Today's two faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food, clothing and school supply boxes, etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.
For both cards I used the PTI Year of Psalms March and PTI What the Doodle Feather and die which are both retired.
First up, I did some ink smooshing using salvaged patina distress ink onto a stitched edge cardstock panel. Two of the feathers were stamped onto watercolor paper using Versamark ink then white heat embossed and cut out with the matching die. I blended PTI dark indigo, tropical teal, green leaf inks. The smallest feather was stamped with tropical teal ink. I stamped the sentiment using tropical teal ink directly onto the panel, then clustered the three feathers around it attaching with a combo of glue and foam dimensionals.
Products: PTI stamps, dies and cs, MFT die, Ranger Distress ink and PTI ink
I tried for a more masculine on the second card. The diagonal stitched panel background was created by blending distress tumbled glass ink over Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Moving Air Stencil. I stamped two of the feathers using permanent black ink, cut with the matching dies then blended lake house, sage and dijon ink and sprinkled water downed white acrylic ink with a fan brush. The two smaller feathers were all stamped with dijon ink. After attaching all the feathers around the sentiment which was stamped with permanent black ink, I added a trio of sequins.
Products: PTI stamps and dies and cs, Lil Inkers Designs die, Picket Fence Studios stencil, Doodlebug sequins, Altenew, The Stamp Market and Ranger Distress ink
These two cards represent cards #23 and #24 for my bundle of 25 (because I found 12 cards in my stash that fit the scripture requirement).
I am submitting to the Word Art Wednesday challenge of Anything Goes - Weeks #657-658. And also Tic Tac Toe Challenge (#252) using diecuts/free/any sentiment.
Oh my heart, Nancy....I'm LOVING this. What a wonderful card with a wonderful passage. This has been a favorite of mine since I was very young. I remember being quite intrigued by the thought of God having wings, feathers, pinions. Now that I understand it, it gives me such a feeling of safety and peace. LOVE it. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday and please stop by again soon. I'm LOVING your art.

Thank you for your kind words.
DeleteWhat a wonderful pair of cards Nancy! Your gorgeously inked feathers are the perfect way to illustrate this beautiful verse from Psalm 91. How I wish Papertrey Ink was available in the UK as they design great scripture stamps! Vicky x
