Vintage Bunny

First of all, the Sweet November previews have been postponed until next week. I promise you they will be worth the wait!

Since The Cat's Pajamas Wheel Love bunny is riding an old style bike, I decided to do a vintage/steampunk style on today's card. After stamping the image, I cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities allowing one of his big ears to fall outside of the box. The patterned paper is a combination of My Mind's Eye from two different pads and Authentique.

A Beary Halloween {TCP Tuesday 178 - Color Challenge}

Good morning. The TCP Tuesday Challenge (TCPTUES178) is hosted by Jenny and she challenged us to use the colors Plum Purple, Pear Green and Smokey Grey in our projects.

These colors were perfect for me to get one more Halloween card completed for this year (not that they are just for Halloween).  I used A Beary Good Year stamp set for my images. After coloring the bear with Copic markers and adding some paper piecing, I then created a 3d broom with various colors of baker's twine. I also followed the September Sketch for You to Try for the basic layout.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, Echo Park, Ki Memories and Websters pages dp, Basic Grey pearls, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, W1, W2, W5, V0000, V12, V15

All the details for this TCP Tuesday 178 challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. As always, there is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week). Good luck!

All That Scraps Wednesday Theme - It Takes Two

I created today's card for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge theme of the week "it takes two", meaning to use two or more characters.

I decided to pair up Sweet November Penelope and her snail friend Fibonacci for my card. I stamped and colored both with Copic markers, paper piecing a portion of Fibonacci. Since it's getting a bit cooler now, I decided to draw in some long sleeves on Penelope. I used the fabulous My Mind's Eye Breeze 6x6 pad for the patterned papers.

Sweet November Review Previews

Hi everyone. The Sweet November Review Preview is going on over at the All That Scraps blog today and I'm joining in.

It was so difficult to narrow down which September stamp I wanted to use as they were all so darn cute. I finally decided on Hilda and Luna. I stamped the image onto Copics X-Press It blending card wiping away the owl portion of the image (sorry Luna!). The image was cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities allowing the witch hat to fall outside of the box. I really wanted to make this card different from my first effort so decided to paper piece a good portion of Hilda's outfit and also brightened up the colors since I used a more muted palette in the original previews. The reason I omitted Luna when I stamped the image was so I could perch a cute Doodlebug Night Owl Braddie on top of Hilda's broom instead. The sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas Fright Night set and was stamped onto a diecut using the My Favorite Things File tab Die-namics.

Beautiful Day

Hello again. I hope your Monday is going great. I have a quick and easy card for you today, especially since I followed this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC38). I made a small change from the sketch by replacing the small front panel with a fence instead. I also made some minor changes to the MFT P.I. Sunflower Girl image by adding some long sleeves and socks with a Copic Multiliner pen after stamping. The sentiment is from the same set although it's been parsed. The pattern paper is the Alla 6x6 pad by Prima.

All That Scraps Wednesday Theme - Banner

Good morning. The All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge theme of the week is "banners".

The Sweet November image is from the Twisted Sisters collection from last fall. Since this is the digital version I printed Jessamine onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic markers and then cut out. Banners come in all shapes and sizes so I decided to make my banner from some Making Memories tags and then attached them to my card with mini brads
.

You're the Bestest {TCP Tuesday 177}

Good morning. It's another TCP Tuesday and Julie has challenged us to create our own roses with seam binding. I dare you to laugh at mine! The first one I did looked great (you will just have to take my word for it) but then I decided my card needed different a punch of color so I switched to orange. Well for some reason, this one didn't turn out so great. I even made a second one that  - well, frankly - looked just like this one! So you might want to follow Alma's video how to rather than look at my effort!

I stamped the bunny from the Kick Some Grass set and then cut it out allowing one of the flowers and the bunny ears to fall outside of the box. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the stamped panel, curving it around the bunny ear. I added a couple of beads to one of my stickpins adhering with Crystal Lacquer so they would not wiggle around and then stuck them through my funny looking flower to finish things up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, Fancy Pants dp, Seam Binding (mango), Kaisercraft pearl, May Arts stickpins, Stampin' Up ticket punch, Copic Markers

Copics: Bunny-E50, E51, E53, C1, C3, C5, C7; Grass-G40, G82, G85; Flowers-Y21, Y23, Y35, YR12, YR14, YR16, RV00, RV32, RV34

All the details for this TCP Tuesday 177 challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. As always, there is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week). Good luck to you - I can't wait to see your projects!!

ATCs - Make Believe/Fantasy

I recently joined an ATC (Artist Trading Card) group who trade on a monthly basis. The August theme was Make Believe/Fantasy. I chose to use Josie from the Sweet November Fairwee collection. I had already created a set using the whole Fairwee collection so I decided to replicate one from that group rather than reinventing the wheel. I used different colors/patterned paper but the design was basically the same.

You're Tweet {TCP Tuesday 176} **plus a chance to win a TCP CutUps Set**

I was happy to see Jen's inspiration challenge this week was a fall themed one. After our long hot summer, I am ready for some cooler weather.

I challenged myself to not use any coloring on this one for a change of pace. I didn't realize it until the card was complete, but there was also very little actual stamping. Instead, I made liberal use of various dies starting out by cutting out the birdhouse from the Home Tweet Home CutUps set. I attached with some dimensional dots and let some fringed paper hang outside the birdhouse to represent a nest. The border stamps include the Cloud Border, Grass and Inside Pinking. I cut the "grass" using two shades of felt from the Green with Envy set. I definitely need to get more colors of the felt - it's so soft and pliable. The bird perched atop the birdhouse and sentiment stamped on the cloud are from the Nesting stamp set. I wrapped some Aqua Divine Twine around the main panel and tied off with a button.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Felt, Divine Twine, Bella Blvd dp, PTI button
All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found on Alma’s blog.

Now for some really fun news. It's been one year since the TCP CutUps debut. In celebration of that event, Alma has graciously allowed each member of The Cat Pack to give away one of the CutUps dies used on each of our TCP Tuesday 176 projects. All you have to do is leave a comment. It just does not get any easier than that! Now keep in mind that not everyone posts their challenge card on the same day so you'll need to check each individual designer; normally we post Tuesday-Monday. Up for grabs on my blog is the Home Tweet Home set which includes the birdhouse I used on today's project plus a bird and musical note die. I'll select a winner by random draw on Monday. Go to Alma's blog to see details and to get the complete list of designers.

Good luck!

All That Scraps Wednesday Theme - Fall

Good morning. The All That Scraps Wednesday challenge has been changed up a bit. The first post of the month is now the actual challenge which continues all month long so you have plenty of time to get your project completed. The rest of the month features a theme of the week just for your viewing pleasure or to help jump start an idea for your challenge project. This week's theme is "fall."  I don't know about you but autumn is one of my favorite seasons. I love the colors and the crispness in the air. It is the last blaze of glory before the doldrums of winter.

I printed the Sweet November Spindle Mossyrock digital image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut out. I combined it with some older Ki Memories patterned paper and chipboard.

Products: Sweet November (digital) stamp, Ki Memories dp and chipboard, PTI buttons, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E33, E53, E55, E57; Clothes/Wings-BG70, BG72, BG75, YG91, YG93, YG95, W00, W1, W2, W5

Even though it is still very warm around here I definitely feel a hint of fall in the air. How about you?

I Simply Adore You

We don't tell our loved ones often enough how we feel about them. This is one of those cards that spells it out so there can be no doubt. I followed the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge for the layout (MFTWSC36). I stamped one of my favorite Pure Innocence stamps "Being Cute is What I Do" and gussied her up with a bit of paper piecing along with some coloring with Copic markers. I used my brand spankin' new Die-namics "Prima Donna Petals" to make the flower.  The paper is all the super pretty My Mind's Eye Everyday Flair 6x6 pad.

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E50, E51 E53, E55; Shoes-R11, R14, R17

TCP Tuesday175 (and some news)

If you've ever visited this blog before today, it's probably been obvious to you that The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies are a big favorite of mine. I've been participating in the challenges for a while now and have always admired the fabulous design team. Well to make a long story short here, Alma has asked me to join The Cat Pack!! I couldn't possibly be more excited. You can see the official announcement here.

As my first official TCP duty, I have card for you today using a sketch by Leigh and boy,  is it ever an interesting one (TCPTUES175). I started out by stamping the bunny from the Take Off set and then cutting out with Spellbinders Nestabilities with some out-of-the circle action for those big ol' ears. I colored up the bunny with Copics and paper pieced the airplane portion. I substituted the pennants with some Jenni Bowlin star and letter stickers pierced with a couple of Making Memories star stickpins. I covered up where I stuck the pins with a couple of JB letter stickers. I took some liberty with the main sentiment by stamping it directly onto the circle panel rather than as shown on the sketch. I used the Cloud Border CutUps die (which unfortunately is out of stock at the moment - it will be back soon though) to cut a strip of clouds which I then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. For a finishing touch I wrapped the Airmail Divine Twine around the border tying through a button from my stash.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park dp, Divine Twine, Jenni Bowlin stickers, Making Memories stickpins, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers

Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42; Helmet-B93, B95, B99; Aviator glasses-R27, R29, C3, C5, C7; Smoke-C00, C3

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. There is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week). Good luck!!
