Christmas Cards x 2

I managed to miss my goal of doing at least one Christmas project a month this March so I am doubling up here in April.

First up is a Lili of the Valley stamp Collecting the Tree which I paired up with Crate Paper dp. I tried a different Memento ink to stamp the image, Expresso Truffle which gives a softer look than the Tuxedo Black that I normally use. I used a piece from one of the label sheets to stamp the PTI sentiment. A combo of Ranger Stickles and Polar White Flower Soft emulated snow.

Products: Lili of the Valley stamp, PTI sentiment stamp, Crate Paper dp, Linen Thread, American Crafts ribbon, MFT and PTI buttons, Ranger Stickles, Flower Soft, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Bears-E40, E41, E42; Scarves-W00, E81, BG10, BG11, BG34; Tree-YG0000, YG21, YG01; Snow-G0000, G00; Shadows-C00, C1

I used the same Crate Paper pad for my second card using Sugar Nellie Christmas Garland stamp. I bought some 4x8 envelopes this winter so the card size is 3.75x7.5. I cut down the base  top 3/4 of inch in order to allow the front panel to reflect the snowflake top cut with one of The Cat's Pajamas Holiday Toppers CutUps. The small sawtooth border at the bottom of the image was cut with The Cat's Pajamas Pinking Border CutUps.

Products: Sugar Nellie stamp, Crate Paper dp, May Arts ribbon, Basic Grey fabric brad, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, BG10, BG11, BG34, YG0000, YG21, YG01, RV00, R81, R83, R22, R24, R27

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas in April cards! Thanks for stopping by.

Skating Along

Well here I am 11 days into December and I have not one wrapped gift under the tree. Heck I only have hand full purchased. The house is only partially decorated and it could use a good cleaning. I can't remember the last time I cooked dinner. I am on some new antibiotics, a new cough syrup and got a steroid shot that made be feel so much better in just a matter of an hour or two. But I'm still sick and I've been ordered to rest.  Of course, that is pretty much what I've been doing for two weeks now. And whining. And coughing. And feeling depressed. And whining some more. But I do see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I've had this image colored for a week but couldn't muster up the energy to actually make the card. I actually think I already have enough Christmas cards made which I would know for sure if I would actually sit down to address and sign them. It's rather ridiculous that they are not in the mail by now considering I've been working on them since July.  But I do have several holiday stamps that have not been inked yet and I would really like to use them.

Future Star

Not only is it Thanksgiving and Black Friday week but it's also Iron Bowl week here in Alabama. That means football of course - the annual Alabama vs Auburn game, our in state rivalry game. Think Michigan vs Michigan State, USC vs UCLA, Ole Miss vs Miss St. But of course those games are rather wimpy compared to ours! And although all the controversy and allegations about Auburn have threatened to ruin it, all we can hope for is that the truth, whatever it is, will come out in the end. At any rate, the little guy on this card is ready for some football too. And although I am a diehard Alabama fan, these colors are a nod to Auburn. I stamped the Lili of the Valley image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, cut out with a rectangular Nestie and then colored with Copic Markers. The extra football is from a My Favorite Things stamp set and I found the leaf brad in my stash. I followed this week's Taylored Expressions sketch (TESC 134) although I did flip it around and also eliminated the ribbon.

The Search for the Perfect Tree

I'm not normally someone who likes purple of any hue but apparently I'm getting over that this year; especially when it's combined with lime green and aqua. Today's card is a simple one since I used a piece from the cut outs sheet from the Bo Bunny Winter Joy collection as my patterned paper.

Products: Lili of the Valley stamp, Bo Bunny dp and sticker; Kaisercraft jewels, American Crafts ribbon, Flower Soft, Ranger Stickles, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers

Copics: Bears-E50, E51, E53, E55; Scarves-BV00, BV01, BV11, BG10, BG11, BG13; Tree-YG11, YG23, YG25, E55, E57; Snow-B0000

I haven't forgotten my November house projects list; however, I think some of them will have to carry over into December. I just haven't got as much done as I would like. I have to admit that a lot of it had to do with my attitude and general overall funk. I am currently in the process of cleaning out the furniture holding much of my craft room supplies so I can give the set to my granddaughter Clara. I haven't got as much done as I would like but I do have the chest of drawers emptied. Two more pieces to go which are the lingerie and the bedside chest. Of course the whole room looks horrible because I haven't found a place to put everything I've cleaned out. There is plenty of room now in the closet but I really haven't decided on an organizational plan for it yet.
