Animal Crackers: From Our Gang to Yours {PIcket Fence Studios}

Today's card is another Christmas card using products from the August Picket Fence Studios release.

After stamping the From Our Gang to Yours image onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment from the set was stamped using cherry kisses ink and also cut with its matching die. I cut out the background panel using a stitched edge die, then cut a circle from it and backed the space with patterned paper. The "snow" was cut out with a die from the Mountains Scene Building set, then stamped Winter Scenery Scene Building stamp using soft stone ink for a subtle look. I used my finger to randomly add streaks of Sparkle Paper Glitz. The image and sentiment were attached using a layer of craft foam.

Fa La La

I created todays cards with some products that have been sitting in my unused box way too long.

I first stamped the backgrounds using the Ellen Hutson Fa La La  stamp onto linen cardstock. The pine needles were cut using  The Greetery Pine Wisp Die. I inked one set of three with peeled paint and forest moss distress ink for a traditional look and a set of two with distress oxide iced spruce and bundled sage for a softer look.

To anchor the pine wisps I added a strip of silver metallic cardstock and a bow cut with a die from the The Greetery Fit to Be Tied set on the first card. For the second one I wrapped silver cording around the image panel, tied in a bow, then glued down portions of the strands. A few pieces of crushed glass were glued onto the pine wishp\s. Both image panels were attached to their respective card bases with a layer of Foam Tape

Products: Ellen Hutson stamp, The Greetery Dies, PTI cs, Michael's metallic cs, Paper Source cording, Ranger Distress inks

Let's all have a great week! Blessings to you all.

Picket Fence Studios and Heffy Doodle Collaboration

The Picket Fence Studios Design Team members are collaborating with Heffy Doodle today with an Instahop.  If you want to participate in the Instahop start @picketfencestudios. There are prizes available so be sure to check it out. Winners will be announced September 8.

I started out by spraying the back of the Tall Christmas Trees 6x6 Stencil with Pixie Spray, then layered over a piece of paper from the Heffy Doodle Man Cave 6x6 pad (anchored down with strips of low tack tape from the Heffy Doodle Memo Tape Dispenser). I spread Arctic Fox Paper Glaze Luxe over the stencil using the Mixed Media Spatulas. While the glaze was still wet I quickly "decorated" the tree with pieces from the White Bottlecap Flowers. Now this is when I realized I may have messed up because I needed to run this through my diecutting machine with all those sequins on it using a die from the Slim Line Nested Rectangle Die set. But it took it like a champ with not one sequin popping off.

I cut a second piece of the paper from the same pad, then added both to the slim line card base with a border strip of silver metallic cardstock using that sweet Heffy Doodle Glubert. The sentiment from the Joyeux Noel set was stamped direct to paper using blueberry ink. A couple of snowflakes from the Joyeux Noel set was stamped with silvery shimmer ink, cut out with the matching die and attached with foam dimensionals.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, dies and stencil, Heffy Doodle dp, PTI cs, Michael's metallic cs, PFS Paper Glaze Luxe and Sequins, MFT and Delicata Ink

Thank you for stopping by today and don't forget to hop on over to Instagram for a chance to win a prize and to see all the beautiful projects my fellow design team members have created.

Bee Balm

Our small church group of women have been meeting for dinner every two weeks when possible during the summer for fun and fellowship. Last Thursday was our last dinner since we are transitioning to a fall church wide study in September. I used several different products to package up a Burt's Bees Lip Balm for each as a simple token of gratitude.

I worked in assembly line style so I first created the bees using The Greetery Honey Bees die set, cut from true black, harvest gold and white linen cardstock. I added a bit of color to wings with an E81 Copic pen and then assembled the bees.

Next I created the packaging using the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #1 Die which I elongated plus used some off the plate die cutting so I could fold up in order to secure the lip balm. I then created the cutouts using the My Favorite Things Lip Balm Window & Frame. I originally thought I would strictly use a yellow, black and white color scheme but at the last minute decided I wanted to add more color, thus the hawaiian shores frame. I used the Picket Fence Studios Hexagon Randomness Stencil with Aztec Sunflowers Paper Glaze Luxe to partially add the small hexagons and then lightly blended bright buttercup ink on the opposite side.

I cut the leaves from green parakeet cardstock using a die from The Greetery Summer Findings Die set and a flower from the Spring Findings Die set. I was a little "extra" by cutting the tiny flower center to match the lip balm cap. After attaching the bee, leaves and flower to each, I inserted and glued down the back of the  Lip Balm Pouches, added the lip balm, folded up the tag and tied with yellow cording.

Products: The Greetery, Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things dies, PTI cs, Picket Fence Studios Stencil and Paper Glaze, MFT Lip Balm pouches, PTI ink

Can you believe it took all these products for these tiny little packages?

Let it Snow {Picket Fence Studios}

Today's card is another one I created using products from the August Picket Fence Studios release.

I did a bit of partial cutting to create the front of this card sing the Animal Crackers: Christmas Wishes stamp and die set and colored with Copic markers. I then used the die only to cut the patterned paper to line the card front. I cut the Let it Snow Word die from white linen cardstock twice, layered together and attached to the card front. A few "candies" from the Traditional Christmas Candy Mix added a few splashes of colors. I used the same patterned paper to cover up the exposed inside portion, then rounded the corners on each side.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamp and dies, Avery Elle dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, PFS Sequins, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bird-E21, E22, E24, BG10, BG11, BG15; Pig-E00, E01, E11, R81, YG01, YG03, YG13; Cat-YR30, Y21, Y23, Y35, E81, R22, R24, R27; Bunny-W00, E81, G000, G00, G02; Reindeer-E40, E41, E42, E30, E33; Raccoon-W1, W2, W5, W7, R22, R24, R27; Dog-N3, N7, E81, G000, G00, G02; Lamb-C1, C3, C5, W00, E81, G000, G00, G02, YG01, YG03, YG13

Joy Love Peace

I used the sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge (#607) to create today's card.

The birds and greenery images from the My Favorite Things Winter Songbird stamp set were stamped onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut with the matching dies then colored with Copic Markers. I added the various pieces to a pierced edge diecut using a combo of blue and foam dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Mini Merry Messages set onto another pierced edge circle diecut using classic kraft ink. For the remaining circles in the sketch I used dies from the Layered Snowflake Die set (which is apparently retired) using the inlaid die technique.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and dies, RC and PTI cs, Altenew and PTI ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bird-W00, E81, E84, E87, YR31; Clothing-BG70, BG000, BG72, BG75, C00, C1, C3; Leaves-YG91, YG93; Berries/Flower-BV02, BV04

Soon it Will Be Christmas Day {Purple Onion Designs}

If you have a wish list, now is a great time to fill it because this is the final day of the 25% off sale to commemorate the 19th anniversary of Purple Onion Designs. Nineteen years is a long time for anything but especially in this business. Michele has done it through hard work, great customer service and amazing illustrators.

Speaking of illustrators, todays card features images by Stacey Yacula (@staceyyacula). I started out by stamping Claus (bunny) Mary (bird) onto Copic friendly cardstock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I then stamped the Pine Tree Farm image across an A2 card front, cut out with a stitched edge die and colored the trees with Copics. I masked the image, then blended on broken china distress ink for the sky. After attaching the bunny and bird to the background piece with foam dimensionals, I sprinkled on white acrylic paint with a fan brush to represent snow. The sentiment stamped with cherry kisses ink came from the Essential Holiday Greetings set.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI cs, Altenew, Ranger Distressand The Stamp Market ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42, W00, E81, R00, R02, R21, R22, R24; Trees-YG41, YG45, E31, E33, E35; Bird-W1, W2, W5, E50, E51, YR31, BG0000, BG000, BG01, E81

{The Cat's Pajamas} A Musical Christmas

I have another Christmas card for you today. I am really on a roll which I hopes means I won't be short on cards in December.

I sound like a broken record at this point but I always loved this image from the physical set. I am so glad Alma has included in the digital images now. I used the Silhouette software to place the snowman, musical notes and sentiment from the Let the Flakes Fly and then printed onto Copic friendly cardstock.

Using a Copic pen, I added stripes to one of the snowmen's scarf and also the snow bank. I cut out with a stitched edge circle die, then colored with Copics. I painted on some sparkle paper glitz onto the snow bank and sprinkled on some snowfall glitter. I added a red cardstock tag to the left side of the image circle and tied twine and cord around it. Before attaching to the hawaiian shores card base, I slipped a snowflake spray underneath it cut with a retired TCP die.

Products: The Cats Pajamas Digital stamp, PTI cs, The Twinery twine, Hemptique cord, PFS Paper Glitz, Hero Arts Glitter, Copic Markers

After stamping Taurus Girl onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers giving her Cruella type hair color. Not all witches are ugly doncha know?! With Sympathy

I am sure I am not alone when I say one of the hardest type of cards to make are sympathy cards. In my humble opinion, a clean and simple design works best.

In keeping with the CAS design choice, I used the inlaid die technique for this card, using the mat portion of the
 More Ash Leaves Dies to cut from a stitched white linen rectangle cardstock piece. This piece was layered over rock candy cardstock. I then cut the top portion of the leaves from off white cardstock and blended iced spruce and bundled sage oxide ink over them using some of the smaller brushes from the Life Changing Blender Brushes. These were then inlaid into the opening spaces. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the versatile Fancy Life Events Sentiments set using Versamark ink, white heat embossed and then cut out with the matching die

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and dies, PTI and Simon Says cs, Ranger Distress Oxide and Versamark ink

If you are interested in the ink swatches in the above photo, check out my post on the Picket Fence Studios blog where you will also see this card.

A Caffeine Christmas

Today's card was created for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #8 to include cute critters.

I have had the Lawn Fawn Woodland Critter Huggers and Woodland Critter Huggers Winter Add-Ons die sets for a while now but never managed to use them. This challenge gave me the impetus to open them out of their packages. Foxes are just so darn cute so that is the critter I decided on. I cut the various pieces from cardstock and patterned paper and the assembly was easily accomplished. I attached the assembled fox to a subtle patterned paper background, then added a snowy bank onto which I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Christmas Dreams set using tropic teal ink. I partially slipped a layered snowflake underneath the fox which were cut with dies from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes set.

Products: Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, Carta Bella dp, PTI and MFT cs, The Stamp Market ink

Have a blessed week.
