If Nothing Ever Changed

I am trying to follow along with some of the challenges at Splitcoast Stampers for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive benefiting those affected by breast cancer (in partnership with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center). I made a few cards last year but hope to get more done this time around. Today's card represents Beate's Rays of Hope challenge (HYCCT1201C) to create a card mostly in grays with one splash of color.

I combined papers from the October Afternoon Farmhouse 8x8 pad and Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow cardstock with the My Favorite Things Inspired by Butterflies stamp set. I first cut the butterfly shape from patterned paper with the the butterfly shaped Die-namics and stamped it with the matching image using Nick Bantock ink. I then heat embossed it with Black Diamonds embossing powders for a bit of sparkle. I used a couple more Die-namics to create the rolled rose and and the two stripes behind the main image. I applied dimensional dots underneath each wing for a bit of lift. The sentiment stamped on a fishtail banner, a few pearls and twill ribbon bow provided the finishing touches. I multi-tasked  by combining this challenge with this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge (MFTWSC92) for the layout. I am usually my own worst critic but I really like how it turned out.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, October Afternoon dp, Kaisercraft pearls, May Arts twill, Spellbinders Nestabilities

That's it for today. Have a fabulous weekend.

Sweet November Preview - Harmony

Welcome to the last day day of Sweet November previews for All That Scraps. We are wrapping up the angel posts and today's card features Harmony. I used my new favorite border die again, Music Border Cutters as well as another new die set for this release, Bells Cutters. The paper is from the My Mind's Eye All is Bright pad. I wanted the card to have a golden glow so I kept the colors monochromatic. I added a couple of pre-made embellishments, the Webster's Pages Sparkler and a Daisy D's metal button from way back in my stash.

Love You Furever (TCP Tuesday 230)

***This is my second post for the day. Please scroll down for my Sweet November preview card.***

Today's TCP Tuesday challenge card  is a sketch by our hostess Amy (TCPTUES230). Don't ask me why but in the midst of working with Halloween/Fall and Christmas images I decided I needed to change things up and get into Love/Valentine's Day! I used the It Had to Be Mew set, doing a bit of fussy cutting after stamping and coloring with Copics. I combined papers from last year's My Mind's Eye Love Me and Lost and Found Blush pads. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the patterned paper.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI buttons, Heidi Swapp jewels, Copic Markers
Copics: Hearts-R30, R32, R35; Hat-W1, W2, W5, R24, R27, R46; Eyes-C1, C3, C5

All the details for this TCP Tuesday challenge can be found in the TCP Splitcoast Stampers Forum. As always, there is potential for fame (Pick of the Litter) and/or fortune (Pick of the Week) and possibly even Swanky Stamper of the Month. I hope you will join us this week.

The sentiment is from the new C.C. Designs Scripted Greetings set which was embossed with silver embossing powder. Some buttons and pearls provided the finishing touches. The card size is A6.

***This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my C.C. Designs portion of the All That Scraps previews.***

Welcome to the first day of Sweet November previews for All That Scraps. You are going to love these sweet and beautiful angels. First up is Felicity. I dug deep into my Christmas 12x12 stash for the silver and white patterns and then added the seafoam green from last year's Echo Park Holly Jolly pad. I kept things simple adding a Prima swirl piece for an elegant embellishment and a simple sentiment stamped to match the seafoam green pattern and color in the image.

C.C. Designs Preview - Caroling Emma

I'm back with another preview of the All That Scraps stamps and dies for October. Today's card is another Christmas image from the Sugarplums line, Caroling Emma.

I tried a new technique for me - coloring in pleats when they are not pre-drawn on the image. Let's just say, I will need to work on that in the future! In addition to the new image, I used lots of other new goodies too. See that musical note strip at the top? I cut it with my favorite new border die, Music Border Cutters. A MUST have in my opinion. I did have to run it through my Big Shot a couple of extra times but so worth the extra few seconds of effort. It looks delicate but is actually quite sturdy when cut from cardstock. Another new item for this release is the Holly and Berry Cutters. I cut mine out from felt and layered onto the music element for a Christmas-y touch. And last but definitely not least, I used the new Scripted Greetings set for the sentiment. This is another set that is a must have in my humble opinion to go on the outside as well as the inside of your Christmas cards. I heat embossed the "joy" portion for a little extra shine. The paper is from the Authentique Festive Bundle 6x6 pad.

C.C. Designs Preview - Snow Joy and Snow Noel

Welcome to the first of several days of All That Scraps October stamps and dies previews. It's Christmas in October for this release! I am featuring two new stamps today, Snow Joy and Snow Noel. Love these snowmen spelling out the sentiment.

First up is Snow Noel. I really wanted my colors to be as cute and colorful as these little guys so I chose papers from the new Lily Bee Christmas Cheer pad. I sandwiched a button between two different sizes of snowflakes for a snowy embellishment and added some Polar White Flower Soft to the image.  I generally followed the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp, Lily Bee dp, May Arts ribbon, PTI button, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Copic markers
Copics: Snowmen-W00, E81, YR01, YR12, R22, R24, G20, G43; Noel-BG70, B0000, B000, B01

My second card features Snow Joy. I combined this fun image with papers from the My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland 6x6 pad. I added an additional sentiment in the white space of the main image panel. It is a just one of the many sentiments from the also new Scripted Greetings set. And again a scattering of Flower Soft provided a bit more snow. You wouldn't want these crazy kids to melt too soon afterall.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI button, Flower Soft, Copic Markers
Copics: Snowmen-W00, E81, YR01, YR12, BG70, BG0000, BG72, BG75, YG0000, YG21, YG13, YG91; Joy-R22, R24, R27
