Happy Holidays to You & Yours {Purple Onion Designs}

Whenever I am feeling a little down, I reach for my Purple Onion Designs stamps. There is just something about the sweet expressions on all the critters illustrated by Stacey Yacula (@staceyyacula) that make me smile.

One of my favorite images is Cedar (fox) and after stamping him onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. To give him a wooded background I blended pinefeather and soft stone ink onto a stitched panel using the Hero Arts Birch Trees Stencil. After attaching Birch to the panel using foam dimensionals, I added a sentiment from the Holiday Blurbs set stamped with pinefeather ink. I used the Picket Fence Studios String of Lights die to cut from white cardstock and and added carribean ocean Nuvo drops to represent the lights, attaching to the trees for a festive feel in the forest.

A Day for Snowflakes {Picket Fence Studios}

Today's cards feature the big snowflakes dies from Picket Fence Studios

I started out by using the Snowflake Frost Die to cut from vellum for the mat portion and linen cardstock for the actual snowflake. I painted on some Sparkle Paper Glitz for a hint of shine on the snowflake. While the snowflake dried, I blended Rudolph's Nose Velvet Glaze over the Christmas Ornaments 6x6 Stencil using a Mixed Media Spatula onto white cardstock, eliminating the ornament top and bow portion. After the piece dried, I cut it out with a circle die. I stamped the smallest holly and berry leaves from the Seasonal Christmas Flowers twice onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers, attaching to the top of the ornament.I also painted on Mistletoe Velvet Glaze onto the edge of a piece of cardstock, and then cut off two small strips for borders when dried. The sentiment from the Swanky Christmas Sentiments was stamped directly onto the card front using gala red ink. After attaching the matted snowflake, I added the ornament circle using a layer of craft foam and the border strips for contrast.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, dies and stencil, PTI cs, Paper Source Vellum, PFS Velvet Glaze, Altenew and WPlus9 ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Leaves-G12, G14, G17; Berries-R11, R14, R17

I nested both of the dies from
Snowflake Crystal Die set to cut from both white linen and spring rain cardstock so that I cut have a "frame" around the snowflake. This resulted in a card front cutout as well and I assembled all of the pieces together and glued onto an acetate sheet. I added various Foam Tape on the back in order to capture the shaker pieces from the Plum Pudding Sequin MixWinter Snowfall Paper Velvet blended over the Winter Rings 6x6 Stencil in three of the corners added some texture. I added a few more of the sequins in the bottom left corner before the paper velvet dried. The sentiment from the There's a Feeling of Christmas was stamped onto a wild wisteria cardstock piece with silver metallic cording added for more sparkle.

Merry Wishes

Good morning stamping friends. Today's card was created for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #9 to include candy or cookie. I managed to include both.

After stamping the images from the
Lawn Fawn Thanks a Latte set I cut out with the matching dies and colored with Copic markers. I also did the same for the gingerbread cookie from the Oh Snap stamp and die set. To prepare the background i stamped the Picket Fence Studios Brick Wall image onto a linen cardstock piece using soft stone ink, added a patterned paper border at the bottom, then cut out with a die from The Greetery Nordic Frames. After all the images were attached to the card front using foam dimensionals, I stamped the sentiment and flourish from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings set using cherry kisses ink.

Mr. Frost Comes to Town Card Kit {Picket Fence Studios}

The limited edition Mr. Frosty Comes to Town Kit is available to purchase now! Nicole will be showcasing the kit tonight in the Picket Fence Studios Facebook Community at 6pm CDT so be sure to check it out.

I had so much fun creating projects from this kit which is filled with Christmas and winter goodness. This is the second kit from Picket Fence Studios and I know you are going to love it as much as I do. Everything I mention in bold is included in the kit. So let's get started!

First up is a slim line card. I stamped the snowman from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. I used a die from the Slim Line Nested Rectangle Die Set to cut the Blue and Black Pearlescent Cardstock for the background then attached the image using a layer of craft foam. I painted on some Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet onto plain white cardstock, then after the glaze dried, I cut out several snowflakes using the More Winter Snowflake Dies and applied a couple of layers of Sparkle Paper Glitz. The partial sentiment from the stamp set was stamped onto a strip of the White Pearlescent Cardstock using something borrowed ink. I cut a strip from the Cerulean Blue Cork Fabric, added a bit of Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet on the ends, then cut some "fringe" using the piece as an additional scarf. It was attached and anchored with one of the snowflakes cut earlier. Another snowflake and a few the Snowflake Sequin/Clay Mix pieces provided the finishing touch.

Copics: Snowman-W00, E81, R00, R01, R05, B21, YR01, YR04, B23, B26, R01, R05; Hat-C00, C1, C3, C5, B21, B23, B26; Holly/Berries-R11, R14, G12, G14; Ear Muffs-B21, B23, B26, G0000, G000, G00, G12; Scarf-B21, B23, B26

For my second card, I painted on the Sparkle Paper Glitz onto plain white cardstock. Once dried, I cut out all five snowflakes from the More Winter Snowflake Dies then attached to the Blue Pearlescent Cardstock background panel. Aren't they pretty? The sentiment from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set was stamped using dove gray ink onto a strip cut from the White Pearlescent Cardstock, then attached with foam dimensionals.

For the third card I attached one of the Silver Snowflake Diecuts offset on the White Pearlescent Cardstock background panel. For the two layered snowflakes I used the largest die from the More Winter Snowflake Dies. To achieve the look I wanted I painted on the Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet onto plain white cardstock, then cut out when dried and applied a couple of layers of Sparkle Paper Glitz. I then custom mixed the Nordic Lights and Sparkle Glitz and painted onto the plain white snowflake. The sentiment from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set was stamped directly onto the panel using dove gray ink A smattering of the Snowflake Sequin/Clay Mix pieces added even more sparkle.

My extremely talented fellow design team members will have so much more to show you using this beautiful kit.

To all a Good Night {Picket Fence Studios}

Today's card was created using products from the September Picket Fence Studios release.

Onto plain white cardstock, I blended on bright buttercup at the bottom to represent city lights, then faded jeans at the top and blueprint sketch distress ink along the edges to represent the night sky. After cutting out the inked piece with a stitched edge die, I stamped the sentiments from the To all a Good Night onto it using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed. I used the Slim Line City Skyline die to cut twice from smoke cardstock. I added the first piece a half an inch above the bottom of the background and trimmed off the edges. The second layer was offset from the first layer and attached with strategically placed foam dimensionals for a Christmas in the city look. A few sequins from the Winter Night Sequin Mix finished it up.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and die, PTI and Simon Says cs, PFS Sequins, Ranger Distress and PTI ink

Hello fellow stampers. I am excited to be playing along with the great people over at Simon Says Stamp for their annual STAMPtember. The collaboration of the day is with Picket Fence Studios! The STAMPtember sets are a limited edition and once they are gone, they are gone!

I stamped the sweet reindeer image from the Trimming the Tree set, fussy cut out and colored with Copic markers. To prepared the background I partially blended Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze Velvet and Lime Zinnia Paper Glaze over the Slim Line Winter Rings Stencil using a spatula. After removing the stencil I quickly placed pieces from the Dancing Reindeer Embellishments jar onto the wet mix. After the background dried, I added a few more embellishments and a small strip of metallic cardstock. The sentiment from the set was stamped with Versamark and white heat embossed onto a red cardstock piece. Both the sentiment and stamped image were attached with foam dimensionals.

Using the same ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Sweetest Season Sentiment Set . This sweet, sweet bunny was attached using foam dimensionals.

September 2022 Picket Fence Studios Release

Well hello there. It's the 14th of the month so it is time for the September Picket Fence Studios release. We are continuing with the fall and winter holidays and events so you will see Halloween, Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas images in this release.

We are celebrating the release with an Instahop on Instagram. If you want to participate in the Instahop start @picketfencestudios. There is a great prize available so be sure to check it out. You have until Sunday, September 18, 2022  at 11:59 CDT to participate.

For my first card, I cut a top folding A2 card base, then trimmed one inch off the left front side so that the front measured 3.25 by 5.5. For the inside exposed area, I used Caught in MyWeb to stamp with Versamark ink onto a purple cardstock strip and white heat embossed. I trimmed the piece to 1.25 by 5.5 and attached to the inside edge then adhered a couple of spider pieces from the Spidey Friends Sequin Plus Mix to the web image. I then cut a 3.25 by 5.5 gray cardstock piece and used the Slim Line Cloud Coverage Stencil and black soot ink to create a dark cloudy sky. I stamped the moon from the A Nightly Sky set released last month onto to the piece using Versamark ink, then silver metallic heat embossed it. I stamped the cat from the Cat Plays Fiddle to the Silver Moon onto white cardstock and cut out with the matching die and also stamped the sentiment using onto a black cardstock stitched edge circle and white heat embossed. Both pieces were attached to the card front using foam dimensionals with the cat tail hanging off the side of the card front. A few pieces from the Halloween Felines Sequin Mix finished it up. There are more views of this card on Instagram.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, die and stencil, Reverse Confetti dp, Simon Says, Bazzill and PTI cs, PFS Sequin Mix, Ranger Distress, Versamark and Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Fiddle-V12, V15, V17; Cat Eyes-YG01

I partially stamped the image from the Fall Colors are the Best of All stamp set onto Copic friendly cardstock, then cut out with a circle die and colored with Copic Markers. I splashed on some slightly watered down brown acrylic paint with a Fan Brush, then added more water to the paint and and tapped more of the mixture on to it. This way, I easily achieved different "splotch" sizes. While the piece dried, I blended harvest gold ink over the Shadow of Leaves Stencil around the circle cutout of the panel. The sentiment was stamped using rich cocoa ink. I placed the circle back in the cutout space and added a border cut from teal blue cardstock using one the dies from the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies set.

Christmas Animals {Picket Fence Studios}

I've been going through some personal things this month so please excuse my neglect. I pray life gets much better soon.

Since a new release is in a few days I thought I better get today's card posted especially since it's probably been completed for a month now.

I stamped the bear. Santa's sleigh and gifts from A Polar Bear Christmas using black ink and the Christmas tree and banner were stamped using bamboo leaves ink. All were cut out with the matching dies and colored with Copic markers whee appropriate. The Glacier Scenery pieces were stamped using gray flannel ink and cut with the matching dies. The sentiment was stamped onto the small glacier using pure poppy ink. All the image pieces were attached using foam dimensionals against a cardstock background. The tree was decorated using the Scene Building Dies: String of Lights die.
