card artists!

And speaking of the Village & Trees free with purchase die, I used it on my first card. I went very simple with it, placing the diecut on a snowfall embossed navy cardstock background. I stamped the sentiment from the also new North Pole or Bust stamp set using Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. I added the irridescent holeless sequins introduced to the shop last month for a bit of sparkle and some ribbon tied at the top.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, MFT and PTI cs, TE embossing folder, TCP sequins, May Arts ribbon, Versamark ink

My second project is another simple Christmas card. I stamped the image from the North Pole or Bust set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I then blended spring rain ink onto the center of the card front and stamped the stars and the sentiment from the same set using spring rain ink again. I added a trio of snowflakes cut using dies from the 5 Snowflakes set which were anchored with enamel dots. The 5 Snowflakes set features four dies which cut out five different snowflakes

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, PTI and MFT ink

I am a clean and simple cardmaker but occasionally I like to get at least a little bit messy/artsy. The new Cosmic Christmas set cried out for a galaxy background so I retrieved my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set out. I watercolored a stitched Ranger watercolor cardstock rectangle with darker colors on the edges to lighter colors in the center. I then splashed watered down Gouache lightly tapping with a brush all over it. I stamped the star images from the North Pole or Bust set three times and the sentiment from the Cosmic Christmas set using Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. After the the watercolored piece dried, I stamped the image from the Cosmic Christmas set directly onto it to use as a guide. I then stamped the same image again onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and fussy cut out. The image was then attached to the background panel using foam tape. I used a white and clear Sakura Gelly Roll pen for the light strand.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, Ranger and PTI cs, Sukura pen, Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors, Versamark and MFT ink
Copics: W00, E81, W1, W2, C00, C1, C3, BV00, BV01

Front

Inside

For my last card, I created an inside shadowbox card using YouTube instructions from Jennifer McGuire. After stamping two of the cute Christmas gnome images from the new Gnome for the Holidays set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored both with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I used the previously released Going Round and Round die and a plain circle die to to cut a border from pure poppy cardstock and backgrounds from soft stone patterned paper. For the inside I did add an acetate window for the circle opening to provide more stability for the gnome. I added snowflake inside and another outside of the shadow box both cut from iced aqua cardstock using the new 5 Snowflakes set along with a gnome. The card front gnome was attached to same circle combo using foam tape. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front using pure poppy ink. A border was cut from iced aqua cardstock using the new Snowflake Border die. I snipped one snowflake off so it would fit in landscape mode and then added sparkly enamel dots to the snowflake centers. Another small sentiment from the previously released Fat Cat Christmas was stamped on the inside, leaving room for a signature.

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store, comment on each of the designer's blogs on a daily basis including mine today and also on my Instagram account @nancyhthomas. Winners will be announced on The Cat's Pajamas Blog and Facebook page each day.

The brand new Mistletoe Farm collection by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs is available for purchase now. The complete collection consists of 26 stamps and will be $107.00 until Wednesday, October 31, 2018. This represents a savings of 30%. As always, you may order individually as well.

I have two cards to share with you today using the new stamps.

Ella, the sweetest little lamb ever, was stamped onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I used a Marvy Snow Marker to add some fleecy texture. After watercoloring a stitched background with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, I added a snowy hill and stamped the sentiment on to it as well as adding a bit more "snow". After attaching the lamb using foam tape I added some stars cut from metallic cardstock and enamel dots.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI, Bazzill, MFT, Michael's metallic and Ranger Distress cs, Marvy snow marker, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT, Simon Says and PTI dies, MFT, Ranger Distress and Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Lamb-W00, E81, C00, C1, C3, G0000, G000, G02, YR35

My second card features the new Champ (puppy) which I stamped onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic and then fussy cut out. I used the Little Tree image stamped directly onto a tag shape for a sweet Charlie Brown type Christmas tree. After coloring the tree I added strips of patterned paper at the bottom of the tag and festive red and white ribbon tied in the tag hole. Champ was attached with foam tape and the completed tag was attached to a subtle patterned paper background using a layer of craft foam. The sentiment from the Artic Wonderland Sentiment set was stamped directly onto the card background using pure poppy ink.

TCP Tuesday #351 October Challenge

The October TCP Tuesday Challenge is Holiday. Although we will soon be celebrating the big Fall and Winter holidays you do not have to limit yourself - you can make a project for any holiday. You have until the end of the month to submit and a random winner will receive a $50 gift voucher to the TCP store.

Since I am very behind in my Christmas card making for the year, I decided to make another clean and simple Christmas card. I used the Dove CutUps to cut from patterned paper and the newly released Portrait of Mew to cut from more patterned paper and white cardstock. I layered both onto a patterned paper oval cut with a die from the Oval Scroll Duo die. A sentiment from the newly released Christmas Seals set was stamped directly onto the card base. A few enamel dots finished it up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Illustrated Faith dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT ink
