Well hello there. It's the 14th of the month so it is time for the September Picket Fence Studios release. We are continuing with the fall and winter holidays and events so you will see Halloween, Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas images in this release.
We are celebrating the release with an Instahop on Instagram. If you want to participate in the Instahop start @picketfencestudios. There is a great prize available so be sure to check it out. You have until Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 11:59 CDT to participate.
For my first card, I cut a top folding A2 card base, then trimmed one inch off the left front side so that the front measured 3.25 by 5.5. For the inside exposed area, I used Caught in MyWeb to stamp with Versamark ink onto a purple cardstock strip and white heat embossed. I trimmed the piece to 1.25 by 5.5 and attached to the inside edge then adhered a couple of spider pieces from the Spidey Friends Sequin Plus Mix to the web image. I then cut a 3.25 by 5.5 gray cardstock piece and used the Slim Line Cloud Coverage Stencil and black soot ink to create a dark cloudy sky. I stamped the moon from the A Nightly Sky set released last month onto to the piece using Versamark ink, then silver metallic heat embossed it. I stamped the cat from the Cat Plays Fiddle to the Silver Moon onto white cardstock and cut out with the matching die and also stamped the sentiment using onto a black cardstock stitched edge circle and white heat embossed. Both pieces were attached to the card front using foam dimensionals with the cat tail hanging off the side of the card front. A few pieces from the Halloween Felines Sequin Mix finished it up. There are more views of this card on Instagram.
I partially stamped the image from the Fall Colors are the Best of All stamp set onto Copic friendly cardstock, then cut out with a circle die and colored with Copic Markers. I splashed on some slightly watered down brown acrylic paint with a Fan Brush, then added more water to the paint and and tapped more of the mixture on to it. This way, I easily achieved different "splotch" sizes. While the piece dried, I blended harvest gold ink over the Shadow of Leaves Stencil around the circle cutout of the panel. The sentiment was stamped using rich cocoa ink. I placed the circle back in the cutout space and added a border cut from teal blue cardstock using one the dies from the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies set.
