(The Cat's Pajamas} Halloween Gift Tags

Good morning. I have some fun Halloween projects to showcase today using digital stamps from The Cat's Pajamas.

For the witch tag, I combined the Witch from the Hide & Eek set and the Jack o' Lantern and Sentiment from the Hocus Pocus set using Silhouette software. For the second tag I combined Frankenstein from the Hocus Pocus set and the Moon Tombstone, Spider Web, Hanging Spider, Mound and Sentiment from the Hide & Eek set. The eraser tool was used to remove the moon from the tombstone and then I placed the sentiment on it. After I was satisfied with the arrangements, I printed onto Copic friendly cardstock and then cut out both images with a tag die. I used the matching frame tag die to cut from green parakeet and Hawaiian shores cardstock. Both tags were decorated with patterned paper, a button from my stash and the cardstock frames and then punched a hole in the top of each. Using the same tag set I used a larger die to cut a second patterned paper tag for each. I punched a hole on the two orange lunch bags I found in the card/gift wrap section of my local grocery store.

For the witch tag set, I threaded black ribbon through the tags and the front of the bag and tied in a bow.

The frankenstein set was attached with green grosgrain ribbon.

Tricks and Treats

Good morning. I am taking a break from Christmas cards with a Halloween card today using products from Picket Fence Studios

I created the card front by adding a patterned paper border at the top portion and then cutting out circle with a inside/out stitched die and attaching the cellophane in the opening. I then stamped several of the small Halloween icons to the bottom along with the sentiment all from the Here for All the Boos stamp set. To create the shaker sandwich I stamped the card base with one of the ghosts also from the Here for All the Boos four times onto the card front for the backing. I filled the shaker spot with a combo of pieces from the Spooky Town Sequin Mix plus some purple pieces from another sequin mix that is no longer in stock. I added Foam Tape to the back, then placed on the card front incapsulating the shaker mix. Lastly, I cut out one of the ghosts from the Three Ghastly Friends from white textured cardstock, then added to the card front using foam dimensionals.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and dies, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, PFS Sequins, Altenew and Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: YR01, YR02, YR04, YG01, YG03

I am submitting this to the Color Hues #50 Challenge of Orange and Purple.

I hope you have a great week. Thank you for stopping by.

September 2022 Picket Fence Studios Release

Well hello there. It's the 14th of the month so it is time for the September Picket Fence Studios release. We are continuing with the fall and winter holidays and events so you will see Halloween, Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas images in this release.

We are celebrating the release with an Instahop on Instagram. If you want to participate in the Instahop start @picketfencestudios. There is a great prize available so be sure to check it out. You have until Sunday, September 18, 2022  at 11:59 CDT to participate.

For my first card, I cut a top folding A2 card base, then trimmed one inch off the left front side so that the front measured 3.25 by 5.5. For the inside exposed area, I used Caught in MyWeb to stamp with Versamark ink onto a purple cardstock strip and white heat embossed. I trimmed the piece to 1.25 by 5.5 and attached to the inside edge then adhered a couple of spider pieces from the Spidey Friends Sequin Plus Mix to the web image. I then cut a 3.25 by 5.5 gray cardstock piece and used the Slim Line Cloud Coverage Stencil and black soot ink to create a dark cloudy sky. I stamped the moon from the A Nightly Sky set released last month onto to the piece using Versamark ink, then silver metallic heat embossed it. I stamped the cat from the Cat Plays Fiddle to the Silver Moon onto white cardstock and cut out with the matching die and also stamped the sentiment using onto a black cardstock stitched edge circle and white heat embossed. Both pieces were attached to the card front using foam dimensionals with the cat tail hanging off the side of the card front. A few pieces from the Halloween Felines Sequin Mix finished it up. There are more views of this card on Instagram.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, die and stencil, Reverse Confetti dp, Simon Says, Bazzill and PTI cs, PFS Sequin Mix, Ranger Distress, Versamark and Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Fiddle-V12, V15, V17; Cat Eyes-YG01

I partially stamped the image from the Fall Colors are the Best of All stamp set onto Copic friendly cardstock, then cut out with a circle die and colored with Copic Markers. I splashed on some slightly watered down brown acrylic paint with a Fan Brush, then added more water to the paint and and tapped more of the mixture on to it. This way, I easily achieved different "splotch" sizes. While the piece dried, I blended harvest gold ink over the Shadow of Leaves Stencil around the circle cutout of the panel. The sentiment was stamped using rich cocoa ink. I placed the circle back in the cutout space and added a border cut from teal blue cardstock using one the dies from the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies set.

August 2022 Picket Fence Studios Release

It's the 14th of the month and that means it is time for the August
Picket Fence Studios release. This release is all about two big holidays coming up, Halloween and Christmas.

After stamping Taurus Girl onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers giving her Cruella type hair color. Not all witches are ugly doncha know?! I love when I find alternate uses for a stamp. I masked her (I don't have the die) then selectively blended black ink over the A2 Cauldron of Bats Stencil using a small brush from the Life Changing Blender Brushes set. I attached pieces from the October 31st Sequin Mix and then stamped the sentiment from the Not Scared? You Should Be! set. I added a patterned paper border to the card front, then attached the image piece using a layer of Foam Tape

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and Stencil, Reverse Conetti dp, PTI cs, PFS Sequin Mix, Altenew ink, Copic Markers

After stamping the Raining Zombies onto Copic friendly cardstock I cut out with a square die, then I colored them with Copics for more ghostlike zombies. For the card front I added patterned paper on the lower half of a stitched edge rectangle, then used the square die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System to create the opening. I added a cellophane piece to the opening, then added a layer of Foam Tape to the back capturing the combo oAlien Invasion and Skeleton Crew Sequin Mix. I stamped the sentiment from the Cat Plays Fiddle to the Silver Moon onto white cardstock using the PFS Black Hybrid ink, cut out with the matching die and attached to the card front using thin foam dimensionals.

{Reminder} The Cat's Pajamas October Challenge

I am here today for the mid month reminder for the October TCP Tuesday Challenge which is to create a project with Autumn in mindThis includes autumnal colors, activities or a holiday such as Thanksgiving or Halloween. TCP products are not required but encouraged. You have until the end of the month to submit a project and there is a $50 gift voucher up for grabs.

I decided to go with a Halloween theme for my reminder card. I have been trying to use more of my patterned paper on my cards because I have so much of it! I haven't used the Big Top CutUps in a long time but in looking back every time I do I make it a bit different. I love Halloween carnivals but I assume they are verboten this year due to Covid. Sigh. I used the ticket strip patterned paper for the sentiment. I also added a small pumpkin stamped and cut using the Year of the Rat bundle

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Pumpkin-YG01, YG03, YR20, YR23, YR24, Y35

Post your projects here. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe.

Woo Hoo! {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card features images illustrated by Stacey Yacula (@staceyyacula) for Purple Onion Designs

I stamped Billy (goat), the Cotton Candy Cart and the lollipop from the Fair Accessories set all from the Sunny Meadow Fair collection onto Copic friendly cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Carnival/Fair Blurbs sentiment set directly onto the card front using raspberry fizz ink. I went all patterned paper happy creating a canopy type border at the top.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Goat-W00, E81, N1, N3, N7, C1, C3, R00, R01, V12, V15, V17; Lollipop-R81, RV13, RV17; Cart-R81, R83, RV13, RV17, C00, C1, C3, C7, YR01, YR12, YR14; Cotton Candy-R81, R83, RV13, BG13, R0000, R81, V12; Grass-YG01, YG03

This is about as close as I am going to get to a fair or carnival considering Covid so I guess I am just papercrafting it instead.

TCP Tuesday October Challenge #362

The October TCP Tuesday challenge is all about Fall. It's a great time of year with beautiful colors, fun activities and holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving. You have until the end of the month to complete a project and TCP products are not required. And an added bonus is the $50 gift voucher some lucky artist will win.

My granddaughters love dragons and stuffed animals so when I found two slightly different TY dragons I thought they would make a great Halloween gift. Of course being the crafter I had to make some spooky gift tags to attach to each.

I cut both tags from white cardstock using the die from the Wish Tag Duo set.

For the first tag, I stamped three of the icons and cut with the matching dies from the Snapes Alive bundle which was just recently released, then colored with Copic markers. I added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom of the tag then attached the word from the Halloween Tag Duo which was actually left over from a project created during the September release. I then added the broom, then the witches hat and cauldron using foam squares.

For the second tag, I stamped the tree and spider from the Hey Boo set which was also part of the TCP latest release, then added a patterned paper strip at the bottom. The bat was stamped and cut out with the matching dies from the Snapes Alive bundle and colored with Copic markers. The cat was cut from black cardstock using a die from the Portrait of Mew set. Both the bat and cat were attached with foam squares. I cut the word from orange cardstock using a die from the Boom! CutUps, then trimmed off the "m".

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Reverse Confetti dp, PTI cs, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bat and Cauldron-N1,N3,N5; Broom and Hat-YR12, YR14, YR16, W1, W2, W5

The Cat's Pajamas September Release and Blog Hop

It is release day at the The Cat's Pajamas! Seven new stamps, five new dies and four new stencils are available for purchase in The Cat's Pajamas shop.

We are celebrating the release with a blog hop. If you arrived here from the sweet and talented Julee's blog you are in the right place. If not, then please return to Kerry's blog because she is the beginning of the hop.

I cut a stitched circle from smoke gray cardstock, then used the new Neighboohood Stencilz to blend on the bats background with black ink. I stamped the witch image from the new Hey Boo set onto the circle then again on Copics X-Press It cardstock. After coloring the image with Copic Markers, I fussy cut out eliminating the spider and web, then superimposed it over the image on the circle. I pieced together the card background with patterned paper and cardstock. I stamped the sentiment onto the cardstock portion, then masked it and stamped the broom image from from the new Snapes Alive set. After coloring the broom, I then stamped the spider hanging of it. A few sequins added some sparkle.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek and TCP Tuesday Reminder} Hey Boo & Birch Snowglobe

Welcome to the first day of seven days of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. There are 5 new stamp sets, 7 die sets and 4 new stencils in this release. All the new products will be made available for purchase as revealed throughout the week with the full release on September 24 at which time there will be special discounting.

First up is a simple Halloween tag for the adult trick or treaters which I will give to a neighbor. I used the previously released Halloween Tag Duo to cut the bottom tag from white cardstock and the top from black. After stamping the witch image and a couple of more stars from the new Hey Boo set, I colored with Copic markers. I sandwiched the two pieces together and added the sentiment stamped onto a double ended fishtail tag, attaching to the piece with foam squares. The tag was tied onto a bottle of wine with several strands of curl ribbon for a fun and festive look. I am going to have to confess that I have no idea if the wine is good - I just liked the colors for Halloween. The things we do for our craft!

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI cs, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Witch-E00, E02, N1, N3, N5, BG01, BG02; Bottle-YG01, YG03, YR01, YR12, YR04; Cloud-W00, E81; Stars-Y11

This day also coincides with our mid-month reminder that the current TCP Tuesday Challenge is all about layering.

With the challenge in mind I used the new Birch Snowglobe die to create a snowy scene using patterned paper and cardstock. The sentiment from the previously released Believe set was stamped using gala red ink onto a double ended fishtail tag and attached to the panel using foam squares. I cut the birds from pure poppy cardstock using the previously released The Birds die. I placed two of them on the birch trees and one perched onto the sentiment tag backed with a snowflake cut with a die from the previously released Five Snowflakes die set (which is not exclusive to TCP).

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Lawn Fawn and Honey Bee dp, PTI cs, WPlus9 ink
