The Sugar Bowl May "Anything Goes" Challenge

Today's card is for The Sugar Bowl May "Anything Goes" challenge.

I printed the Sugar Nellie Love Songs digital image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and then colored with Copic markers. The sentiment from the Purple Onion Designs Homegrown Sentiments set was stamped onto a tag cut with a Wplus9 die.  I prepared the background with patterned papers from the Pebbles Sunny Side pad and then attached the image and tag with dimensional tape.

Products: Sugar Nellie digital stamp, Purple Onion Designs stamp, Pebbles dp, PTI  cs, MFT cs and die, Wplus9 die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Stampin' Up ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Dog-C00, C1, C3, C5, C7; Guitar-R0000, RV00, R81, R83, BG0000, BG10; Shadows-BG70, BG0000, BG000

It's easy to join the challenge. You must use a Sugar Nellie image for your anything goes challenge and link The Sugar Bowl blog to your post. There is a fun prize involved so pop on over to The Sugar Bowl blog to get all the details.

This will be my last project as a Sugar Bowl Sweetie as I have made the difficult decision to not try out for a third term. I love the Sugar Nellie images but I have a busy summer ahead of me.

{The Cat's Pajamas} TCP Tuesday Inspiration Challenge

It's time for another TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas and I am the hostess for this rotation with an inspiration challenge. The challenge runs for two weeks and The Cat’s Pajamas stamps are not required. See full details at the end of this post.

I was inspired by the colors and floral pieces so I started out by stamping one of the large flowers from the Patterned Petals set onto coral patterned paper using white ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat embossed. I then cut out with the matching die from the Petal Posies CutUps set. I lightly curled up the petals and then attached it to the prepared background panel. The flourishes from the Simply Said set were stamped directly onto the background using Hero Arts Veridian ink. The sentiment (also from the Simply Said set) was stamped onto a strip of cardstock using Hero Arts Fresh Peach ink and then attached with dimensional dots. After stamping the bee from the Hear Me Roar set, I cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers, adding it to the panel with a dimensional dot. A few enamel dots were the only embellishments.

Sending Hedgehugs

Today's card was created for the current Lawnscaping Sketch Challenge (No. 104).

I added a pinked square in blue for the sky and a strip of green to represent grass. The stamped the two images from the Hedgehugs set and then cut out with the matching Hedgehugs Lawn Cuts. After coloring with Copic Markers, I added to the tag using dimensional dots. The tag was finished with Hemptique cord and a button and then attached to the background using dimensional dots.

May You Find Peace

I am double dipping on challenges with today's card. I was inspired by the flowers and the colors of the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Bouquet and used the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch #265 for the layout.

I cut a rectangle piece from white cardstock using a My Favorite Things Pierced die and then stamped one of the images from the My Favorite Things Peaceful Wildflowers set directly onto it. This has been a majorly underused stamp set and I am not sure why as it is beautiful. I stamped the various other flowers using Stampin' Up Pear Pizzazz ink for the greenery portion and MFT Wild Cherry and Wild Wisteria for the flowers. I cut all of them out with the matching MFT Wildflowers dies and then placed them bouquet fashion on the rectangle piece using dimensional dots under the flower portions. I attached to a piece cut from MFT Wild Wisteria cardstock and embossed with a Taylored Expressions embossing folder. The sentiment was stamped onto a double ended fishtail banner, attached with dimensional dots. A few enamel dots finished it up.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps, dies, inks and cs, PTI cs and die, Doodlebug enamel dots, Taylored Expressions embossing folder, Stampin' Up ink

I'll be back soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Love Lives Here {Purple Onion Designs}

I have a project today featuring Purple Onion Designs stamps.

I cut a white rectangle using a My Favorite Things Pierced die and then added the grass piece cut with the a Papertrey Ink In the Meadow die. I stamped the house and the flowers from the Home Sweet Home onto the image background, coloring the flowers with Copic Markers. The house was then stamped onto two different patterned papers, fussy cut out and attached to the background with dimensional tape using the previous stamping as a guideline and also allowing for the outlined portions to remain white for more contrast. The sun was also stamped onto patterned paper, fussy cut out and attached with dimensional tape. The sentiment was stamped onto a heart shape cut with a Reverse Confetti die and placed on the house. I used the colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge (cdt388).

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, Lawn Fawn and Simple Stories dp, Neenah and PTI cs and die, Teresa Collins sequin, MFT and Reverse Confetti dies, Copic Markers

All of these stamps are from the Stephanie Ackerman Designs collection at Purple Onion Designs.

I've been without a laptop for a few days as the power cord died. It arrived today and I am so glad to have my computer back. The Ipad is fun but I can't do any blogging on it.

A Sun and Shield

I haven't really had a chance to play in the Viva la Verve challenges in a while. My goal is to try do all of April if at all possible even though I am already behind. Today's card is for Week 2.

I put my own spin on the sketch by converting it to an A2 size and reducing the size of the background mat. I stamped the sentiment from the Scripture Medley 2 set onto a yellow cardstock circle. Before placing it onto the patterned paper background with dimensional tape, I secured some messy silver thread underneath. I couple of strips of patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Shine Bright pad attached with dimensional tape and a few enamel dots finished it up for a clean and simple card.

Watercolor Heart Flower {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card is a very colorful one. I am not big on techniques but after seeing this video by Laura Bassen I wanted to give it a go.

I used the watercolor on acetate technique using three different colors of Ranger Distress inks, Cracked Pistachio, Mustard Seed and Pickled Raspberry onto Ranger Watercolor paper. After it was dry, I cut a portion of it out with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 2 die. I then stamped the Purple Onion Designs Heart Flower onto it using My Favorite Things Black Licorice ink. I attached the watercolored piece to a white dry embossed background using dimensional tape. I kept the design simple, adding lime green Hemptique cord and a couple of tabs on the sides as the only embellishments.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamp, PTI cs, Hemptique cord, Taylored Expressions embossing folder, Pretty Pink Posh die, Ranger Watercolor cs and inks, MFT ink

Home Sweet Home {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card features a fabulous Purple Onion Designs set Home Sweet Home which is a Stephanie Ackerman design. It's a really fun scene building set.

I stamped the house image onto the patterned paper rectangle  cut with a Lil Inker Designs stitched die and matted it to plain black cardstock cut with a larger stitched die. I stamped again onto two different patterns and the heart image onto another. I fussy cut everything out cutting the innermost lines on the house (so the outside etched lines would show). I attached the house to the background with dimensional tape, then added the heart. I stamped the sentiment onto a patterned paper circle also attaching with dimensional tape. Another small heart and a trio of enamel dots finished it up. Most of the patterned paper came from the WRMK Love Notes pad except the yellow which came from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge pad.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, WRMK and Pink Paislee dp, Reverse Confetti, Lawn Fawn and MFT dies, Doodlebug enamel dots, Simon Says ink

I die cut the cross and shroud from two different wood grain patterned papers using the Old Rugged Cross die set, then attached to the panel with dimensional tape.

Blessed

Today's card is another faith based Easter card.

I cut the cross using the Paper Smooches Crosses die set from a wood grain patterned paper and mirrored gold cardstock. I placed it on a domed piece cut with an MFT die using dimensional dots. I then attached it to the card base using dimensional tape. I used a die from the Religious Words set to cut out from gold mirrored cardstock and cut twice more from plain white cardstock, sandwiching them together to raise the word up. I added colorful flowers and leaves using the Flowers Dies to cut from various patterned paper and cardstock scraps.

Products: Paper Smooches dies, Pebbles, Simple Stories and Doodlebug dp, Recollections and Bazzill cs, PTI cs and buttons. My Favorite Things die

I am entering this card for the current Paper Smooches Spark challenge of anything goes.

Christ is Risen

I have another faith based Easter card for you today.

I started out by cutting the patterned paper background from a very subtle print and then cutting a circle out using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched die. I then used the largest cross from the Taylored Expressions Old Rugged Cross die set to create a cutout across the left side of the circle. I used it again to cut from patterned paper and then inserted in the cutout for an inlaid look and wrapped silver cord around the center. I used the cut piece to gauge where to stamp the sentiment from the Taylored Expressions He is Risen set directly onto the card base using Simon Says black ink. The image piece was attached to the stamped based with dimensional tape and I added a trio of enamel dots for embellishments.

Products: Taylored Expressions stamps and dies, Simple Stories dp, PTI cs, Paper Source cord, Doodlebug enamel dots, Simon Says ink
