On Your Wedding Day {Purple Onion Designs}

June is wedding month and today's card was created for the son of good friends who was married this past weekend.

I stamped the image from the Purple Onion Designs Little Church set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, lightly colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I cut the card background from textured cardstock with a stitched rectangular die. I then cut a circle window used a stitched circle die and then placed a piece of fabric based card stock inside the window. We have been cleaning out our upstairs closets in preparation for new carpet and I found it in my old 12x12 scrapbook stash. You will probably see it again now that I have rediscovered it! The sentiment from the set was stamped directly onto the background using Smoke ink. This set also has some meaningful sentiments for the inside of the card.

What's Buzzin? {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card uses Purple Onion Designs stamps featuring images illustrated by Stacey Yacula.

I randomly stamped the bee image from the Net, Butterfly & Bee  and the Garden Bugs sets onto Neenah card stock cut with an MFT wavy stitched die. The sentiment from the Love Bug Sentiments set by Stephanie Ackerman was stamped directly onto the image panel. After coloring all the bees with Copic Markers I added the honeycomb cut with a Verve die and a few black enamel dots. Sometimes I don't mind spending a lot of time on a card but this wasn't one of them as it took approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. Easy peasy!!

Copics: W00, E81, Y11, Y21

A Fintastic Friend

Hello! I am back again using a recently purchased stamp set. I haven't been buying a lot of stamps because I just have not had time to get inky with them. So after months and months of not buying anything I recently purchased from three different companies in one weekend. The promise to myself was that I had to use them as soon as received and I have managed to do that. Today's card features the new C.C. Designs Under the Sea set. I use to design for this company so I know how cute their stamps are!

I stamped the mermaid image onto Copics X-Press It card stock, colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I then used Ranger Liquid Pearls to add to dimension to her pearls. To create the card background I used two sizes of Lil Inker Designs Stitched Circle dies to cut out "bubbles" from Bazzill textured card stock and then backed the cut outs with some Avery Elle patterned paper. I attached to the card base and then added a border using the Taylored Expressions Wave Border die along with a strip of patterned paper. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card background using Blue Jay ink.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, Fancy Pants and Avery Elle dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Doodlebug sequins, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Lil Inker Designs and Taylored Expressions die, MFT and Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E01, E13, R20; Hair-E50, Y21, E33, E35; Top-YG0000, YG21, YG23, YR01, YR12; Tail-B21, B23, B26; Pearls-W00, E81

I hope everyone is staying cool. I got extremely overheated on Monday and really haven't felt the same since. Be careful!

Thank You {Purple Onion Designs}

I stamped the Arbour and the butterfly from the Net, Butterfly and Bee set twice onto a Neenah card stock rectangle and then colored all with Copic markers. The sentiment from the Sweet Occasions Sentiment set was stamped directly onto the image panel. I added a frame on the image panel and attached it to the cardstock and patterned paper background using a layer of craft foam. A few sequins completed the simple design.

Thinking of You

I'm back again today with another challenge card using a new stamp set from Reverse Confetti. As I mentioned on my Monday post, I am not crafting enough outside of design team projects to justify buying anything so if I do I have made a promise to myself to use right away or at the very least, as soon as possible. Case in point today, the new Reverse Confetti Seaside set.

I haven't participated in the SFYYT challenge in over a year so I decided give it another try with the June Sketch for the layout. The color scheme and theme came from a new challenge, The Heart Desires Challenge #1 that I just happened to run across the other day. I used a Lil Inkers Design Stitched circle die to cut out the three circles on a strip of Soft Stone patterned paper for a tall card. It was matted onto light blue cardstock. The waves were cut from Hawaiian Shores patterned paper using the Taylored Expressions Wave Border and then slipped between the mat and cut out circles. I stamped the various sea creatures using Bermuda Bay, Orange Fizz and Blueberry inks and then cut out with the matching Seaside Confetti Cuts. After securing the panel to the card base, I attached each of the animals to the inside of a circle using a combo of glue and foam dots. I stamped the sentiments from the My Favorite Things Label Maker Sentiments using Blueberry ink and then cut out with the matching Label Tape dies. A couple of orange sequins finished it up.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, MFT Stamps, dies and ink, PTI dp and cs, Doodlebug sequins, Taylored Expressions and Lil Inker Designs dies, Stampin' Up ink

Thank you for stopping by and for sticking with me even though I am not getting as inky these days.

Sending You Sunshine

I haven't been doing much crafting other than design team assignments this year as we have been extremely busy working on the house. Consequently, I also haven't been buying many new stamps and dies either because it is so hard to justify purchases when you don't have the time to use them. But really, I just could not resist the cute critters in the new My Favorite Things Sweet Forest Friends set and since I had a couple of free hours on Saturday I decided to put it to good use.

It has literally been years since I participated in an MFT challenge so I took the plunge and combined these cute little images with the Wednesday Sketch Challenge #284. I stamped the tree, bunny, butterfly and bird onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then cut out with the matching dies from the Sweet Forest Friends Die-namics and colored with Copic markers. I created the image panel by first cutting a square with an older Nestie and then cutting out the circle with an MFT circle die. I decorated the back of the circle with blue card stock for the sky and patterned paper for the grass/meadow. After attaching to the prepared card base, I created a simple scene using the image pieces. The sentiment was stamped onto a banner shape and secured with foam tape and I added a sweet little sun using a die from the Notched Tag Die-namics that has been in my stash for a very long time.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps, dies and ink, Doodlebug dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Sakura Gelly Roll pen, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E50, E51, E53, R20, W00, E81; Tree-W1, W2, E30, E31, E33, E35; Bird-B41, B32; Butterfly-Y0000, Y11, Y21

I will definitely be using this set again. Too cute!

Thinking of You {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card uses Purple Onion Designs stamps featuring images illustrated by Stacey Yacula.

After cutting a square from Neenah card stock, I stamped up Chip and then the Grass image twice to place him in a grassy scene. Chip was suppose to be a chipmunk but I made him into a fox just because I felt like it! I layered the image piece with craft foam onto two squares of patterned paper and stamped the sentiment from the Homegrown Sentiments set directly onto the card base using Rich Cocoa ink. I finished it with Baker's twine and a scattering enamel dots.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, Doodlebug dp and enamel dots, PTI baker's twine, The Cat's Pajamas die, Spellbinders dies, Memento inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Fox-E97, E99, W00, E81; Grass-YG0000, YG01, YG91, YG97; Sky-B0000, B000

TCP Tuesday #316 Challenge

It's time for another TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas with a challenge to feature a summer theme on your project. The challenge runs for two weeks and The Cat’s Pajamas products are not required although we would love to see you use them, especially since we have a whole Summer Fun category of stamps.

I stamped one of the flower images from the Simple Blooms set twice onto a rectangular piece of Ranger Distress Watercolor cardstock using Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. I then used two of the Ranger Distress Crayons (Peacock Feather and Twisted Citron) and the Mini Ink Blending tool to represent grass and sky. After matting the image panel with Parrot Green cs and wrapping twine around it, I attached to the card base. I used a larger stitched rectangle to emboss a frame around it and stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said set underneath. I added two of the small butterflies cut from leftover water colored projects using the Butterflies CutUps set topped with small enamel dots.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Ranger Water Color and PTI cs, The Twinery twine, Doodlebug enamel dots, Versamark ink, Ranger Distress Crayons

Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EST before the next challenge.
  3. You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  4. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
