TCP Tuesday175 (and some news)

If you've ever visited this blog before today, it's probably been obvious to you that The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies are a big favorite of mine. I've been participating in the challenges for a while now and have always admired the fabulous design team. Well to make a long story short here, Alma has asked me to join The Cat Pack!! I couldn't possibly be more excited. You can see the official announcement here.

As my first official TCP duty, I have card for you today using a sketch by Leigh and boy,  is it ever an interesting one (TCPTUES175). I started out by stamping the bunny from the Take Off set and then cutting out with Spellbinders Nestabilities with some out-of-the circle action for those big ol' ears. I colored up the bunny with Copics and paper pieced the airplane portion. I substituted the pennants with some Jenni Bowlin star and letter stickers pierced with a couple of Making Memories star stickpins. I covered up where I stuck the pins with a couple of JB letter stickers. I took some liberty with the main sentiment by stamping it directly onto the circle panel rather than as shown on the sketch. I used the Cloud Border CutUps die (which unfortunately is out of stock at the moment - it will be back soon though) to cut a strip of clouds which I then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. For a finishing touch I wrapped the Airmail Divine Twine around the border tying through a button from my stash.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park dp, Divine Twine, Jenni Bowlin stickers, Making Memories stickpins, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic markers

Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42; Helmet-B93, B95, B99; Aviator glasses-R27, R29, C3, C5, C7; Smoke-C00, C3

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found on Alma’s blog. There is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week). Good luck!!

Cookies for Santa

I have another Christmas card today. I'm working on them at a snail's pace this year. I stamped and colored the Sweet November Cookie and Milk Girl with Copics. I couldn't resist giving her a flannel nightgown with paper piecing. The chipboard sticker is a Making Memories piece which I matted on to a big snowflake cut with The Cat's Pajamas Snowflake Cutups. By the way there is a digital version of the stamp also.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

It's the first Wednesday of the month so that means the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge has a theme of "anything goes".

I made a set of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) using the adorable Sweet November Fairwees collection released in August. These tiny little girls are perfect for the 2.5 x 3.5 ATC size. Love You

I know on the calendar the official last day of the summer is on the 22nd but for me Labor Day signals the end of summer. I'm not ready to give it up yet though thus my very summery looking card. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas Honey Bear image, colored with Copics and then cut out. I stamped the sentiment inside the heart P.J. is holding and added a fun Doodlebug bee brad so that it appears it has landed on his other hand. The patterned paper is Echo Park Country Drive.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Echo Park dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, PTI cs, sentiment stamp and twill, Doodlebug decorative brad, Copic Markers

Copics: E50, E51, E53, BG70, B0000, B000, YG21, YG23, YG25

I hope you've had a great Labor Day holiday! We just returned from a trip to Charleston SC and are doing a bit of catch up today!

Sweet November Preview Day 3 - Hilda with Vlad and Mumford

Welcome to day three of the Sweet November stamp previews for September. I have two more Halloween cards today featuring "Hilda with Vlad" and "Mumford."

First up is another version of Hilda and this time she is hanging out with her bat buddy Vlad. Perhaps she is going to share with him that potion she brewed up in her tiny cauldron. After stamping and coloring both images, I cut them out, adhering to the background with pop dots here and there for dimension. I added some black Liquid Applique to represent the cauldron brew. The paper is some older Ki Memories which is still a fave of mine.

Products: Sweet November stamp, Ki Memories dp, Doodlebug button and ric rac, May Arts ribbon, Liquid Applique, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-YR12, YR14, YR16; Skirt/Hat Brim-V01, V12, V17; Top-YG0000, YG01, YG03; Hat/Sash/Shoes/Cauldron-C3, C5, C7, C9; Bat-N1, N5, N7, Y15, Y17

My second card features Mumford. It's a good thing he is cute because he is being rather demanding about the chocolate. The design is simple as the paper pretty much did all the work for me.

Products: Sweet November stamp, The Cat's Pajamas sentiment, My MInd's Eye dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Ki Memories mini brads. Copic Markers
Copics: E000, E00, E11, R20, R22, C00, W00, E510

Sweet November Preview Day 2 - Hilda with Luna and Joe Joe

Welcome to day two of the Sweet November stamp previews for September. I have two more fun Halloween cards today featuring "Hilda with Luna" and "Joe Joe."

First up is a good witch Hilda with her friend Luna. After stamping the image I cut her with Spellbinders Nestabilities with parts of the image outside of the box. After coloring her with Copic markers, I created a 3d broom with baker's twine. At least it is suppose to look like a broom. When I showed the card to Don, he asked me why the witch was holding a mop! The patterned paper is all MME Mischievous pad.

Sweet November Preview Day 1 - Hazel with Webster and Thurston

Welcome to the first of three days of Sweet November stamp previews for September. If you love Halloween as much as I do, you will love these images. I had a blast making projects for this release. Today's projects feature "Hazel with Webster" and "Thurston."

First up is a cutie patootie witch, Hazel with her spidey friend Webster. I had some of the fabulous The Girl's Paperie paper left over from last year (so sad that company is no more) so I colored up Hazel to match it. The orange trim is some older Little Yellow Bicycle and the cool paper doily is new from Martha Stewart. The ribbon is from my stash.

Products: Sweet November stamp, The Girl's Paperie and Little Yellow Bicycle dp, Hero Arts sentiment stamp, Martha Stewart paper doily, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Hair/Spider/Shoes-C3, C5, C7, C9; Dress/Hat-C00, C1, E50; Pumpkin-YR12, YR18, YR04, YR23, YG23, YG25

Thurston the vampire is next and I created a night scene for him using the new and fabulous My Mind's Eye Mischievous 6x6 pad. I computer generated the sentiment, printed onto plain white cardstock and then cut it out "tombstone" style, distressing the edges with ink. The felt crow and ghost joining the night party are Making Memories.

Products: Sweet November stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, My Favorite Things Die-Namics, Making Memories felt ghost, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E30, E00; Hair-N1, N3, N7; Tongue-R20, R22; Cape-BG70, BG10, BG72; Tuxedo-C3, C5, C7, E13, E15, D19; Tombstone-E50
