Sweet November Preview - Gingy Day 1

***This is my second post for the day. Scroll down for another C.C. Designs preview.***

Welcome to day one of three October previews days featuring Sweet November for C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. Gingy is a set of five gingerbread men (or women). I had some fun with this set and I think you will too.

I started out by cutting a tag shape from kraft cardstock, stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Prismacolor pencils. I cut another larger tag from patterned paper, tying the two together with a bit of cotton twill ribbon. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the rustic white cardstock background which emulated the pattern in the paper used for the border strip. The sentiment came from the also new for this month, C.C. Designs AmyR Joyful Greetings. I added a scattering of Teresa Collins enamel dots, one of which was attached to a kraft circle and popped up with dimensional dots. All the patterned paper came from the Bazzill Basics Nordic Pines pad.

Products: Sweet November stamp, C.C. Designs sentiment stamp, Bazzill Basics dp, Teresa Collins Enamel dots, Cuttlebug embossing folder, May Arts twill, Prismacolor Pencils

C.C. Designs Preview - Rodney

Welcome to the first day of the C.C. Designs Rubber Designs October stamp release!

I am featuring Rodney, the cutest little reindeer ever. I stamped Rodney three times, drew in a pathway with a Copic Multiliner pen and then colored with Copic Markers. I added some white reindeer freckles with a Ranger Inkssentials pen. Naturally the one in front got a red nose! I stamped the sentiment from the new AmyR Joyful Greetings sentiment set onto a piece cut with the Grunge Envelope Cutters adding a post to make it into a sign. A row of buttons were the only embellishments. The patterned paper came from the Glitz Design Hello December 6x6 pad.

Count Your Rainbows

TGIF!

I thought I would end the work week on a bright note. I used a piece from a MFT Blueprints set to cut strips from paint chips representing the ROYGBIV colors of the rainbow. I trimmed them down using both straight and slanted cuts and one with fishtails. I laid them out on the card base using temporary adhesive until I was happy with the arrangement and then adhered with permanent glue. I stamped the two images from the Reverse Confetti Count Your Rainbows set at the top and the bottom of the main panel, coloring up the word portion with Copic markers. Lastly, I added three matted embellishments in random spots for a very a clean and simple style card.

Copics: Y11, Y13, Y15

I hope you have a great weekend. As always, thank you for stopping by.

Holiday Joy

I have a short and sweet post as it continues to be a very busy week around here. Today's card is for week four of the September Viva la Verve sketch challenges. I used this sketch as an opportunity to complete another Christmas card.  I stamped the image from the Verve Winter Mittens set onto the subtle patterned paper and then paper pieced the mittens. I stamped the sentiment from the Verve Holiday Phrases set onto a fishtail tag and then added a matted enamel dot. Some plain white twill completed the look. I stayed fairly true to the sketch using papers from the Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas pad from a couple of years ago.

Products: Verve stamps, Echo park dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, My Mind's eye enamel dot, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Memento ink

That's it from me today. I hope you have a great day.

{The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday} Dropping By to Say Hi

It's the last TCP Tuesday of the month but you have a few more days to get your September challenge card completed. The challenge this month is to use paper piecing on your project.

I bought out one of my favorite stamps, Oh Chute paper piecing the parachute portion. I stamped the entire image onto the background paper, then stamped the parachute portion onto two different patterned papers and the bunny portion onto Copics X-Press It. After paper piecing together the parachute, I then used the stamped image on the background as a guide to place it. After coloring the bunny with Copic Markers, I fussy cut it out and then attached it to the background piece layering it over the border. I broke up the sentiment stamping onto the ribbon streamer image and fussy cut it out also. A button placed on a cloud cut from the Cloud Border CutUps and some Ranger Liquid Pearls on the chute finished things up. All the patterned paper came from the Carta Bella Rough & Tumble pad.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Carta Bella dp, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42,C00, C1, B91, B93; Sentiment streamer-W00, E81

If you want to play along you just upload your design right on the Dancing in Pajamas blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of this blog so you don't have to search around). If you want to display your project on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUESSept13.

Fly High

TGIF!

Today's card is one that I shared at the TCP party over at Splitcoaststampers last month but hadn't yet made an appearance here on the blog. I used one of my favorite stamps from the last release the Fly High bunny. I colored up the bunny portion of the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I stamped the carrot in the bubble onto a piece cut with a small Spellbinders Nestabilities circle. I attached them together via the coiled tube. I combined patterns from Doodlebug, Echo Park and Simple Stories pads for the background and added a single banner shape cut from the Bitty Banners CutUps and a scattering of sequins with rhinestone completed the celestial look.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Doodlebug, Echo Park and Simple Stories dp, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

You're Swell

Today's card features my favorite Reverse Confetti stamp set again, Happy Harbor. I love the small icons for a certain theme because you can make a collage type card or a super simple one, designer's choice. I first cut out the mini instant camera frames using the C.C. Designs Say Cheese Cutters. I then stamped the various nautical icons using Memento Paris Dusk, Kaleidacolor Riviera (the yellow), Jenni Bowlin Weather Vane and Stampin' Up Gumball Green. I cut out the anchor image seperately, fussy cut out and added some bakers's twine. The small fishtail flag came from the Arrows 'n Elements set. As you can see very little patterned paper was used but what is there came from the My Mind's Eye Kate & Co. Cambridge Court 6x6 pad. I cut the heart flourish with  The Cat's Pajamas Heart Swirl from one of the papers which I partially tucked underneath one of the frames. The metal photo anchors and brads came from my old scrapbook stash.

Psalm 147:4

Did you have a nice weekend? We did. Alabama won (Roll Tide) despite a spectacular performance by last year's Heisman Trophy winner and the temperatures were very very pleasant. I can really feel fall in the air. Of course, those hot temps will come back but we are going to enjoy it while it is here.

Today's card is for week 3 of the September Viva la Verve challenges (VLVSep2013).  I converted the sketch from a square to an A2. I started out by stamping the verse from the Verve Shining Star set with SU Midnight Muse ink onto a patterned paper circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities. After cutting the tag with the Verve Tagged Rectangle die, I cut it with the Verve Starry die, placing patterned paper underneath it for a blue on blue look. I used the cut out stars as accents placing a dimensional dot underneath the largest star in the group. The patterned paper came from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 pad.

Products: Verve stamp and dies, Studio Calico dp, sequins, Stampin' Up ink

I hope you have a great week!

Psalm 31:24

Today's card is for week 2 of the September Viva la Verve challenges (VLVSep2013) although I converted the sketch to portrait rather than landscape. I stamped the Verve Psalm 31:24 Plain Jane with SU Midnight Muse ink onto a circle cut with a My Favorite Things Blueprints piece. I added a buttoned flower cut with the C.C. Designs Phlox Flower Cutters and a portion of The Cat's Pajamas Heart Swirl CutUps. All the paper came from the new and gorgeous Basic Grey Persimmon 6x6 pad.

Products: Verve stamp, Basic Grey dp, C.C. Designs Cutters, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Queen & Co Rox, PTI button and cardstock, Stampin' Up cardstock and ink

Silent Night Holy Night

I'm back today with a card for week 1 of the September Viva la Verve challenges (VLVSep2013) although I converted the sketch to an A2 size. I intend on making some headway with my 2013 Christmas cards this month so I decided to use a sentiment from the Verve Peace On Earth set. I combined it with some older Basic Grey papers from the Jovial pad. I highlighted the sentiment with a few Prismacolor pencils and then added some Studio Calico wood veneer stars, a few rhinestones, ribbon twill and a button.

It's review time on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the September release stamps. Today we are concentrating on those stamps with a fall theme.

Using a bit of masking I stamped up images from the Ralphie and Mr. McNutterson set and colored with Copic markers. I added a sentiment from the AmyR Sunny Sentiments set stamped onto pieces cut with the Stackables Cutters. The paper came from an older Basic Grey pad Max & Whispers.

{The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday} One Cupcake

TCP Tuesday for September is in full swing. Remember that even though it is a monthly challenge, you can enter as many times as you want. This month's challenge is to use paper piecing on your project.

I love paper piecing especially when it is mixed in with Copic coloring. It can add such a nice touch to a card. I shared today's project at the new release Pajama party over on Splitcoaststampers so I thought it was about time to make an appearance here at Creative Palette.

Using the new One Cupcake stamp set, I paper pieced the cupcake holder portion and then colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. Afterwards I fussy cut it out and attached to the card with a bit of glue and pop dots behind those big floppy ears. I created the border by using one of the dies from the Toppers CutUps cutting twice from two colors of cardstock and then stamping the sentiment onto it. LOVE the new Bitty Banners CutUps so I couldn't resist using them to add to the festive birthday look. Lastly, I added a bit of bling on the banner and border. The patterned papers came from my old My Mind's Eye Lime Twist pads and also from the Doodlebug Boys Only pad.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Mind's Eye and Doodlebug dp, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-W00, E81, E50, E51 E53; Cupcake-W00, E81, YR12, YR18

Thankful for You

Good morning. I don't know about you but the weekend just flew by for me. And here we are with another manic Monday.

I recently have become reacquainted with Stampin' Up products after a very long hiatus with a purchase of some new inks and matching cardstock some of which figure prominently on today's project. I used the September Sketch for You to Try (#4) for the layout although I took a few liberties with it. Lots of tags and tag based cards from me lately. I already had all my Reverse Confetti guest designer projects completed before this sketch was published so it's purely coincidental that I'm featuring yet another tag on today's card.

I started out by stamping the  Reverse Confetti Whole Lotta Dots set onto the tag shape using SU Midnight Muse ink and matching cardstock for a tone on tone look. I then added the bit of burlap ribbon secured with a button at the top. I stamped the sentiment from the new Forever Fall set with SU Gumball Green onto a die cut piece. I love that even though it's a fall set there are sentiments that work for anytime of the year. After stamping the chevrons from the Arrows 'n Elements set, I fussy cut them out and attached to a strip of SU Baked Brown Sugar cardstock. A wood veneer star and a couple of sequins provided the only finishing touches as I wanted to retain the masculine feel of the card. The patterned paper came from the new Glitz Design Dapper Dan 6x6 pad. I have to admit that I went all in on the new Glitz pads! Frankly, I've pretty much spent my crafty budget for the remainder of the year between the SU and new paper pads. .

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps, Glitz Design dp, Studio Calico Sequins and Wood Veneer Stars, PTI buttons, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Stampin' Up cardstock and inks

I'm off to start the laundry. Laundry and Mondays kinda go together, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by.

Reverse Confetti New Release Blog Hop

It's release day at Reverse Confetti!  The five new stamp sets are available to purchase now in the Reverse Confetti shop.
Since it is release day and the 8th of the month that also means a blog hop to showcase these fabulous sets for you one more time! I'm helping out the fabulous Confetti Crew along with several other 'Fetti friends.

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog and you should have made it here from Lisa's blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing. There are so many creative projects to inspire you.

I decided to use the Count Your Rainbows set again since I had so many ideas for it the first time around. I started with my new Teresa Collins paper pad, Memorabilia; I think I was drawn to it because the colors actually match the colors in my home. I started out by cutting the instant camera frame cutting an extra insert  from Stone Grey cardstock to use for the sentiment. I stamped two of the sentiments in Memento London Fog and Fresh Ink Pool. I attached a Jenni Bowlin chipboard clock and a scattering of Teresa Collins Memorabilia enamel dots for a clean and simple design.

Since I had to make several cuts to get the look I wanted on the first instant frame, I wound up with some left over pieces. I didn't want them to go to waste so I decided to make another card. I stamped a sentiment onto the frame insert and then layered an oval piece stamped with another one of the sentiments onto the frame. I anchored the sentiment panel with a heart stamped in Memento London Fog that came from the Forever Fall set and fussy cut out. I added another button and wrapped some ribbon around the frame as the finishing touch.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps, Teresa Collins dp and enamel dots, Jenni Bowlin chipboard clock,American Crafts ribbon, MFT buttons, Lil Inker Designs die, Memento ink

Countdown to Confetti - Spooky Sentiments and Spooky Cuties

Welcome to the last day of sneak peeks for the latest collection from Reverse Confetti which also means it's almost release time! All five of the new stamp sets will be available to purchase tonight at midnight CDT!

I love Halloween and was thrilled to see today's set of Spooky Sentiments and Spooky Cuties. I had been patting myself on the back for not buying any new Halloween themed paper this year since I have plenty. That resolve when out the window when I spied the Glitz Design Raven pad. I also thought it had potential for some everyday use too so I used that excuse to go ahead and purchase. I'm glad I did because I think the patterns were perfect for this set of tags. I used a variety of tag dies from The Cat's Pajamas, My Favorite Things and Verve to cut the tag bases. I combined a sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set with one one of the Halloween icons from the Spooky Cuties set for each one. Then added bits of ribbon, buttons and bling as embellishments. Do you see the striped fishtail tags on two of the tags? That is a stamp from the Arrows' n Elements set.

I created these to be attached to some Halloween treat bags for a select few recipients. Here is one attached to a bag of Halloween goodies. BTW, I had to return to the store to buy this candy for the second time. I had sat it aside on the kitchen counter until I got my tags finished up.That was the wrong thing to do! I came in one day to find that Don had eaten a good portion of it. Note to self: Hide candy next time. Anyone besides my husband want a Gummy pumpkin?

I bet you spy another new stamp set! I used the Lighthearted Letters alphabet set to stamp the recipient's name onto plain tags punched out with an old EK Success punch.

How about some ghost Peeps?

Here are three of the candy bags together:

And another group shot:

Now all of my projects are for girls but you could easily make the bags more masculine by substituting the curling ribbon with raffia, hemp twine or burlap ribbon.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps, Glitz Design dp, The Cat's Pajamas, Verve and My Favorite Things tag dies, Quickutz die, Kaisercraft pearls and jewels, Studio Calico wood veneer stars, Memento ink, EK Success punch, Copic Markers
Copics: C00, C1, C3, W00, E81, YR23, YR27

I want to remind you again to leave a comment on each sneak peek for each designer for the September 5-7 previews for a chance to win a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate. Comments will close at noon today and the winner will be announced at 5pm. Be sure to go to the Reverse Confetti blog to find out who all is participating today.

Here is a look at the sets I used today:
