{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Bring on the Cake

***This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps project.***

Welcome to the first day of TCP Sneak Peeks. We have seven days of previews so be sure to check the Dancing In Pajamas blog everyday to see who is on the schedule.  Today we are introducing Bring on the Cake which features your favorite big eared bunny.

I used the also new Chevron CutUps to add subtle interest to the background. I then used papers from the My Mind's Eye Hootenanny 6x6 pad for the other panels. I cut one of the panels using the Big Bracket CutUps and then added some chocolate icing with the Icing CutUps. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I finished things up with my go to embellishment of buttons.

C.C. Designs Review - Drozy's Darlings Trick or Treaters

It's review day on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the August release stamps. Today we are highlighting the Drozy's Darlings line.

Today's card features Trick or Treaters. I colored these up keeping in mind my two grand nieces, Alyssa and Jade and my granddaughter Clara although I will keep to myself which character represents them! I kept the design simple using some older papers from my Ki Memories scrapbook stash. The shaped and hole punched paper also came from my stash and I punched various papers and attached underneath the holes for a bit of added interest. The sentiment is from last years C.C. Designs Halloween Sentiments set.

Peace on Earth

We are having the strangest weather here - the high for the past several days has been a very pleasant 78. It actually feels a bit like early fall. It won't last but I am enjoying it while it's here.

Today's card is for week 1 of the August Verve challenges (VLVAug2013) although I tweaked the sketch a bit. I wanted to make another  Christmas card so I went in search of some uninked Verve goodness and found the Verve Peace On Earth set in a box where I have segregated my Christmas stamps and 6x6 pads. I stamped the verse with Memento Paris Dusk ink onto paper from the new Teresa Collins Santa's List pad, cutting out and matting with a Spellbinders Nestie. I stamped the tree with Fresh Ink (birch) using Papertrey Ink's In the Meadow set and cut out with the matching die, then adding the Making Memories cardinal brad. I set everything against the starry paper from October Afternoon and added more paper from the Santa's List pad for the background.

Joyride Artist Trading Cards

I recently participated in an ATC swap in The Cat's Pajamas forum over at Splitcoaststampers.  The only requirement was to use The Cat's Pajamas stamps/dies. I chose to use a summer roadtrip theme featuring the image from the Joyride stamp set. My set has no two alike although there are common elements on all of them. In addition to the same primary image I included either a tag shape cut with the Luggage Tags CutUps or the notebook edge from the Toppers CutUps, dry embossing, hot summer colors from the Simple Stories Sn@p Color Vibe 6x6 pad, at least two embellishments (sequins/pearls/jewels) and sentiments and/or icons.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Simple Stories dp, Studio Calico sequins, Kaisercraft jewels and pearls, May Arts ribbon, PTI buttons, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E50, E51, E53; Scooters/Scarves-YR30, YR31, Y35, N1, N3, N5, B0000, B000, B01, YR12, YR14, YR16

Star of Wonder

Good morning. I finally had a chance to start the August Verve challenges (VLVAug2013). This card is actually for week 2 even though I don't have week 1 completed yet.

I received some brand new Christmas papers in the mail last week and knew immediately that this sketch was perfect for the Teresa Collins Santa's List pad. I combined them with a stamp from the Verve Star of Wonder set. I stamped the text onto a piece cut with a Lifestyle Crafts nesting die and then matted it. I cut the star with a Papertrey Ink die and then covered it with Silver Ranger Stickles. The camera made it look dark but it's really very light and silvery in real life. I layered it with a mini doily cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics and then added a snowflake cut with a Taylored Expressions die, topping it with a small clear rhinestone. A few sequins completed the clean, simple and elegant look I wanted. I'm really wanting to do more simple with no extra postage required Christmas cards this year.

Amalia's Daisy

Life is good on the crafty front. I have two sets of design team stamps here to work on plus I'm getting some challenges completed in between. I have a few relatively free days that I hope to get all kinds of creative!

I double dipped on today's card. I used a Deconstructed Sketch from last week (DS113) for the layout and the color scheme of Grey, Pink and Turquoise for the current There She Goes Challenge (TSG220).  Due to an order mishap I have a whole package of these pretty grey chevron mini bags so I was glad to see a chance to use one of them. I folded down the top edge and then placed my sweet There She Goes Amalia's Daisy image on it. I also combined patterned papers from two My Mind's Eye pads, last year's A Mother's Love and the new Cut & Paste Adorbs. I kept things simple, just adding a ribboned bow and a few sequins.

Products: There She Goes stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, MFT ribbon, Liquid Pearls, Copic Markers

A Sweet Season (August TCP Tuesday)

TCP Tuesday for August is in full swing. The challenge this month is to create a tall card to fit inside a business envelope.

I usually make at least a few Christmas cards in this size every year so that's what I decided to do with the challenge. I cut out the gingerbread boy from pre-corrugated cardstock using the Man CutUps. I stamped the eyes from the Homemade for the Holidays cling set to use as a guideline for the rhinestones eyes. I found the ric rac trim in my stash and added two Queen and Co Candy Stripers for the "candy" buttons. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the pieces from the Circus Panels CutUps and then matted with another of the pieces from the set. I created a border using some wide May Arts ribbon layered with seam binding onto which I added a button and two stickpins.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Authentique dp, Seam binding, Queen and Co embellishments, Kaisercraft jewels, Maya Road and Fancy Pants stickpins, May Arts ribbon, Making Memories button

Here are the details to the challenge:
  1. The first Tuesday of the month Alma will post a challenge on the Dancing in Pajamas blog. The challenge will also be posted on the TCP Splitcoaststampers forum and on the TCP Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design right on the Dancing in Pajamas blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of this blog so you don't have to search around). If you want to display your pretties on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUESAUG13.
  3. The Challenge will be a month-long challenge and you can play as many times as you like during that month.
  4. Cards and projects must have at least one Cat's Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die in the project.
  5. On the First Monday of the Month a winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and crowned Swanky Stamper.
  6. The Swanky Stamper will not only be acknowledged as the Swankiest Stamper for that month, but will also receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. AND... They'll even get a special spot in the Gallery highlighting the project that won them the gig AND as snazzy badge to display on their blog.
  7. The winner will be announced the First Monday of the month on Splitcoaststampers, Facebook page and this Blog.
