TCP Tuesday and SCS LOVE FEST

Good morning to all. My projects today are pulling double duty for the February TCP Tuesday and also the TCP Love Fest going on over at Splitcoaststampers.

First up is the TCP Tuesday part of it which is my second one for the month. The Cat’s Pajamas switched up the challenge format  by making it a monthly challenge as opposed to the former weekly one. The challenge carries through the entire month and you can find complete details on this post on the TCP blog as well as the InLinkz button to link up your projects.

This month’s challenge is a supply challenge. We are challenging you to bring out your existing The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies and use them in a new and creative way. For example, if you primarily use your stamps for cards, how about changing it up a bit to use them on a home decor piece or a scrapbook page? Or, if you have a TCP stamp set or die that has not been used before pull it out and use it! Or use a stamp set in a way in which it was not originally intended. Just do something different!

I created an easy gift bag for this challenge using one of the toppers from the TCP Toppers CutUps to cut a decorative edge on a plain glassine bag. I then added another decorative element by using the Pom Pom Flower CutUps to cut a ribbon slide. After inserting the ribbon ending in a fluffy bow I attached it to the bag with double sided tape.

As a member company, The Cat's Pajamas is participating in the Love Fest going on at Splitcoaststampers. Today is TCP's turn to host a challenge which is an inspiration one featuring the photo over to the left. Go here to see the specific challenges for each day. There will also be some fun additional things going on in the TCP Forum. There are prizes to be had so please go check it out!

As for my project, as you can see I was inspired by the colors. I used a Lifestyle Crafts Nesting dies set to create my card base and then created a simple scene for the card front using the Wet Puddle set. The puddle was stamped directly onto the patterned paper background. I used a combo of Copic coloring and paper piecing and after cutting out the image I placed her over the "puddle" using some dimensional dots underneath the forward foot and the head. The strip of gray clouds at the top were cut with the Cloud Border CutUps. The patterned papers are a combination of  Bella Blvd, Echo Park and Simple Stories Sn@p.
