All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Inspiration

Good morning. I have another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge today which is an inspirational photo.

I was mainly inspired by the colors and the flowers in the photo. I love pink in every shade and the papers from the Echo Park Victorian Garden were perfect for this beautiful Sweet November Coriander image. After coloring up the image with Copics I cut it out and then attached her to a Martha Stewart paper doily. Some strategically placed pop dots gave her some dimension.

Products: Sweet November stamp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, My Mind's Eye button, Echo Park dp, Kaisercraft pearls, Martha Stewart paper doily, Copic markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Hair-E50, E51, E53; Dress-RV00, RV10, RV32, R81; Wings-G40, G82, G85

I hope you will join in on the challenge. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Be sure to link up your project with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10PM EST and only one entry per person please.

Sew Simple

Hello there! I finally broke out the My Favorite Things Sew Nifty set which is a combination of stamps and Die-namics. I love sewing images and have so many ideas for this particular set. I was already working on a gift set of cards using these stamps with my fabulous new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 pads when this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club (MFTWSC34) sketch challenge was posted. So I decided to use the sketch for one of the cards.

The first card is the one that uses the MFT sketch and features the MME "Rosy" pad. I stamped the dress form image onto patterned paper and then cut with the matching Die-namic. I used the My Mind's Eye Princess stamps on the second panel - stamping directly onto the patterned paper. I also stamped and diecut the spool and then wrapped some twine around it and inserted two button head stickpins. The sentiment also comes from the same set although I had to parse it to fit the label.

My second card in the set uses the MME "Blush" pad. I stamped the dress form image onto patterned paper and then cut with the matching Die-namic.  I intertwined the flourish diecut around the dress form. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the patterned paper. Easy and oh so vintage.

The third card in the set was even easier as the patterned paper did most of the work for me. I used the MME "Sunshine" pad which is my favorite of the whole Lost and Found 2 group. I cut the dressform using the same MFT Die-namic as before. Some buttons and a fluffy bow and it was done. Absolutely no stamping on this one.

The last card features the MME "Breeze" pad. I stamped the sewing machine onto the patterned paper and then cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. The second panel features the dress form die again. I added some crinkled seam binding, a decorative brad, a button and the Dritz stickpins again to complete it.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and Die-namics, My Mind's Eye dp, decorative brad and stamps, PTI buttons, Dritz stickpins, Spellbinders Nestabilities

That's it for the day. Thanks for stopping by.

Skateboard Bunny

I hope all my east coast friends and readers in the path of Hurricane Irene stay safe. My hope is that it turns east and goes out to sea instead.

Today's card is for this week's The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday (TCPTUES173) color challenge of Cornflower Blue, Orange and Chocolate Brown.  I used my favorite of all the bunny stamps "Skating Bunny". The last time I used him, I replaced his ice skates with roller skates. This time I cut away the blades and  I placed him atop a layered skateboard sticker from Ki Memories. I'm not sure my blue is the right shade but apparently cornflower blue is not a color in my stash.

Copics: Bunny-E50, E53, E35, E37, E29; Scarf-B21, B45; Boots-YR12, YR14, E99

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Color

Welcome to another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge. Today's challenge is to use the colors blue, brown and moss green.

In going through my stamps I realized how much I love this Sweet November Meadow image yet for some reason I haven't used it in a while. The earthtone color challenge is perfect for him. I decided to do something a bit different for me in that I stamped the image onto kraft Bazzill Basics cardstock. I didn't seem to blend my colors very well. But hey, I'm going to blame it on the cardstock. The patterned paper is a combo of My Mind's Eye and some older Pink Paislee.

Products: Sweet November stamp, My Mind's Eye and Pink Paislee dp, PTI buttons and sentiment stamp, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: E50, E53, E55, E57, E29, W00, W1

I hope you will join in on the challenge. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Be sure to link up your project with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10PM EST and only one entry per person please.

Just a Note

It's a new week so that means that the construction workers will be back just one more time to do the last bit of repair on our house. We've had a mysterious leak and therefore some damage around our fireplace for a while now and then we had some minor damage here and there from the tornado back in April. Hopefully it will all be over soon. Of course, then we get the bill and I'm definitely not looking forward to that part of the deal. Oh, and my garbage disposal died last week too. I thought I could do without it for a while since we're spending so much on other repairs but I'm already figuring out that I don't know how to live without it.

Today's card is just one of three I managed to complete on Sunday. Most of them I can't show you yet but I created this one for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club (MFTWSC33) sketch challenge. I stamped and colored the You're So Tweet Pure Innocence image, paper piecing the dress portion. I then masked the image and stamped the musical notes from The Cat's Pajamas The Tweetest Things set. The sentiment also came from the same TCP set. I used paper from my newest My Mind's Eye pads (Rosy and Sunshine).

Adore You

TGIF! We've had workers making all kinds of horrible noises on the back of our house all week and I'm ready for some peace and quiet. At one time, the hardwood floors were actually vibrating.

I created today's card based on the sketch over at the My Mind's Eye blog. I used my new favorite MME 6x6 pad "Sunshine" from the Lost and Found 2 collection. I absolutely love this paper. Not a lot of stamping on this one other than the sentiment which echoes the printed sentiment on the patterned paper. I stayed with the bones of the sketch; however, I did flip it portrait style.

Have a fantastic weekend!

You Put the Song in My Heart

Today's card is for this week's The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge (TCPTUES172) which is to use felt. I stamped the branches from the The Cat's Pajamas The Tweetest Things set twice, colored with Copics and then cut out. That's basically the only stamping other than the sentiment which I stamped directly onto the background paper. The rest is all diecuts including the felt leaves. I used the coordinating CutUp set (Home Tweet Home) to cut the birdhouses. The background paper is from the Echo Park Country Drive collection and I tried to place the branches and birdhouses in such a manner that it appears a bird is inside the birdhouses. Easy peasy!

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Sketch

Happy Hump Day to you! I created today's card for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge which is a sketch.

I have to admit that I struggled with the sketch at first but once I flipped it vertically it became a bit easier for me. I still love this Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss pad and really wanted to use more of it before the summer is over so I went in search of a image to match it. I selected the dolphin from the Ocean Wavedancer (mermaid) stamp. Once I printed it on Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and cut it out. The sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas Whale of a Time set which I cut out with the TCP Wave CutUps. I did have to position it somewhere else once I changed the orientation of the sketch.

Copics: C00, C1, C3

Please join in on the sketch challenge this week. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Sweet November August Review Preview

Good morning. The August Review Preview of the Sweet November Fairwee release is going on over at the All That Scraps blog today and I am joining in again this month.

I combined two of the Fairwees Emaline and Daphne. To me they both looked like they were on their way to a fairy birthday party in their sweet dresses. I received the Fairwee stamps and the My Favorite Things Perfect Pinwheel and Stamp set from the All That Scraps store the same week and I thought they went perfect together for the party look I wanted to achieve. I made the card base very short and then attached the pinwheel in such a way that it still made the whole thing A2 sized, basically a modified tent card. The pinwheel stem is a paper straw. This is a greeting card but I think would also make a great place card for a festive tablescape. The patterned paper is all Pink Paislee Soiree with the exception of the yellow and white banner strip which is Echo Park.

Products: Sweet November stamps, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Pink Paislee and Echo Park dp, PTI buttons, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E33, E55, E57 (Emaline) and YR30, YR31, Y23, Y26 (Daphne); Dress/Shoes-R00, R01, R02 (Emaline) and B0000, B000, B01, RV00, RV23, RV04(Daphne); Wings-C00, C1

Check out the All That Scraps blog for more projects featuring the August Sweet November collection. And don't forget that the new Fairwees collection is now available in the All That Scraps store along with all the other Sweet November stamps!

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Happy Monday morning to you. Did you have a good weekend? I had a productive one which is good because we will be having some work done on the house this week so I'm expecting lots of distractions and noise.

Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club (MFTWSC32) sketch challenge. I've had this cute MFT Cheerleader P.I. for a while now but had not yet inked her up. Now seems like a great time as football season is just around the corner. Of course she had to be an Alabama cheerleader so I colored her up in red and white. I used some My Mind's Eye tinsel trim to create the pom poms. The green represents the football field - all the other colors and patterns, especially the houndstooth is all University of Alabama. I plan on sending this to a huge Alabama fan when it gets a little closer to the first game.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, My Mind's Eye dp and trim, American Crafts ribbon, Jenni Bowlin letter stickers, PTI felt, Copic Markers

Have a great week. Thank you for stopping by.

Peace on Earth

Today's cards are for this week's The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday challenge (TCPTUES171) which is an inspirational one. This is a great challenge for me as I really need to get more Christmas cards done so I'm not working in a panic in December. This time last year  I had 1/3 of my cards completed. This year - well - not so much. In fact I made two cards for this challenge, not for extra brownie points but because I really need to jumpstart the Christmas card task.

For my first card, I stamped the bird from The Tweetest Things set with white ink onto red cardstock, sprinkled with white detail embossing powder and then heat set. I cut it out with the matching CutUp. I attached to the card background with pop dots. The Hero Arts sentiment was cut with circle Spellbinders Nestabilities. As you can see, I kept it clean and simple.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Hero Arts sentiment, My Favorite Things Die-Namics, SEI dp, Bo Bunny jewels, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities

Since my first card was on the more elegant side, I decided for a more fun look on the second. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas Just Chillin bunny onto Copics X-Press It blending card and then cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities allowing one ear to fall outside of the circle. I raided my large Christmas paper stash and found some older patterned papers for the layout.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, Cosmo Cricket and Creative Imaginations dp, PTI die, sentiment stamp and buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers
Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42; Coat-R22, R24, R27; Water-BG70, BG72; Shadows-C00, C1

That's it for today. I hope your Sunday is nice and relaxing.

Go Fly a Kite

I have a list of things to do a mile long today which is why I am later than normal with posting. So I will get right to my project. This is my entry for the August Sketch for You to Try. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas Up, Up and Away image onto Copics X-Press it blending cardstock, colored with Copics and then  cut out.The paper is a mix of My Little Shoebox, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park. I'm trying to make more masculine looking cards so I tried to keep the frou frou to a minimum.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Little Shoebox, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park dp, PTI button, Cuttlebug embossing folder,Copic Markers

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Paper Buttons

Good morning. It's time for another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge. The challenge today is to make your own paper buttons. Check out this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.

I actually made my paper buttons a bit different from the tutorial. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Button Quartet to cut from patterned paper and then again from plain thin chipboard for dimension. I glued them together and then coated with Crystal Laquer. While my buttons were drying I stamped and colored this cute C.C. Designs Sugarplums Polar Bear image. The Crate Paper Snow Day pad was a favorite from last year and I used the buttons to decorate the various trees. I wanted this to have a more masculine feel plus it will be nice not to have to add extra postage for the hard buttons.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Crate Paper dp, Copic Markers
Copics:  E40, E41, E42, E44

I hope you will set aside some time to join in on the challenge.

Love is a Journey

Today's card was for the bride and groom of a wedding we attended this weekend. The parents of the bride were old friends of my husband so I wanted to make a special card for them. They live in France so I decided to add some French flair to my card. I stamped the Eiffel Tower on one of the strips and heat embossed with some Black Diamonds embossing powers. I know an Eiffel Tower is rather ubiquitous as the French are probably a lot more blase' about the Eiffel Tower than I am. I have traveled to Europe to several countries but France is one of those I have yet to go to. It's on my bucket list. I stamped a sentiment from the My Favorite Things Sentimental About the Journey (I parsed it somewhat) and then cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I followed this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch Challenge (MFTWSC31).  The paper is from the Authentique Uncommon 6x6 pad.

Products: My Favorite Things sentiment stamp and Die-namics, Above the Mark stamp, Authentique patterned paper. Kaisercraft pearls and jewels, May Arts ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities

And a word about Authentique. I bought a couple of the 6x6 pads, Uncommon used here and Splendid. I was itching to get the yellow/grey/black pad as that is a favorite color combo but I decided to hold out for the My Mind's Eye Sunshine pad instead. The paper is very nice and crisp. My only complaint is that when I tore out a page, the pad separated. Considering I used four different patterns, my pad is now in four different pieces. The anal part me of doesn't like that although in the grand scheme of things probably not that big a deal.

Have a great week.

Nesting

Good morning. I hope you are having a nice Sunday.

I created today's card using the sketch for this week's The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge (TCPTUES170). I bought the "Nesting" set in the last release but had not managed to use it yet. I stamped the two birds and the eggs onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and cut out. I then stamped a couple of branches from a Taylored Expressions set and then perched the red bird onto one of them and placed the eggs in the nest created with the Rolled Nest die. The "mom" bird hovers quietly by watching over her eggs. The patterned paper is mostly Jenni Bowlin with a bit of Crate Paper.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and die, Jenni Bowling and Crate Paper dp, Taylored Expressions stamp and die, My Favorite Things die, PTI buttons, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Fluttering By

Happy TGIF! It's been a long week and I am ready for the weekend.

So let's get straight to today's card. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas Flutter By image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock. After cutting out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities with a bit of out of the box action, I colored with Copic Markers. I followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch (202) for the basic design although I did turn it for a vertical view rather than landscape. The patterned paper is a combo of My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Mind's Eye and Crate paper dp, Martha Stewart punch, PTI buttons, American Crafts ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Bunny-E510, E51, E53, B0000, B000, B01; Net-R30, R32, R35

That's it for today. I hope you have a great weekend.
