{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} What's Mew?

Welcome to the second day of The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks. Sprinkle is back this month in the What's Mew set.

I started out by stamping Sprinkle onto a subtle patterned paper and then cut it using the notebook piece from the Toppers CutUps. I stamped the leaves and paws portions of the stamp onto green patterned paper and then fussy cut out. I also stamped the hat portion of the image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut it out. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card base. The patterned papers are a combination of Simple Stories Urban Traveler and 24/7 pads.

All That Scraps Review - Zooming and Beep Beep

It's review day on the All That Scraps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the May release stamps and dies.

Today's projects features Zooming from the Tumbleweeds collection and Beep! Beep! from the Meoples collection.

I paper pieced the airplane portion of the Zooming image and then finished up with Copics. The sentiment came from the also new Sunny Sentiments available in either rubber or clear. All the patterned papers came from the Studio Calico Here and There pad. I am really embracing a simpler style lately with just a few jewels for embellishments.

Products: C.C. Designs stamps and , Studio Calico dp, Kaisercraft jewels, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E50, E51, E53, E57; Dress-BG000, BG01, BG05; Goggles-N1, N3, N5, YR01, YR12, YR14

While I had everything on my craft table I also decided to make a matching ATC (artist trading card) using the also new Beep! Beep! stamp with the same Studio Calico pad. I created a road by cutting out a strip of gray paper and using a white Sharpie pen to create the center lines. The sentiment (which was actually from one of my TCP sets) was stamped onto one of the shapes from the Mini Banners Cutters.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Life's a Beach

Welcome to the first day of TCP Sneak Peeks. I hope you love this release as much as I do. I had so much fun and really felt a creative spark. I hope it shows with my projects. Today we are introducing Life's a Beach which features that big eared bunny you all know and love.

After stamping the image onto Copic X-Press It cardstock, I cut it out with a label shaped Nestie, leaving it uncolored. I stamped the umbrella portion again, colored with Copics and then attached to the image with glue at the top and then dimensional dots at the bottom to give it some lift. I used paper from Echo Park Splash and Paradise Beach pads and then added a bit of Ki Memories black and white paper. I really love this sentiment and I stamped it onto the white cardstock cut with the largest piece of the Circus Panels CutUps. I wrapped it around and secured to the inside of the card base. Some buttons and bling finished things up.

Copics: BG0000, BG000, BG53, G20, YG13, YG23

For my second project, I created a page for my journal. It is basically a journal done in a scrappy style. I find it cathartic to journal but I don't like just writing and nothing else so the Creative Journal was born. I've neglected it for far too long and really want to get back to it. I started out by cutting the actual journal page to size from a notebook style paper from my 12x12 stash, adding some notebook edges using one of the dies from the Toppers CutUps (I will cut the actual notebook holes later when I'm ready to add it to my journal notebook). I cut two tags using the new for this release Luggage Tags CutUps, one from plain lined paper and another from more decorative paper, both from the Simple Stories Urban Travel pad. I stamped the sentiment from the Life's a Beach set onto the top tag using Ranger's Archival ink and also used an older journal stamp to create some extra lines. After some short journaling, I tied the two tags together with a bit of ribbon and secured to the page. The button on the top tag acts as "doorknob" to life up to read the journaling underneath. The arrows were cut with the also new Talk to Me CutUps and I did a bit of messy stitching at the top.

Welcome to the last day of  C.C. Designs previews for All That Scraps for the May release. Today I'm featuring one of the new clear sets, Sunshine and Cloudy Days.

This set is just ding dang cute!  And sweet. And did I mention cute? I stamped the clouds onto a circle shape with a bit of masking and then added the sun. There are three different sun "faces' to choose from or you can just leave it plain. I did a bit of coloring with Copic markers so the image was completed in a jiffy! The sentiment came from the also new Sunny Sentiments available in either rubber or clear. All the patterned papers were from the Echo Park Splash pad.

Sweet November Preview - Josie and Jilly's Chat

Welcome to the last day of May previews featuring Sweet November for All That Scraps. Some of my favorite characters, the Fairwees are back again this month!

Today's card features Josie and Jilly's Chat. I decided to try a "no coloring"image again. Don't worry, this won't become a habit. Obviously if you've looked at my blog before, you know I love to color! But I also love the graphic look that a non-colored image can give. I stamped these cuties onto plain white cardstock with a hot pink ink and then stamped the sentiment from the also new AmyR Sunny Sentiments set directly onto the image panel with a turquoise ink. The sentiments are available in both rubber and clear. Since I went so light with color on the image I went crazy with it for the rest of the design by combining papers from the Simple Stories Sn@p and Bazzill Basics Lucy's Crab Shack pads. I cut the loopy spiral using the Curly-Q Border Cutters and anchored it with a button.

Sweet November Preview - Mia's Kite

***This is my second post for the day. Please scroll down for my C.C. Designs for All That Scraps preview.***

Welcome to day three of May previews featuring Sweet November for All That Scraps. Some of my favorite characters, the Fairwees are back again this month!

When I saw Mia's Kite, I immediately thought that Mia was so small and dainty that surely she would wind up riding along with the kite if a good wind caught it. In picturing her floating in the sky, an idea was born. Using the largest cloud in the My Favorite Things Jumbo Cloud Stax, I cut two pieces from white cardstock for the card base and one from the gorgeous cloud background paper by Doodlebug for the card front. I also cut two more sizes of white clouds from the same set from Copics X-Press it cardstock and then the sun die from Lil Inker's Designs from yellow cardstock. I secured the medium size cloud onto the card front with temporary adhesive and then stamped my image insuring that most of the kite portion of the image was positioned onto the cloud so it could be colored. I then stamped the Mia portion of the image onto Copics. After coloring both images, I then fussy cut out Mia. Using the original stamping on the card front as a guide, I attached the cloud and Mia, placing a dimensional dot underneath her head. I stamped the sentiment from the also new AmyR Sunny Sentiments onto the smallest of clouds and then placed both on the card front, slipping the sun in between the card base and front.  I realized the sun might be a bit vulnerable to damage so I decided to cut another to adhere to the back of it for additional stability.  I decided to add more color while I was at it by die cutting with orange cardstock and then offsetting it slightly when gluing to the back of the original one.

All That Scraps Preview - Letter for You

Welcome to another day of  C.C. Designs previews for All That Scraps for May. Today I'm featuring Letter for You from the Drozy's Darlings line.

After coloring up the image with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir pens, I cut out allowing small parts to fall outside of the rectangle including the pen. I cut out a small notebook piece and scribbled a bit on it then slipped it underneath the image. The background panel was embossed with a script design Cuttlebug embossing folder to reinforce the writing theme. The two banners at the top were cut with the C.C. Designs Banner Day Cutters. The sentiment came from the also new Amy R Sunny Sentiments available in either rubber or clear. All the patterned papers were from the American Crafts Soho Garden pad.
