While coloring up this beautiful girl, I couldn't stop mindlessly humming "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid. I have to hum as I don't know the actual words. And well, face it, my humming is as off tune as my singing anyway. I printed the Sweet November Shimmer Redkelp digital image onto Papertrey Ink cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I cut the image out and then added some beads to the tail using Diamond Glaze. I really didn't have to do much to the background since the Webster's Pages Seaside Retreat paper was perfect for an under the sea theme. I just tried to not get in the way of its beautiful design. I did position the Martha Stewart paper doily behind the mermaid because the edges remind me of coral, plus I liked the pop of white. With the addition of a pearl stickpin with an orange bead threaded through it as her scepter, Shimmer is ready to rule the high seas.

I LOVE this Nancy! You're right, that paper is perfect and I think giving Shimmer a scepter is so clever! Awesome card and with that doily I bet it would qualify for the ATS Wednesday Challenge! http://atsblog.typepad.com/wednesdayschallenge/
