Hi There

A good Sunday morning to you!

I have my eye on some new My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads revealed at CHA-S so I've been trying to use the ones I own in order to justify the purchase. I've used my Lime Twist and Stella Rose pads a lot but yet it doesn't look like I've even made a dent. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas Away We Go onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut out. I mounted the stamped piece onto a banner shape cut with a TCP Banner Cutup. I embossed the TCP Cloud Border with my Cuttlebug and then sewed it on with a wavy stitch. I am submitting this for The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge (TCPTUES169) which is to include any TCP transportation type stamp. I actually already had this created before the challenge - love it when things work out like that!

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Favorite Things Die-namics, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI button, Copic Markers

Copics: Balloon-YG01, YG13, YG17, BG70, BG72, BG75, YR12, YR16, YR18, BG0000, BG10,C1; Bunny-E50, E51, E53

I hope all is well with you.

Sweet November Preview Day 3- Josie and Mia

Welcome to the last day of Sweet November stamp previews for August. Today we are featuring the Fairwees "Josie" and "Mia."

First up is Josie. I wanted to also feature the new Sweet November Mason Jar stamp so I decided to make a gift card.  I stamped the jar and then just the lid portion onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, coloring all with Copic markers. I then stamped the jar again onto a piece of acetate with StazOn ink. I made it shaker style by creating a sandwich with a backdoor inside the card so the recipient could easily extricate the money without destroying the card. The Little Something sentiment is new also and goes perfectly with all the Fairwees.

Products: Sweet November stamps, Crate Paper dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, StazOn ink, Copic Markers

Copics: Jar/Lid-BG0000, BG10, BG11, C00, C1, C3, C5; Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E33, E55, E29; Wings-BG0000, BG10, BG11; Clothing/Shoes-Y21, Y23, Y26, R00, R30, R32

Next is Mia and I decided to go a little more "granola" with her. The Swiss Pixies Birdhouse is a digital stamp and be can found here in the All That Scraps store. It is also available in rubber too here. I printed it onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then stamped Fairwee Mia onto the same square, inking around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen. I made the base card skinnier than normal then cut out the main panel with a Lacey Square Spellbinders Nestie. I cut another piece from the same Nestie in order to complete the vertical sides. For the border I first used my Fiskars corrugating tool onto a strip of kraft cardstock. I then cut a strip from it with the new C.C. Designs Fairwee Tiny Scallop die. I dabbed on   some cream and yellow acrylic paint here and there with my finger. The border also disguises the fact that I combined two pieces to make the lacy vertical borders.

Sweet November Preview Day 2 - Emaline and Daphne

Welcome to Day 2 of the Sweet November stamp previews for August.  Today's projects feature the Fairwees "Emaline" and "Daphne."

First up is a card featuring Emaline. After coloring with Copic markers I cut the image out. I then attached it to a Martha Stewart paper doily that I stamped with a Sweet November sentiment that is also part of this release. I used all Pink Paislee Soiree patterned paper.

For my next card I used the Collage sheet from the Pink Paislee Soiree collection for my background panel which makes for a really easy card. I covered up the party reference in the label section with a label diecut that I stamped with a another fun new Sweet November sentiment stamp. I colored up Daphne with Copic Markers giving her some hot pink hair. Easy and fun!

Sweet November Preview Day 1 - Fairwees Jilly and Piper

Welcome to the first of three days of Sweet November stamp previews for August. I couldn't be more excited about the Fairwee collection. I love anything mythical and whimsical and these certainly fit the bill. Now if you were at Summer CHA you may have already seen these. But if like me you weren't (picture sad face here) you are in for a real treat. For the next three days we will be previewing 6 Fairwees plus some extra surprises. Today's projects feature "Jilly" and "Piper." Now how can you go wrong with names like these?

First up is Jilly. I saw a "tiny dancer" vibe to her so I colored her up with the colors that I think of for my beautiful niece Anna who is a ballerina extraordinaire. To reflect Anna's Chinese heritage I gave sweet Jilly some jet black hair and Asian skin. After coloring with Copic markers, I cut her out and placed her among some oldie but goodie embellishments from Making Memories. The patterned paper is Echo Park Be Mine.

Products: Sweet November stamp, Echo park dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, PTI buttons, Making Memories acrylic frame, heart and flower, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E50, E51, E53, E55, E11; Hair-C3, C5, C7, C9; Wings-C00, C1; Dress/Shoes-RV0000, RV00, RV10

Next up is Piper. If I had to pick a favorite in the Fairwee group I would definitely have Piper at the top of the list. She looks as though she fully knows the keys to a happy life. Wouldn't it be nice if we felt that way all the time? I colored her with Copics and then cut out with a Spellbinders Nestie inking around the edges while it was still in the die. I then matted again with two other Nestabilities. The paper is all My Mind's Eye Lime Twist.

Products: Sweet November stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, C.C. Designs Cutters, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Melissa Frances resin piece, Fiskars border punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-YR30, YR31, YR23, Y35; Wings-C00, C1; Dress/Shoes-YG21, YG13, YG23, BG0000, BG10, BG11

These will be available for sale at the All That Scraps store on Monday, August 1. I'll see you back here tomorrow for another Sweet November preview.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Inspiration

It's another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge and it's my favorite kind - an inspiration one. I used a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial for the center step card format. I was inspired by several things in the photo, including the shutters so I paper pleated the side pieces to represent them using yet another tutorial over at Splitcoast. I also loved the sunflowers as well as the overall relaxed feel of the photo. The stamp is C.C. Designs Swiss Pixies Nora on a Swing and the paper is My Mind's Eye.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp, C.C. Cutters, My Mind's Eye dp, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Prima Flower, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E55, E57, E29; Tree-E53, E55, E57; Clothes-BG70, BG72, BG75; Wings/Shoes-Y21, Y23, Y26; Swing-W1, W2, W5

I hope you will join us with the challenge. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Here's to You

After two and half years of coloring with Copics, I finally had to order some re-inkers. I've had two of the earthtones that I use for skin to go completely dry in the past couple of weeks. That figures since I do use the them the most. The problem is no one carries re-inkers here and I had to order online. While I'm waiting on the order, I'm going to have to get real creative with my skin tones! It happened at the right time though as the price increases will take effect August 1.

I am loving the October Afternoon 5 and Dime 8x8 pad. I let it lay here for two weeks before cutting into but now I've made a card with it three weeks in a row. I stamped My Favorite Things Fred Bear in Flight onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, then colored with Copics. I used some Liquid Applique on the cuffs and collar of the jacket to give it a wool look. I followed this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club (MFTWSC29) sketch for the layout.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and Die-namics, October Afternoon dp, PTI felt, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Bear-E50, E51, E53, E55; Jacket/Cap-W1, W2, W5, W7; Scarf-B91, B93, B95, B97; Goggles/Trim-R24, R27, R29

I hope to see you back here soon. I have some super cute Sweet November previews for you starting on Thursday. You are going to love these stamps!

We're Going to Need a Bigger Net

Today's card is for The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge (TCPTUES168) which is a color challenge of Watermelon Red, Pumpkin Orange and Grass Green. These colors said summer to me so I stamped TCP Flutter onto Copics X-Press It blending cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. I paired up this little fellow with the Lacey Butterfly CutUp. My watermelon color looked redder when I first picked out my paper choices - looks more on the pink side than red now.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Echo Park and My Minds's dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Doodlebug jewel, PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Bunny-Y11, Y15, Y17, R20, R22, R24; Butterfly net-YG01, YG13, YG17; Shadows-G0000

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for Making the World a Better Place

I sat down yesterday and finally got a box together for Operation Write Home. It had been way too long since I last donated and the cards have been piling up - 55 of them actually! While getting them ready to ship I noticed yet again that I don't make enough masculine cards.

I created this particular card for "any hero". I love to make these but I admit to not knowing what to write inside and just usually wind up rambling on about a whole lot of nothing. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas's Take off image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities allowing the ears to flop outside of the circle. After coloring with Copic markers, I paired it up with a Verve sentiment and some October 5 and Dime patterned paper (love this 8x8 pad). I followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Verve sentiment, October Afternoon and Jenni Bowlin dp, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E510, E51, E53; Helmet-N1, N5, N7; Goggles/Airplane Wings/Trim-R24, R27, R29; Airplane-C00C1, C3, C5

I hope you are surviving the heat wave. Have a great weekend.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Christmas in July

Happy Hump Day to you! I created today's card for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge which is "Christmas in July". I started my Christmas cards in July last year so this is a timely challenge for me.

I purchased Sweet November Neva late last year so I only managed to get her stamped once. I wanted the whole Snowflake Fairy collection but just didn't quite have the funds at the time to get them all.  After stamping the image onto Copics X-Press It blending cardstock, I cut the image out with a Spellbinders Nestie with some "out of the circle" action. I very lightly sponged around the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink. I colored with Copics, highighting some areas with Lime Green and Frosted Lace Stickles. The patterned paper is The Girl's Paperie, a favorite from last year.

Products: Sweet November stamp, The Cat's Pajamas Cutups, The Girl's Paperie dp, PTI cs, button and ribbon twill, Ranger Stickles, Kaisercraft pearls, Fiskars border punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E50, E51, E53, E55; Clothing-R24, R27, R29; Snowflake-G0000, G20, YG01, YG23

I hope you can join us this week. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Time for a Picnic

I'm in a hurry so I will get right to today's card which is for the July Sketch for You to Try. I haven't stamped this cute Stampavie Sarah Kay in a while. These were my favorite stamps to color when I first got started with Copic markers. I've since expanded my interests but I definitely have not forgotten these. All the paper is My Mind's Eye Lime Twist.

Products: Stampavie stamp, My Minds Eye dp, PTI cs, buttons, stamp and die, Doodlebug brad and button, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E33, E55, E29; Hat/Jeans-E40, E41, E42; Top/Patches/Hatband-R32, R35, R37; Picnic Basket-E53, E55, E57, YG01, YG13, YG23; Flowers-G21, G24, Y35

Sending Well Wishes

Good morning. Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge (MFTWSC28). I needed a get well type card and this MFT Better Get Better Pure Innocence image with her bandaged up teddy fit the bill. I stamped it onto X-Press It cardstock, drew in some socks with a Copic Multi-liner pen and then colored with Copic markers. Instead of the strips of paper, I "bandaged" the card by wrapping the cotton twill around the panel ending in a bow. The paper is all October Afternoon 5 and Dime.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and twill, October Afternoon dp, PTI cs and buttons, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E50, E51, E53, E55; Clothes/Socks-B000, B41, B32, B95, B97, B99; Shoes-C5, C7; Teddy Bear-C00, E33, E55, R29; Shadows-B0000, B000

That's it for today. Have a fantastic weekend.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Side Step Card

I created this for All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge which is to make a "side step card." This type of card is one of those that looks complicated but in fact is rather easy. I started this when two of our granddaughters were visiting last month and I got some oohs and ahs from them before it was even finished. Here is a tutorial.

I loved Amy's Sweet November mermaids long before I joined her design team. These stamps I am using today are from last summer's mermaid group. I bought the digital versions so I could manipulate them and that is exactly what I did here. I flipped Shimmer RedKelp before printing. I included Shimmer's sweet Otter friend, the fish from the Coral Reefweaver set and the dolphin from the Ocean Wavedancer set. I colored them all with Copic Markers, cut them out then adhered to the card here and there as if they were all splashing in the ocean. The patterned paper is the gorgeous Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss 6x6 pad (yes, you are seeing it again! I warned you.).

Products: Sweet November stamps, Bo Bunny dp, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Ki Memories Softies charm, Kaisercraft jewels, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E50, E51, E53, E55; Tail-YG01, YG13, YG17; Top/Scarf-B0000, B000, B01; Fish-YR12, YR14, E97, E99, W00, W1, W5, W7; Dolphin-C00, C1, C3, C5; Otter-W2, W5, W7

I hope you will join in on the challenge. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. Be sure to link up your project with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10PM EST and only one entry per person please.

I hope to see you here again soon.

The Little Engineer

Good morning. I hope this finds you happy, healthy and ready for the week. As for me, I broke one of my toes last week and am hobbling around a bit. Nothing serious, it's just buddy taped.

Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge (MFTWSC27). As per my usual, I did flip the landscape sketch to portrait style. The stamp is MFT's Wyatt The Conductor. All the paper is from a My Mind's Eye Lime Twist 6x6 pad. I actually intended for the embellishments to be reversed here - you know, stars in bottom left corner, pearls upper right. After I sewed the rectangular pieces down I started attaching everything and as I placed the last pearl on it to finish it, I finally noticed that something was wrong. My trains were now upside down! I had flipped the panel and now I had a railroad accident right there on my card. I immediately started trying to pull things off but the stars were going nowhere. Luckily I did manage to take the stamped image off without causing too much damage so now even though my embellishments are in the wrong place at least my trains aren't going wheels up.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, My Mind's Eye dp, Kaisercraft pearls, Making Memories button, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Hair-E33, E55, E29; Overalls/Cap-C00, C1, C3, C5, C7; Shirt/Cap-R24, R27, R29; Bandana/Cap-B95, B97, B99; Shoes/Belt-N1, N5, N7

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Bunny Wish

I managed to get this card for The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday challenge (TCPTUES166) completed despite the fact that there was a lot of noise and interruptions with some construction workers all over the back of our house. They are trying to find a mystery leak. I shudder to think what the final bill is going to be on this endeavor. And of course I am worried about how we are going to pay for it but since I am a Southern Belle I'm going to play Scarlet and think about that tomorrow.

The challenge is an inspiration one. I loved the pink and yellow colors plus the birthday theme is always a good one. I have a granddaughter who will be three years old next month so this is for her. I stamped the A Girl and Her Cake image onto X-Press It cardstock and then cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities with some "out of the circle" work so that her ears fell outside of it. I really used the power of three on this, three circles at the top and at the bottom, then the three candles. The candles are actually paper straws that I found on Etsy. I bought a variety pack so that I would have them in several colors so take that as a warning that you will be seeing them again. I cut them to a shorter length with a Fiskars Fingertip Knife and then used a very old Quickutz candle die for the flames. I also used another flame to dot the "i" in the sentiment. I combined a hodgepodge of paper, Doodlebug, Ki Memories and Cosmo Cricket.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Cosmo Cricket, Doodlebug and Ki Memories dp, PTI cs and buttons, Quickutz die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: E40, E41, E42, RV11, RV32, RV34, Y21, Y23, Y35, YR16, YR18, E35, E37, R29

I hope all is well with you. Have a great weekend.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Good morning. Today's card is for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge and the theme is "anything goes". Now with an open theme like that you just gotta join in!

I am obsessed these days with Amy's mermaid stamps and the one I am using today is a favorite, Pearl Tidepool. I love the sweet expression on her face and that hair - oh that beautiful hair! I don't color hair black often, mainly because I am just not that good at it but I wanted to try again with Pearl. She was first stamped onto Copics X-Press It blending cardstock, colored with Copics and then fussy cut out. She is attached to a background sheet that did not look like it needed anything else as the scene was already set. The paper is from the Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss 6x6 pad and you will definitely be seeing it again soon because it so beautiful! The sentiment came from The Cat's Pajamas Whale of a Time set.

Products: Sweet November stamp, TCP stamp, Bo Bunny dp, May Arts ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E50, E51, E53, R20; Hair-C3, C5, C7, C9; Top/Tail-Y11, Y15, Y17, Y38; Shell Belt-R01, R02, R05

I hope you will join in on the challenge. There is a great prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps shop whether it is any of the wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries. The Best Gift

Now that the long weekend is over, it's time to get back to normal. I'm actually looking forward to some normalcy around here.

Today's card is my first 2011 Christmas card. I got started on last year's cards in July and by the first week or two in December I had all of them completed. It isn't exactly going to be Christmas in July around the blog but you will definitely start seeing them more often.

I combined a favorite stamp company My Favorite Things with some of my favorite Christmas paper from last year, The Girl's Paperie. I've had this Pure Innocence "Don't Open Until" stamp since last fall so it was good to finally get it inked and colored up. I used this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club (MFTWSC26) sketch for the general layout. I converted the sketch to portrait rather than landscape and when I did that I wound up having to shift some elements around a bit.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, The Girl's Paperie dp, PTI button and cs, May Arts ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E30, E31, E35, E25; Dress-B91, B93, B95; Package-R24, R27, R29, G20, YG93, G82; Grass-G40, G82, G85; Shadows-B0000

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with an All That Scraps challenge card.

I Remember Big

Happy Independence Day America! And I missed out on wishing my sweet Canadian readers a Happy Canada Day on Friday so I will now. I hope everyone is having a great long weekend celebrating with family and friends. And for the rest of my international readers, I hope you are off to a great start to the new week.

Today's card is for the July My Favorite Things Guest Design Team contest (MFTGUESTDT0711) with the theme of "a touch of texture." Flopsey Fishing has been colored and kitted up with my paper choice for a while now so the contest is a great excuse to break him out of his plastic bag home. Flopsey was stamped onto X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities letting his ears flop outside the box. I broke out my old Fiskars paper crimper for the background panel which is one of my textural touches. I'm going to add it back to my scrappy tool box since I think it also adds a nice masculine feel too. I stamped the sentiment, cut with  Nestabilities and then attached to the card as if it was a posted sign. The post portion is actually a picket fence die that I just cut one of the posts from. The flourish die-namic was cut onto cork paper which is another bit of texture. It feels like a extremely thin veneer of actual cork on top of paper and it's been in my stash forever. I even decorated the inside which is something I rarely do. I donate most of my cards so the inside is normally blank but this one is for a specific person so I felt free to get creative albeit in a very simple manner. I stamped the fish from the Something's Fishy a la mode set. I stamped once, then twice more without re-inking. I completed the sentiment on yet another sign, hopefully leaving plenty of room for a short note and signature.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, twill and Die-namics, Bella Blvd dp, PTI cs, die and button, Fiskars paper crimper, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E51, E51, E53, E55; Fishing Reel-E42, E44; Fish-YG91, YG93, YG95

Thank you so much for stopping by. God Bless America.

It's the Little Things

TGIF! It's so hard to believe that 2011 is half over already. I'm hoping for a much better second half.

Today's card is the one I shared during The Cat's Pajamas release party at Splitcoast Stampers on Monday night so I thought I would post it here too. I combined the new Lacey Butterfly Cutup with a sentiment from the Bearing Flowers stamp set. I cut the butterfly twice, once in plain white cardstock and then with the patterned paper. I glued the white butterfly flat onto the panel and then placed the yellow one over it adhering only in the center so the wings could lift up. The paper is all from the Lily Bee Picket Fences 6x6 pad. Simple and easy!

Products; The Cat's Pajamas sentiment stamp and CutUps, Magnolia die, Lily Bee dp, May Arts silk ribbon, Kaisercraft jewels, PTI button and cs, Martha Stewart punch

Have a great weekend. Thank you for stopping by.
