Merry & Bright

I have another Christmas card today using the neon colors of the current Merry Monday #129 Christmas Challenge. It's been weeks since I've had a chance to play and it feels good to get back in the Merry Monday saddle so to speak.

I first cut a white rectangular piece using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mat die. I stamped the lines from the Wplus9 Heartfelt Mix set and then various snowflakes from the Wplu9 Folk Art Flurries all in bright ink colors. I stamped the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Tag-Its #8 set onto a circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities circle and then stamped two ornaments from the My Favorite Things Ornament Banner Builder onto pieces cut with the matching Ornament Banner Builder Die-namics. I also cut and attached two snowflakes cut from Hawaiian Shores card stock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes. The inks used were Studio Calico Lime Light and Memento Tangelo and Rose Bud. All the snowflakes were topped with Kaisercraft jewels.

Halloween Gift Set

If you were around when we were posting The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks you saw this gift set I created for my granddaughters. Today I have another another Halloween Cookie Baking set for yet another set of granddaughters. I actually shared this at the The Cat's Pajamas pre-release Pajama Party at Splitcoaststampers but not here on the blog.

First up, I made a belly band for the cookie cutters (from Sur la Table) using a combination of Spellbinders Nestabilties (black and white) , the largest frame from the FancyFlip Frames (bright orange) and the Star Rosette CutUps (green) to cut the centerpiece which I attached together with an oversized brad from my stash.

I used the matching Cutables Brains! set in my Silhouette to cut out the mummy. After stamping the image onto the cut out I colored with Copic Markers. I combined this fun image with the new Pop-Up Treat Holder Cutables that I cut with a Silhouette. I resized to fit my Portrait Silhouette but also made a couple of more changes since I wanted to use mine for a Halloween themed mini spatula rather than candy.  I added an extra cut to the bottom of the treat card so I could insert the spatula through it. I had to forgo the "pop up" part due to the fact that I couldn't get any type of adhesive to stick to the mini spatula so it's more of a paintbrush style cover. I stamped the matching sentiment onto a piece cut with the smallest die from the Circus Panel CutUps and attached it inside the treat card. I also added "slime" which I cut with the Slime/Icicles CutUps and then adhered the mummy to the front. Lastly I tied a bow around the spatula handle.

For the icing tubes, I made a bag topper using a combination of dies from the Framed Up 2 CutUps, Fancy Flip and FancyFlip Frames, stamping the sentiment from the Eat, Drink and Be Scary set.

C.C. Designs Review (and an announcement)

It's review time on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the October release stamps.

Using the tag from the Baggie and Tag Cutters I cut one tag from patterned paper and the second one from plain white card stock. For the plain tag, I used a very old stamp to stamp the shadow using Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink. I then used the two "merry" sentiments from the Christmas Blessing set using black and red inks. I stamped the lines by inking the edge of the smallest "merry" stamp and then stamping onto the background. I attached the two tags together with a clothespin from the Doodlebug Halloween Mini Clothespins set, slipping some Hemptique cording underneath first. After attaching the tag set to a panel cut from patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Santa's List pad, I then colored one of the penquins from the Holiday Penguins with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. I attached to the background panel with dimensional dots and added Ranger Diamond Stickles to the bell portion of the image for a bit of sparkle. I am submitting this card for the current Tag You're It #7 challenge.

My second card is also a tag based one using an image from the Vintage Winter set.  I cut the tag from Neenah Classic Crest Natural White cardstock with the tag from the Baggie and Tag Cutters. I stamped the cardinal onto it and then trimmed off the lower half. I cut another tag from some Making Memories patterned paper from my old scrapbook stash (circa 2009). After coloring the image with Copic Markers, I tied the two tags together with with May Arts ribbon anchored with a button. I added some Ranger Diamond Stickles for the "snow" portion of the image and then attached the tag combo to the card stock background. The sentiment from the Snarky Christmas set and was stamped and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

And now for the announcement. Today's post is my last as a design team member for C.C. Designs. I started out with the challenge team approximately 3 and half years ago then transitioned to the Design Team. Christine has decided to reset the team with a Design Team call. This has actually made a decision I have been struggling with for a while much easier. I will not be reapplying as I have felt for some time now that it was time for me to go. Just a Note

Happy Monday to you. I hope your week is off to a great start.

Today's card is a clean and simple one. I stamped the typewriter from the Paper Smooches Just a Note set with black ink and then again with pink again. I fussy cut out the black typewriter and then the pink keys on the second one and layered together with dimensional dots. I cut a slit at the top of the image with my craft knife and then inserted a sheet of paper with the sentiment stamped on it. I attached the image to the background panel with a bit of glue and the bottom and craft tape at the top in order to tilt it forward slightly. A paper clip for the Doodlebug Halloween Mini Paperclips package completed the "office" look.

Luke 1:45

Good morning. I am here with the first October Viva la Verve sketch. I definitely put my own spin on the sketch but I think you can still see the bones of it.

I started out by stamping the sentiment from the Luke 1:45 stamp onto white card stock cut with the frame from the Cupcake Frame Die set although I lengthened it considerably. I also cut the flower using the Verve Happy Place die set then stamped with the matching image from the Happy Place stamp set. I  attached both to the background with dimensional dots. All the patterned paper came from the Studio Calico Brighton Pier pad.

Boo-Tastic

I have another Halloween card for you today using the Freshly Made Sketch #156 for the basic layout. I colored the mummy and kitty images from the Mama Elephant Bootastic set with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out. I also cut the pumpkin candy container in Memento Tangelo ink and fussy cut it out as well. I placed the mummy and pumpkin on the Martha Stewart Paper Doily using dimensional dots and the kitty on a circle cut with My Favorite Things. I stamped the bats and the sentiment directly onto the background panel. The Ki Memories patterned paper came from my scrapbook stash; it's amazing that I am still using it after all these years. The mini clips came from the Doodlebug Halloween Mini Paperclips set.

You Brighten My Day

Good afternoon!

Today's card is pulling double duty today as it is for the Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts challenge as well at the Hope You Can Cling To Shine On Challenge (HYCCT1401B) going over at Splitcoaststampers.

I used a combo of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Brighton Pier pad as well as two cuts using the PTI Hello Sunshine die set to create the "rays" at the top of the image panel. The image and sentiment from the Paper Smooches We Totally Click directly onto the image panel and then colored with Copic Markers. Very and clean and simple.
