I managed to get this card for The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday challenge (TCPTUES166) completed despite the fact that there was a lot of noise and interruptions with some construction workers all over the back of our house. They are trying to find a mystery leak. I shudder to think what the final bill is going to be on this endeavor. And of course I am worried about how we are going to pay for it but since I am a Southern Belle I'm going to play Scarlet and think about that tomorrow.
The challenge is an inspiration one. I loved the pink and yellow colors plus the birthday theme is always a good one. I have a granddaughter who will be three years old next month so this is for her. I stamped the A Girl and Her Cake image onto X-Press It cardstock and then cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities with some "out of the circle" work so that her ears fell outside of it. I really used the power of three on this, three circles at the top and at the bottom, then the three candles. The candles are actually paper straws that I found on Etsy. I bought a variety pack so that I would have them in several colors so take that as a warning that you will be seeing them again. I cut them to a shorter length with a Fiskars Fingertip Knife and then used a very old Quickutz candle die for the flames. I also used another flame to dot the "i" in the sentiment. I combined a hodgepodge of paper, Doodlebug, Ki Memories and Cosmo Cricket.
