Sparkle Thistleweed

I realize the blog has been a bit quiet this week. It's been busy around here. Don is still going to physical therapy three times a week but he can drive now so that has helped. We've had a visitor plus we had several people over for dinner one night. I finished up some design team work and also got 62 cards that I've accumulated off to Operation Write Home. Naturally I didn't allot myself enough time for triage, stamping the back with the OWH logo and envelope stuffing but I did manage to make the Mother's Day deadline.

Today's card features an older Sweet November image, Sparkle Thistleweed. There are only a few left in stock at All That Scraps but there is always the digital version. The fairies were the stamps that drew me to Sweet November in the first place so it's hard to believe that this beauty has been in my "not inked up stack" for a while now. I stamped her onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored up with Copics and then fussy cut her out. I used a couple of My Favorite Things Die-namics to cut the large doily and the rolled roses. The leaves were cut with the C.C. Designs Mistletoe Cutter.

I will have C.C. Designs for All That Scraps previews for you beginning Tuesday of next week. I hope you have a great weekend.

Wishing You Sunshine (TCP Tuesday 203)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES203) which is a color challenge of Tangerine, Lime Green and Sky Blue selected by our hostess, Lori.

I loved the colors and found the patterned paper I wanted to use from four different paper pads. I combined them with another favorite TCP stamp, Wet Puddle. I colored up this cutie with Copic markers and cut the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I surrounded her with some clouds cut with the TCP Cloud Border CutUp. The sentiment is from the same set and was cut using the banner shape die in the Easy Rosette CutUps. The small circles and star were cut using the icons from the Pinwheel CutUps.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Divine Twine, My Mind's Eye, Echo Park and Authentique dp, Bazzill Basics embossing folder, TPC Studio rhinestones, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Birthday Cake

I was determined to get March's Sketch for You to Try done early; not waiting until the last day like I did last month. I also used another stamp from my not-yet-inked-up stash, My Favorite Things Lovin' from the Oven, using a combo of Copic coloring and paper piecing. The diecuts are all from the MFT Bon Appetit Die-namics and the paper is all My Mind's Eye.

Sweet November March Review

The Sweet November review of the March release is going on over at the All That Scraps blog today and today's card is my contribution.

I inked up Penelope again, sans Zip this time though. The card design is more CAS than I normally do but the nice clean designs in the paper really seem to make the image pop off the page so I just didn't think it needed anything else. The patterned paper is all from a Studio Calico pad purchased last year but never cut into. So yes I am still in use it or lose it mode here. I used the fun new C.C. Designs Butterfly Border Cutter cut in to two pieces for some tandem fluttering. I even broke out my corner rounder. A plain white twill bow finished things up.

Products: Sweet November stamp, C.C. Designs Cutter, Studio Calico dp, May Arts twill, PTI die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E01, E11, R20; Hair-E31, E34, E37, E29; Eyes-B41, B32, B34; Clothing-BG70, BG10, BG13, BG15, W00, E81

You're Some Bunny Special (TCP Tuesday 202}

Good morning. Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES202) which is a fun supply challenge from our hostess, Julie to use any TCP product to put "grass with class" on a project.

I used one of my favorite The Cat's Pajamas stamps Blow, combining it with one of my new 6x6 pads Simple Stories Fabulous. After coloring up the image with Copics and cutting it out, I added just a bit of Liquid Applique for a fluffy bunny tail. I used one of the journaling pieces as the main panel, attaching the image to it as well as directly stamping the sentiment and the flower portion of the image on it. I cut the felt grass with the Grass border CutUps and added a felt flower cut with the TCP Flower Buttons. Simple, easy and full of spring goodness!

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Linen Thread, Simple Stores dp, Liquid Applique, PTI buttons and felt, Copic Markers
Copics: E50, E51, E53, BG0000, BG10, BG13, R32, R35, R46

You Bring Me Joy

Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC63). I converted the sketch to a rectangular shape rather than a square. I also stamped the sentiment directly onto the patterned paper rather than a separate sentiment panel. I colored up the My Favorite Things PLL Where Flowers Bloom with Copics and then cut out. I placed him underneath a tree cut with the My Favorite Things Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio. There is just a bit of grass underneath the tree which I cut with The Cat's Pajamas Grass Border CutUps. All the paper is from the Simple Stories Baby Steps 6x6 pad.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Simple Stories dp, PTI felt, Copic Markers

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Happy Birthday {TCP Tuesday 201}

Good morning. Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES201) which is a fun inspiration challenge from our hostess, Jen.

I was inspired  by the chevrons as well as the fresh and clean colors. I used  the turtle images from the And Baby Makes... stamp set. I love that this set can be used for a new baby as well as a child's card. I stamped the turtles image and then stamped another of the small turtles. I colored all three with Copics and then cut them out attaching them to the card panel with dimensional dots. I stamped the sentiment which came from the Birthday Bunny stamp set onto a banner strip which I die cut using the Easy Rosette CutUps. The paper is all from the My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side One pad.

Ima Butterfly (All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge}

Today's card is for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge. The theme is "anything goes".

I inked up the one of the new March C.C. Designs release, Ima Butterfly. I used a combo of paper piecing and Copic coloring to get her colored up. I used a slanted and staggered solid colored matting to balance out the busy patterned paper background. Rolled flowers, punched butterflies and a bit of stitching provided the finishing touches.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, October Afternoon dp, Martha Stewart punch, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E51, E53, E55, E57; Shoes-BG0000, BG10, BG11; Wings-Y21, Y23, Y35, R30, R32, R35, RV14

I hope you can join in on the challenge. C.C. Designs March Review

A review of the March C.C. Designs release is going on over at the All That Scraps blog today and I am joining in on the fun with the rest of the design team.

I combined Swiss Pixie Bunny Lucy with the Spring Has Sprung set for an Easter card. After stamping Lucy, I cut her out and then placed her with dimensional dots in the gap of the background image so it looks like she is sitting amongst the flowers and Easter eggs. The paper is all from the October Afternoon Farmhouse pad. The sentiment is from the Spring Logos set also released in March.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, October Afternoon dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, PTI button, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Spellbinder Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Easter Bunny

Today's card is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge (MFTWSC62). No pink allowed on this Easter card as it is for a little boy. After coloring the MFT Pure Innocence Warm Fuzzies, I cut the image out and replaced the heart shaped hair clip with a bunny tail pom pom. I used the Die-namics Notched Tag set to create the tag which I attached with brown baker's twine. The grass and eggs were cut with The Cat's Pajamas Grass and Eggs in a Basket CutUps. The paper is primarily some older Jillibean Soup.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Jillibean Soup dp, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E000, E01; Hair-E55, E57, E29; Bunny Suit-B0000, B000, BG70, W00, E81

It was good to get to my craft table. All my blog postings last week and most of this week were set up in advance due to my husband's shoulder surgery. So it felt like a long time in between projects. It's been a busy week but I think we've both found our groove on how to handle things until we can do more for himself.

Sweet November Preview Day 2 - Penelope and Zip

Welcome to the final day of February Sweet November previews. Today we are featuring Penelope.  You might remember past versions of the always sweet Penelope; this time she is paired up with her friend Zip.

I stamped and colored up both images with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out. I created a scene background within a circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilties and attached Penelope to it. Zip is flying free with dimensional dots underneath the wings. I used another one of my new My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads, On the Bright Side One.

C.C. Designs March Preview - Spring Has Sprung

 ****This is my second post for the day. Please scroll to the next post for a Sweet November preview****

Today the All That Scraps design team members are previewing a really fun new set, Spring Has Sprung. This stamp set is adorable, consisting of eggs nestled in flowers and grass along with two extremely cute animals, a bunny and a plump little lamb. I originally planned on an Easter project but when I received the new My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally 6x6 pad, I decided to go in a whole new direction. I stamped the eggs/flowers image, colored with Copic markers and then cut it into two pieces, spreading it out over the A2 size of the card which left a big enough gap for the tag. I created the tag with the sentiment from the Spring Logos set (also new for March) as the centerpiece. The two small eggs on the tag were cut using The Cat's Pajamas Eggs in a Basket CutUps. I superimposed the tag over the stamped images using dimensional dots. I hope I achieved the direct from the farm look I was going for!

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, My Mind's Eye dp, The Cat's Pajamas egg die, PTI tag die, American Crafts and May Arts ribbon, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Copic markers
Copics: W00, E81, Y0000, Y13, Y17, R22, R27, R29, BG70, BG72, BG75

This collection will be available for purchase at the All That Scraps store Thursday, March 8 at 10 pm CT. Be sure to check out the All That Scraps blog for even more previews.

Leigh is the lucky hostess for challenge # 200 and it is one of her fabulous sketches. I had so many ideas for this that I think I will be using this one again for sure. It doesn't really appear that I did much stamping but in actuality I used five different stamps from the Nesting set. I first stamped the nest onto patterned paper and then cut out. I stamped the solid bird and eggs in two different colors and then stamped the outline of each in black. I cut out both and attached to the nest image. I then die cut six birdhouses/roofs to represent the squares in the sketch using the Home Tweet Home CutUps set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI twill, Maya Road stickpins

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. Don't forget to comment on the various Cat Pack blogs for your chance to win our next release. Alma will be sharing links on her blog as each member posts their TCP Tuesday project.
