C.C. Designs March Preview - Spring Has Sprung

****This is my second post for the day. Please scroll to the next post for a Sweet November preview****

Today the All That Scraps design team members are previewing a really fun new set, Spring Has Sprung. This stamp set is adorable, consisting of eggs nestled in flowers and grass along with two extremely cute animals, a bunny and a plump little lamb. I originally planned on an Easter project but when I received the new My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally 6x6 pad, I decided to go in a whole new direction. I stamped the eggs/flowers image, colored with Copic markers and then cut it into two pieces, spreading it out over the A2 size of the card which left a big enough gap for the tag. I created the tag with the sentiment from the Spring Logos set (also new for March) as the centerpiece. The two small eggs on the tag were cut using The Cat's Pajamas Eggs in a Basket CutUps. I superimposed the tag over the stamped images using dimensional dots. I hope I achieved the direct from the farm look I was going for!

Leigh is the lucky hostess for challenge # 200 and it is one of her fabulous sketches. I had so many ideas for this that I think I will be using this one again for sure. It doesn't really appear that I did much stamping but in actuality I used five different stamps from the Nesting set. I first stamped the nest onto patterned paper and then cut out. I stamped the solid bird and eggs in two different colors and then stamped the outline of each in black. I cut out both and attached to the nest image. I then die cut six birdhouses/roofs to represent the squares in the sketch using the Home Tweet Home CutUps set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI twill, Maya Road stickpins

C.C. Designs March Preview - Swiss Pixies

Today the All That Scraps design team members are previewing the newest Swiss Pixies from C.C. Designs.

My card features Butterfly Lula. After coloring her with Copics, I cut her out and placed her onto a circle cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities to ground the image against the stronger patterned papers.  The paper is all from the My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair 6x6 pad from last year. I emulated the pattern on the background paper by cutting leaves and stems with the Mistletoe Cutters. The sentiment is from the Spring Logos set which is also new for this release.

And speaking of My Mind's Eye, All the newest pads are in the ATS store now. And they are all gorgeous!

A Friendly Light

Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC61). I used the My Favorite Things Inspired by Lighthouses stamp set. I masked the image and then used the Cloud Border CutUps from The Cat's Pajamas as a pattern, inking around the edges in order to give the illusion of clouds in the sky. The sentiment is from the same set; however, I broke it up so it would fit on two banners. The paper is all from the My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side One pad. I kept the patterns and embellishments simple for a more masculine feel.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Linen Thread, PTI button, Copic Markers
Copics: Lighthouse/House-W00, E81, R22, R27, R29; Grass-G40, G43, G46; Cliffs-W00, W1, W2, W5; Ocean-B0000, B000, BG11, BG70, BG72

And a Sunday driveby:
  • this has not been a great week
  • Don had a friend pass away
  • one of our vehicles needed $700 in repairs
  • same vehicle needs even more work to the tune of about $900
  • Don had an MRI on his shoulder that revealed a rotator cuff tear
  • watched a Hoarders episode which prompted me to clean my fridge
  • it positively sparkles now
  • hoping for better days ahead

Rosie Rabbit

Today's card is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC153). I stamped the Stampavie Rosie Rabbit image onto Copics X-Press It and then cut out and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities, allowing the rose part of the image to fall outside of the box. Everything was colored with Copics and I combined this little cutie with paper from the October Afternoon Sidewalks 8x8 pad. I feel like I've used this paper a lot yet it doesn't look like I've made much of a dent. I used a couple of My Favorite Things Die-namics to cut the rolled up rose and greenery. The border was cut using the C.C. Designs Fairwee Tiny Scallop Cutter and I just layered a strip of the ribbon over it and made a faux bow with the remainder so I could layer the flower on top of it without adding more bulk.

Products: Stampavie stamp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, October Afternoon dp, Kaisercraft rhinestones, May Arts ribbons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers
Copics: Bunny-W00, E81, BG0000, BG10; Flower-RV00, R85, R83, R32, R35, YG0000, YG23, YG25

Have a great weekend. As always, thank you so much for stopping by.

Just Saying Hello {TCP Tuesday 199}

Today's project is for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge (TCPTUES199). Susan is our hostess this week and her stamp/CutUps challenge is "the great outdoors". That is, to use a stamp which represents doing something outside plus the Clouds CutUps border.

As my time is a little crazy right now, it was great to already have this image from the Wheel Love stamp set already colored and paper pieced. I combined this little guy with a kraft envie by Maya Road and paper from one of the My Mind's Eye Six by Six pads from last year, Away We Go. The sentiment is from the Warm Fuzzies set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Linen thread, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI buttons, Maya Road envie, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers
Copics: E50, E51, E53, BG70, BG72, BG75, C3, C5, C7, E07, E09, W00, E81, Y21, Y23, Y35, W2, W5, W7

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. As always, there is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week) and possibly even Swanky Stamper of the Month.
