Miss U

I've been immersed in design team fall and Halloween projects for almost two months so I feel as though I've given up on summer too early. If you are from the South, you know that even if the calendar is closing in on fall, summer is far from over especially when it concerns temperatures. So today's card is to remind me that summer is still here even as one of the rites off fall begins when Alabama plays Michigan in the Cowboys dome in Dallas tomorrow night.

Rosie is one of the newer stamps from Purple Onion Designs. Such a sweet, whimsical image that took only a few minute to color with Copic Markers. I combined it with some new My Mind's Eye patterned paper, The Sweetest Thing Tangerine and followed the layout from the current Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC166). I used the newly released C.C. Designs Corner Banner Die to make the banner portion of the sketch and added a sentiment from the My Favorite Things Die-namics Notched Tag Die and Stamp set.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamp, My Minds Eye dp, My Favorite Things sentiment, PTI buttons, C.C. Designs Cutters, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, YR0000, YR01, R11, R14, R17

Have a great weekend! Roll Tide!

Hero

Today's card represents the last of the "any hero" cards at least for the shipment I mailed on Tuesday to Operation Write Home. While my 9 and 11 year old granddaughters were visiting us for a couple of weeks during the summer, I asked them to write me some "any hero" letters. The letters really put a smile on my face so I'm hoping they do the same for the recipients. I was one card short when I started the triage/packing process so I made this one using the sketch for Viva La Verve challenge for August 24 (VLVAug2012).  I used another stamp from the American Hero set. I promise this is not my only Verve stamp set although it probably seems like it as much as I've use it this month! As you can see, I did not use the obvious patriotic colors this time around as I really liked this take on the camouflage pattern.

Products: Verve stamp, Doodlebug dp and pearls, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, PTI button, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilities

That's it for today. I hope to see you back here tomorrow.

Joy (TCP Tuesday 225)

Today's TCP Tuesday challenge card  is a sketch by our hostess Amy (TCPTUES225). The You Suit Me was not specifically created for Christmas but I thought I could make it work with my brand new My Mind's Eye All is Bright pad.  To give the image more of a vintage/shabby feel to match the paper I used soft hues to color it up and since I wanted to keep as much of the paper patterns visible I cut the image out for a smaller footprint. I cut the banner from another sheet of the patterned paper and secured the ends with linen thread and brads. The lacy border was cut with the Queen of Hearts CutUps.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Linen ThreadMy Mind's Eye dp, PTI ribbon, Copic Markers

Joy to the World

Happy Monday morning to you. I know, I know...there is probably no such thing as a happy Monday. But hey, at least we are living and making our way through the world as best we can. I had another reminder how fragile life can be with the death of yet another close friend last week.

Today I have another card featuring  this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge (MFTWSC86). I used the Santa again from Inspired by Christmas. I've really used this stamp set and am hoping MFT produces another fabulous Christmas set this season. I actually emailed some time ago and suggested an "inspired by" stamp based on the Nativity. Who knows if that will happen but it never hurts to ask! I am loving the new My Mind's Eye All is Bright pad so I colored up Santa in nontraditional colors to match the subtle color tones in the paper. The pad also contains some paper with a rich red color but just chose to not use it here. Some stitching, ribbon and buttons provided the finishing touches although I am not particularly happy with the bow.

Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11; Beard-W00, E81; eyes-B0000, Clothing-BG70, BG0000, BG10, E40, E41

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Thank You (TCP Tuesday 224)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES224) which is Susan's Stamp/CutUps challenge to use any stamp image that would have something to do with water and either the Wave or the Snowflake CutUps.

Well no surprise that I chose to use A Whale of a Time. This stamp was my very first purchase from The Cat's Pajamas, along with the Wave CutUps die. It's been a favorite stamp ever since. This time I chose to stamp him onto patterned paper so no coloring on this card. I also use the Cloud Border CutUps on which I stamped a sentiment from the Simply Said set. All the paper is from my new favorite paper pad, My Mind's Eye Summer Splash .

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, My Mind's Eye dp, American Crafts ribbon, PTI buttons, Quickutz embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities

Sweet November Review - Pumpkin Fun Luna

Today is review day on the All That Scraps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the August Sweet November release stamps and C.C. Designs dies.

My card features "Luna" from the Pumpkin Fun set. I created a night scene by adding crescent moon on which I hung a tag shaped sentiment. The tiny bats were cut using the August Bats Cutters. The paper is last year's My Mind's Eye and of course it seemed appropriate to use the sheet with the owl. A strip of corrugated cardstock for a bit of texture and jewel stars provided the finishing touches.

Products: Sweet November stamp, C.C. Designs Cutters, AmyR Sentiment stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, Ki Memories jewels, Copic Markers
Copics: Owl-W1, W2, W5, E40, E41, E42, YG0000, YG91, YG93, E51, E55;  Jack O'Lantern- E97, E99, E07, Y13, Y17, Y35

Thank you so much for stopping by. Pop on over to the All That Scraps blog for more review projects.

Birthday Bash Blog Hop

It is Miss Christine’s birthday and we are having a party with a blog hop just for her. If you came here from AmyR’s blog you are in the right place. If you didn’t you may start at the beginning which is at the All That Scraps blog.

Christine. the owner of All That Scraps, has been a busy, busy woman. It's hard enough to move to a new house but add to that a business too and you have someone who certainly deserves a birthday party!
...or a drink
...or chocolate
...or a nap
...or all of the above!
For my birthday card to Christine, I chose Swiss Lulu Big Heart. I've had this little girl since my ATS Challenge Team days and unfortunately never used her. Yikes! So many great stamps, so little time! After coloring up this cutie, I used my craft knife to cut the straps for the heart. I then used the Big Heart Embossing Cutters to cut a patterned paper heart. I placed it in the image heart center and then wrapped the straps over it and glued down as well, using pearls for the buttons. I used the Big Heart Cutters once again to create a cluster of elements, stamping the sentiment onto the smallest heart shape. The paper is all from the the new My Mind's Eye Sweetest Things Honey 6x6 pad. One of the buttons and the strip across the image came from the matching Wood and Chipboard Buttons set.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp and Cutters, My Mind's Eye dp and cardstock stickers, Kaisercraft pearsls, PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-YR20, YR31, YR23; Heart-R81, R83, R85, W00, E81; Dress-Y13, Y15, Y17; Shoes-W1, W2, W5

Happy Birthday Christine!  To continue this party please hop on over to Sheri's blog.

You are My Sunshine

Hi there. It's been several weeks since I had a chance to play with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC85) challenge so I wanted to be sure to get this one in before the deadline. I haven't stamped up this Claire Keay Enjoy Every Moment image in while. After coloring with Copics I cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I combined it with the Pebbles Sunny Side paper, using one of the sentiments from the paper rather than stamping it. A butterfly, some bling, ribbon and rolled roses provided the finishing touches.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp and Die-namics, Pebbles dp, Kaisercraft jewels, PTI twill ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-E51, E53, E55; Clothing-BG0000, BG10, BG11, RV00, RV11, R83, Y21, Y35, Y38

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Merry Christmas

Today's card features an image which was suppose to go on another card but after coloring I realized that the scarf was too "pink" for the paper I was using. I didn't want it to go to waste so I went in search of some paper and found the Crate Paper Snow Day pad in my stash. The image is from The Cat's Pajamas You Suit Me set. It wasn't a Christmas set so I used a sentiment from A Beary Good Year. I generally followed this week's iSpy Sketch (ISSC29) for the layout.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Stamp and CutUps, Crate Paper dp, PTI buttons and twill ribbon, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, E01, E11, R20; Hair-YR30, YR31, E53; Clothing-W00, E81, R83, R56, R59; ; Cup/Vapor-BG70, BG0000, BG13, R81, R83, E40, E41

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Because of the Brave

I'm back with another "any hero" card for Operation Write Home, using one of the new My Mind's Eye pads, Summer Splash. I am trying to cut down on my paper buying but resistance is futile when new MME is involved! After stamping the sentiment from the Verve American Hero set I cut and matted it with Lifestyle Crafts Nesting dies. I followed this week's Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO254) for the layout.

Products: Verve stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI button and Impression Plate, May Arts ribbon, Ki Memories jewel, Kaisercraft pearls, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Dies, Stampin' Up ink

I hope all is well with you. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Winter Mittens

Good morning. Today's card features a sketch from the Verve Anniversary Celebration going on over at Splitcoast Stampers (VSAVS12C) I cracked open yet another new My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad, Winter Wonderland and combined it with one of the smaller Verve sets, Winter Mittens. I cut and matted the image with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Stitching, twill ribbon, buttons, mini brads and a matching Winter Wonderland layered sticker provided the finishing touches.

Copics: B0000, B000, BG10, YG0000, YG03, W00, E81

Just Saying Hello (TCP Tuesday 223)

Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES223) which is a color challenge of Rose, Sunshine and Teal selected by our hostess, Lori.

I chose to work with Warm Fuzzies. I haven't stamped it in a while so it was good to break it out for these fun set of colors. I generally followed the August Sketch For You to Try for the layout. I used a couple of the TCP CutUps, the Flower Buttons cut from felt and the sentiment was stamped on to the fishtail banner from the Easy Rosettes set.

Happy 4th Birthday

I have a simple gift tag to show you today. My granddaughter's birthday party was Sunday and this was the tag I attached to her gifts. And yes, she loves dinosaurs! I added some girly touches with the colors and pearls. The image is a digital one from Pink Cat Studios.

Here is the whole package.

So today is actually Clara's fourth birthday. Here is a picture from her party on Sunday. Sorry about the quality but I was having to jockey for position with several photographers!

Products: Pink Cat Studio (digital) stamp, Kaisercraft pearls, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: YG01, YG23, YG03, R81, R83, R85, Y11, Y13, Y15, W00, E81
