C.C. Designs Preview - Dress Up Snowman

Welcome to the All That Scraps November stamps and dies previews featuring the C.C. Designs line.

It's no secret that I love snowmen so I am in love with the new C.C. Designs Dress Up Snowman set. The set features a snowman and various pieces to "dress" him or her up. And what is even cooler, there is a matching Snowman Cutters. I liked all the accessories so I decided to dress up three of them using a combination of coloring with Copics and paper piecing. Since I had so many images, I needed a larger canvas in which to showcase them. I decided on a "rack" style card which fits inside a business type envelope. The sentiment came from the also new for this month Winter Chuckles sentiment set. As a last step I added some Diamond Ranger Stickles to each snowman for a bit of sparkle, a Doodlebug metal snowflake brad and a few pearls. The paper is all from the Doodlebug North Pole pad.

Today's card features Twila and although I have plenty of Christmas paper I managed to use not one piece of it on this card! The main image panel consists of some October Afternoon paper with some snowy hills and a white fence cut with the also new Four Seasons Fence Cutters. The My Mind's Eye glittery chipboard trees have been in my stash for a while now. After coloring and fussy cutting out the image, Twila was placed in the snowy scene as if she caught one those stars from the night sky.

Sweet November Preview - Rudy

Welcome to day two of Sweet November previews for All That Scraps. There are six in total of these sweet Christmas pixies so be sure to stop by every day to check them out.

Today's card features Rudy and I combined him with paper from the Basic Grey Jovial pad. The actual design of the card happened almost by accident. After cutting the large snowflake using the also new for this release C.C. Designs Snowflake Cutters from the white paper. I just happened to lay the paper aside onto a piece of red cardstock and thought how pretty the negative looked too. So the design was born from that. I inked lightly around the snowflake negative edges and dry embossed the whole piece with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then added a piece of the red patterned paper behind the snowflake negative and superimposed the cut snowflake on top of it, only gluing down the center of it so the rest would naturally pop up. Some of you might remember this project from last month's preview which featured a small burlap tree. Well, I actually intended to use two of them on that card but then changed my mind so I used the left over here. I "decorated" it with some twine and black buttons to match the homespun look of the plaid paper.

Products: Sweet November stamp, C.C. Designs Cutters, Basic Grey dp, My Mind's Eye Burlap, PTI die and  buttons, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers

Just Bee Cause

***This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for the Sweet November preview.***

Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to a nice weekend. We worked around the house again this week and are ready for a fun break with family and some Alabama football.

Today's card features the There She Goes Bee Happy stamp set. I first cut out a circle using Spellbinders Nestabilities from Copics X-Press It cardstock and then stamped the sentiment and the bees. I used this week's There She Goes sketch (TSG178) for the general layout. Most of the patterned paper is from the Glitz Designs Cashmere Dame pad although I added one strip of Lily Bee (the green). This also meets the requirements for the Hope is in the Air challenge (HYCCT1220) in the Hope You Can Cling To forum at Splitcoast Stampers benefiting UT MD Anderson Hospital.

Products: There She Goes stamp, Glitz Designs and Lily Bee dp, May Arts ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls and rhinestones, PTI buttons, Lil Inker Designs die, Craft Concepts embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Pedal to the Metal (TCP Tuesday 233)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES233) which is a color challenge of Pumpkin, Lime and Charcoal selected by our hostess, Lori.

One would normally associate these colors with Halloween but I wanted to do something a bit different with them. I stamped Joyride onto Copic X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and then fussy cut out. I created a "highway" by stamping the center line stamp in the set in white and then heat setting with white detail embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Wheel Love set. I generally followed the October Sketch for You to Try for the layout. This also meets the requirements for the Pinking Shears challenge (HYCCT1217) in the Hope You Can Cling To forum at Splitcoast Stampers benefiting UT MD Anderson Hospital.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, Pink Paislee and My Mind's Eye dp, PTI and Fancy Pants buttons, WPlus 9 die, Copic Markers

Sweet November Review - Noelle

Today is review day over at the All That Scraps Blog and I am joining other design team members in showcasing more of the October release stamps and dies. Today we are concentrating on the Sweet November line which features the beautiful Christmas angels you saw at the beginning of the month.

It was hard to narrow down my choice to one but I finally decided to stamp up Noelle again. I paired her up with the beautiful Silent Night sentiment from the Scripted Greetings set which I stamped using ColorBox Warm Violet chalk ink. The paper is all from an older Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather pad. I cut the holly from felt with the Holly and Berry Cutters, adding some lavender Kaisercraft pearls for the berries.

A Little Bit of Fall Magic

Today's project is a set of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which feature the Sweet November A Little Bit of Magic set of tiny fairies. You might remember these from this summer here and here. I really wanted to do these in a fall theme too and ATCs seemed a perfect way to use all nine of them.

I first stamped them and then drew in some long sleeves more befitting of the fall weather with my Copic Multi-liner pen. Since I had nine girls to color, I limited my hair colors to blond, brown or red as well as the clothing to three color schemes which matched the Simple Stories Harvest Lane patterned paper. Once colored with Copics, I fussy cut them all out. To make the ATCs I used a kraft base and a dark brown mat. Each ATC centered around one of the mini flash cards from the 6x6 pad. Other common elements include a paper button, a heart shape and either a mini doily or a tree and of course one of the super cute teeny tiny fairies. If you look close you will find a couple of them with an acorn cut with the C.C. Designs Acorn Cutters set.

Here are the individual photos:

You will notice no bulk on these ATCs for a good reason. I am giving these away and wanted them to fit in a regular mailing envelope requiring no extra postage. I am offering these to the first nine people who email me at nthom100(at)gmail(dot)com. Please specify a first and second choice and I will try my best to get one of those to you if still available. (These are all gone). Otherwise I will substitute. International readers are welcome to participate. When you make your request, also include your name and address. Here is a numbered version of the ATCs to assist you in your selection:

Autumn Greetings

I took a short break from blogging this week. I just needed to step away from the computer while getting some much needed things done elsewhere. We spent two days cleaning around the exterior of the house. Our window sills especially needed some attention as well as some overgrown schrubs. And although my back isn't thanking me for any of it, our house looks refreshed and ready for the winter.

I did work on some crafty things too but not much that I can share with you yet. All That Scraps is having yet another huge release that I think you will love. Previews start in about a week.

In the meantime, fall has arrived in the South. I love this time of year. The only things that spoils it is knowing that winter follows. We are finally getting some color changes so I was inspired to break out some fall related paper and stamps. The paper is from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider collection as is the stamp. The background  is a section from a sheet of 12x12 paper.  I couldn't resist the coordinating stamp set especially since it was very reasonable in price. Since I wanted a white pumpkin I first stamped the big pumpkin image with Memento Rich Cocoa and then colored primarily the edges of each pumpkin rib to add some character without changing the color. The sentiment is from C.C. Designs Thankful for Fall set. I stamped it onto the top of a tag shape cut with a Papertrey Ink die. I finished things up with some Prima leaves, a button and some twine.

Products: Bo Bunny stamp and dp, C.C. Designs sentiment stamp, Prima Leaves, Fancy Pants button, Papertrey Ink die, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E40, E81, E35

Have a great Sunday.

In My Thoughts (TCP Tuesday 232)

Today's project is for TCP Tuesday (TCP Tuesday 232) which is a technique/supply challenge from our hostess this week Julie to create a  shaped card this week. The catch is the shape has to be fall related!

I associate apple harvesting with fall so I made an apple shaped card using Photoshop Elements to create. After cutting out the card base I covered the front with patterned paper from the Simple Stories Harvest Lane 6x6 pad. I don't always get such great use of a pad of paper but I've definitely put this one to work. I added a felt stem that I free hand cut and then backed with cardstock to make it a bit sturdier. The felt leaves were cut with the Flower Buttons CutUps. I wrapped twill around the card front on a diagonal slant ending in a bow and then added one of the journaling elements on which I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said set. The rosette was cut with the Sunflower Rosette CutUps. I smattering of buttons completed the homespun look. See that tiny felt heart below the sentiment? It was leftover from last week's TCP card.

This also meets the requirements for the Ship Shape challenge (HYCCT1210) in the Hope You Can Cling To forum at Splitcoast Stampers benefiting UT MD Anderson Hospital.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Simple Stories dp, PTI felt and buttons, May Arts twill

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found in the TCP Splitcoast Stampers Forum. As always, there is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week) and possibly even Swanky Stamper of the Month. I hope you will join us this week if you haven't already.

And speaking of apples, we just replenished our supply of Honey Crisps. My absolute favorite apple.

Never Feel Darkness

The weather this weekend just could not be more perfect. I wish I could say the same about my back. I spent much of the day yesterday on the couch with an ice pack. I'm moving around better today so I'm hoping to catch up on a few things.

Today's card features the My Favorite Things Inspired by Lighthouses which I stamped directly onto a subtle patterned paper using Hero Arts Wet Cement Shadow Ink. I then stamped the sentiment from the same set below the image using Memento Paris Dusk ink. The patterned paper is all from the Bazzill Basics Beach House 6x6 pad. The vertical border was cut with My Favorite Things Star Border Die-namics and I used the leftovers in the upper right corner, adding jewels for the centers. Some twill and an oversized button provided the finishing touches. I generally followed this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC93) for the layout. This also fits the requirements for the Courage challenge (HYCCT1205) in the Hope You Can Cling To forum at Splitcoast Stampers benefiting UT MD Anderson Hospital.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, Bazzill dp, PTI button, Bo Bunny jewels

That's it for the day. Have a beautiful Sunday!

Thinking of You (TCP Tuesday 231)

I have a TCP Tuesday card today. This week's hostess is  Jen with another one of her fabulous inspiration challenges (TCPTUES231).

I was inspired by the autumnal piece and created a card featuring The Tweetest Thing set. I stamped the branch from the set and fussy cut out after coloring with Copics. I added some felt leaves cut with the Flower Buttons CutUps and "hung" a birdhouse cut with the matching Home Tweet Home CutUps, also from felt. I used  the Inside Pinking CutUps for a border and stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said set directly onto the background paper. I paired everything up with my favorite fall paper, Simple Stories Harvest Lane and generally followed this week's Deconstructed Sketch (73) for the layout.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Simple Stories dp, PTI felt and buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, W1, E81, E42, E44
