STAMPtember 2022 {Simon Says Stamp and Picket Fence Studios}

Hello fellow stampers. I am excited to be playing along with the great people over at Simon Says Stamp for their annual STAMPtember. The collaboration of the day is with Picket Fence Studios! The STAMPtember sets are a limited edition and once they are gone, they are gone!

I stamped the sweet reindeer image from the Trimming the Tree set, fussy cut out and colored with Copic markers. To prepared the background I partially blended Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze Velvet and Lime Zinnia Paper Glaze over the Slim Line Winter Rings Stencil using a spatula. After removing the stencil I quickly placed pieces from the Dancing Reindeer Embellishments jar onto the wet mix. After the background dried, I added a few more embellishments and a small strip of metallic cardstock. The sentiment from the set was stamped with Versamark and white heat embossed onto a red cardstock piece. Both the sentiment and stamped image were attached with foam dimensionals.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and stencil, PTI cs, PFS Paper Glaze and Sequin Mix, Altenew and Versamark ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Girl-E000, E0o, E11, R02, R22, R24, R27, YG00, YG01, YG03; Reindeer-E40, E41, E42 E44, E81

Merry Christmas

It's Fri-Yay! I am hoping for a weekend of relaxation, college football and a bit of crafting.

The main image piece of this card has been stamped a long time. Since 2017 to be exact! I know that because I looked back on my blog here where I used the same set but decided on different colors. The stamp set is Simon Says Christmas Graphic and is apparently retired as I could not find it on their site. All the sequins had fallen off so I replaced them and then colored up this sweet reindeer from the Mama Elephant Little Reindeer Agenda set which was cut out using the matching dies. After coloring with Copic Markers, I attached to the stamped piece using foam dimensionals. I attached the entire piece with a layer of craft foam to a background panel which was completed by blending mowed lawn distress ink over the Pinkfresh Studio Slim Diamond Plaid Layering Stencil

Products: Simon Says stamps, PTI cs, Doodlebug sequins, Pinkfresh Studio stencil, Simon Says die, Alltenew, Ranger Distress, Tsukineko Delicata and PTI ink
Reindeer-W00, W1, W2, E40, E42, E44, R20; YG03

I am submitting this to the September CAS Christmas Card Challenge

It looks like I need to color up a few more tiny reindeer, doesn't it? Thanks for sharing your Fri-YAY with me!

Hello Pumpkin

I have been a bit spendy lately with my crafty supplies yet have barely had the time to touch them. I am trying to get a few of them out of the new box in between design team assignments. I am entering today's card in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge which is Fall/Halloween photo inspired.

We don't get much of an autumn around here but that doesn't mean I don't like to make fall themed cards. I couldn't resist the Hello Pumpkin set which is a Neat and Tangled and Simon Says collaboration. I first prepared the background by using Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade distress oxides ink onto a watercolor rectangle. I loosely added water with a wet brush and then cut it with a wonky stitched rectangular die after it dried. I stamped the various images onto Neenah card stock, cut out with the matching dies and then colored with Copic Markers. I stamped the candied apple image onto Copics X Press It and after coloring I fussy cut the apple portion out. I stamped the image directly onto the background again so I would not have to fussy cut out the stick. After stamping the sentiment,  I attached the images using a combo of glue and foam tape for dimension.

Products: Neat and Tangled/Simon Says stamps and dies, Ranger, Neenah and PTI cs, MFT, Simon Says and Ranger Distress Oxide ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bear-E31, E33, E34, W00, E81, R11; Mouse-C00, C1, C3, R11; Scarves-B0000, B000, B01, B05, G21, G24; Pumpkin-E97, E99, E15; Stump-E40, E41, E44, W2, E33; Mushroom-R00, R01, R05, W00, E81; Apple-R20, R22, R24, E21,E23

Happy Fall Y'all!

Christ is Born (#christmasinjuly2017 and Faith Friday)

Summer is a wonderful time of the year but then again so is Christmas so I am doing a Christmas in July series. My goal is to make at least 20 cards this month but I am not going to stress over the goal. The point is to get a jump start on my Christmas cards while enjoying the process. See below on how to participate too.

After stamping all the images and sentment from the  Simons Says Nativity set directly onto the top fold card base,  I colored with Copic markers, using a gelly roll pen on the star for a bit of sparkle. I masked off the stable with sticky notes tape and also the Holy couple and repeated the sentiment inside the stable using soft stone ink. It is hard to see in the above photograph so here is a close up.

I am happy to say that this card meets my goal of 20 for the month! Honestly, I wasn't sure I could do it. However, I have at least one more for Monday which is the last day of the month. I am entering this in the Simon Says Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.

Products: Simon Says stamps, PTI cs, Sakura Gelly Roll pen, MFT and PTI ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E00, E01, E11; Clothing-W00, E81, B41, B95, B97, C1, C3, C5; Stable-W1, W2, W5

Merry & Bright (#christmasinjuly2017)

Summer is a wonderful time of the year but then again so is Christmas so I am doing a Christmas in July series. My goal is to make at least 20 cards this month but I am not going to stress over the goal. The point is to get a jump start on my Christmas cards while enjoying the process. See below on how to participate too.

I stamped a border twice in pure poppy ink directly across the card base using a stamp from the Simon Says Holiday Borders set. I then stamped a couple of trees from the Merry Trees using green parakeet and black ink. I stamped the circle, sentiment and stars onto a circle panel using pure poppy and black ink and attached to the card front with a layer of craft foam. After stamping another tree from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day with green parakeet ink, I cut out with the matching die and attached to the sentiment circle. I am entering this in the Simon Says Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.

Products: Simon Says stamps, Lawn Fawn stamp and die, PTI cs, MFT die, Simon Says and PTI ink

Merry Christmas (#christmasinjuly2017)

Summer is a wonderful time of the year but then again so is Christmas so I am doing a Christmas in July series. My goal is to make at least 20 cards this month but I am not going to stress over the goal. The point is to get a jump start on my Christmas cards while enjoying the process. See below on how to participate too.

I stamped the tree frame background from the Simon Says Christmas Graphic set using shimmery silver ink onto a stitched rectangle and then stamped inside the frame with the matching tree image using green parakeet ink. The sentiment was stamped with vermillon ink. The stamped piece was attached to a patterned paper background using a layer of foam tape. A scattering of sequins on the tree and silver metallic cording wrapped around the front and tied in a bow provided the finishing touches. This is one of those cards that I have to say looks prettier in real life as you can't see the pretty shimmer of the silver ink.

Peace Love Joy (#christmasinjuly2017)

Summer is a wonderful time of the year but then again so is Christmas so I am doing a Christmas in July series. My goal is to make at least 20 cards this month but I am not going to stress over the goal. The point is to get a jump start on my Christmas cards while enjoying the process. See below on how to participate too.

I stamped three different Christmas trees in black, hawaiian shores and green parakeet using images from Simon Says Christmas Graphic and Gifts of Love sets. After adding the graphic tree container to all the trees, I then colored one of them with Copic markers. The sentiment came from the Papertrey Ink Holiday Cheer (retired) set. After attaching to the card base, I wrapped ribbon around the edge and tied in a small bow.

Easter is On It's Way

Easter is practically here but can I admit that I am not happy when it lands in March? I can never seem to get prepared for it and this time is no exception. We've just been so busy with the house, a granddaughter's March birthday, church activities that it has been hard finding time to create. I usually do simple Easter baskets for my two granddaughters and goody bags for grand nieces and nephews for our Easter egg hunt at my aunt's farmhouse. Plus I like to color real eggs although I do have some plastic ones for back up. So far I have none of that done!

I also haven't completed the normal amount of Easter cards so I whipped up two simple ones yesterday.

First up, is a more masculine one. It's hard to see in my photograph but the cross was cut from gold mirrored cardstock. I just didn't take the time to get the camera in the right angle to see the metallic before I popped it in the mail. The cross was cut using a die from the Simon Says Crosses set and was attached to a white textured cardstock circle and topped with a Prima sticker from my stash. The circle was attached to a patterned paper wonky stitched rectangle with a layer of craft foam. The sentiment from the Simon Says Rejoice set was stamped directly onto the patterned paper using chocolate brown ink.

Products: Simon Says stamp and die, PTI dp and cs, Bazzill and Michael's cs, Prima sticker,  MFT dies and ink

I managed to capture some of the gold of the cross with this one. This time I used a die from the Paper Smooches Crosses set, placed on a wonky stitched circle using foam tape. The background was cut from textured cardstock and I embossed a larger wonky stitched circle and then added a strip of patterned paper. The sentiment from the Taylored Expressions He is Risen set was stamped directly onto the cardstock background. The cross/circle was attached with a layer of craft foam for more dimension.

Products: Taylored Expressions stamp, Bazzill, Michael's and PTI cs, MFT and Paper Smooches dies, Simon Says ink

I usually do the bunnies and chicks designs for the little ones but I like to make the more meaningful ones for the adults on my mailing list.

We are Blessed by His Love

Although I create a mix of both faith based and secular type Christmas cards I am well aware that Jesus is the reason for the season. Today's card is most definitely about the Nativity.

Back in October for The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge, I colored up the holy couple from the Simons Says Nativity set cutting the image out with the matching die from the Holy Couple and Barn set. While I had everything out I went ahead and cut out the stable (no it's not a barn even though that is how the die set was name) and the back of the stable from patterned paper and the star from gold mirrored cardstock. It's been kitted up ever since and I thought it was time to get it onto a card. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the linen cardstock background with Dark Chocolate ink and then I attached the images using craft foam on the stable and holy couple. I added the star in the East as well as a few sequins to finish it up.

Products: Simon Says stamps and dies, Carta Bella dp and My Mind's Eye dp, Recollections mirrored cs, Verve sequins, Memento and Simon Says inks, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E13; Clothing-W00, E81, E84, E87, BG70, BG10, BG72, BG75

As always, thank you for stopping by.

The Pace of Nature

Today's card is for the current Color Throwdown (CTD359) challenge with colors of Orange, Light Blue, Dark Blue and Kraft.

I broke out another new set of stamps and dies, stamping two of the leaves from the Simon Says One with Nature and then cut out with the matching dies from the Nature set. I also stamped the small leaf and used the matching die to create a cut out in the textured cardstock background panel which was cut with a Lil Inker Designs stitched mat and also a layer of craft foam. After all images were colored with Copic Markers, I assembled onto the background panel attaching the largest leaf with craft foam. The smallest leaf image was slipped underneath the craft foam and background layers. The sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the panel with Blueberry ink.

Products: Simon Says stamps and dies, Basic Grey dp, PTI and Bazzill cs, Lil Inker Designs die, MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, YR0000, YR01, YR14, B0000, B91, B93, B95, B97, B99

And since I created this card with some never before used stamps and dies, I am entering this in Darnell's famous NBUS challenge (#5).

The Best Gift

I am interrupting my Easter card making with a Christmas one. It's been forever since I've had a chance to play in the Merry Monday Challenge but I knew that I had the perfect die for it. Especially since it is a die that has not ever been used.

I cut a rectangle from using a My Favorite Things Pierced die and then created a cut out with the Simon Says Pile of Gifts die. I added a small tag stamped with a sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Peeking set. I fussy cut out and added a twine bow. I stamped the other sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Your Gift set directly onto the rectangle. The panel was attached to the background with dimensional tape after I slipped a piece of red foil underneath first.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Sparkle and Shine

I have my first Christmas card of 2015 for you today. I intend making them all year around and skipping my Christmas in July. Plus frankly I had quite a few Christmas themed products in my new box and I needed to use them. Two of my goals this year are to use my stuff and also to participate in more challenges. Today's card is for the Merry Monday 140 Challenge to include snowflakes.

I stamped the two images from the Simon Says Sparkle and Shine set with Versamark Ink onto Sea Glass cardstock circle and then heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. I placed it in a circle cut out from white textured cardstock, layered onto Soft Stone cardstock. I added a snowflake cut from gold glittery cardstock cut with the Simon Says Kate Snowflake die and a smattering of gold sequins for a clean and simple card.

Products: Simon Says stamp, Bazzill and PTI cs, Recollections glitter cs, Simon Says cs and sequins, Ranger Embossing Powder, Simon Says and MFT dies, Versamark ink

Enjoy what is left of the weekend. I think a nap is in my future today.

P.S. Well darn, went to link this to the MM challenge and found out I had missed the deadline.

You are My Sunshine

Today's tag/card is for the current Tag You're It! Challenge (#4).

I started out my cutting the tag from watercolor paper using the new Reverse Confetti Tag Me, Too die set. I lightly color washed it with yellow water color and then added a patterned paper strip at the bottom. I did the inlaid die cut technique on the tag with the word sunshine from the Simon Says Sun & Sunshine die set. I also cut the sawtooth edged piece from the same die set and stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Bring the Sunshine using Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink onto it. After assembling all the pieces of the tag, I tied ribbon through the tag hole and added a trio of pearls on the scallops. I attached the tag to the background piece keeping the layout simple. All the patterned paper came from the Fancy Pants Beloved pad.

Products: Simon Says stamp and dies, Fancy Pants dp, PTI and Stampin' Up card stock, May Arts ribbon, Basic Grey pearls, Reverse Confetti dies, Memento Luxe ink, Loew-Cornell Water Colors

2014 Christmas in July #2

First of all, Happy Birthday America!

I am here with my second Christmas in July card. I cheated on this one as I already had everything stamped and colored. I think I started this for a challenge but didn't get it put together in time so it's been kitted up for a while. All I had to do was figure out a background color and add embellishments.

I stamped the largest tree from the Simon Says Merry Trees set with Memento Olive Grove ink. I masked it off and then stamped the second tree with Memento Rich Cocoa and the third one plus the stars with Delicata GoldenGlitz ink. I then cut the image out with a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mat.

I stamped Purple Onion Designs Icicle onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with the Copics listed below and then fussy cut out. Icicle is one of Stacey Yacula's designs from last year. I bought several of them somewhat late in the Christmas season so I didn't get a card with him last year. After I attached the stamped panel to the background paper, I secured Icicle to the panel with dimensional dots for a clean and simple masculine card. A button at the top, a couple of Doodlebug Sequins and a snowflake cut with the Simon Says Snowflake Cluster secured with a mini brad finished it up.The solid background paper came from the Echo Park Season's Greetings pad.

Yay, I used two stamps from my not yet used box as well as one die. I hope my fellow Americans are having a fun and safe holiday.

Copics: Bear-W00, E81, E50, E51, E53; Scarf/Knit Cap-E21, E23, E25, E27, YG91, YG93, YG95

2014 Christmas in July #1

****This is my second post for today. Please scroll down to see C.C. Designs preview post.****

I managed to skip Christmas in July last year so I think it's time to return to it. Here is the plan this year:
  1. I really want this to be about creativity so I am not setting a goal number of cards to complete. Just having fun and not stressing over a number.
  2. I am going to dig into my not-yet-used Christmas themed stamps as well as my way-too-much stash.
  3. I don't normally link to products that are not design team or company specific challenge related but I will this time around. Since I don't do videos this is my small way of sharing the process.
  4. This won't be an all Christmas month as I will continue my design team work as well as entering other challenges.

Now on to my first CIJ card. I created this one for the Festive Friday #34 Challenge. I cut the tree pieces from patterned paper and the star from Recollections Glitter cardstock using the Simon Says Layered Tree die set. I assembled it onto a patterned paper panel cut with a piece from the Lil Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles. I "decorated" the tree with matted Doodlebug sequins topped with jewels. The star was attached with dimensional dots. The background panel was cut from Bazzill Swiss Dot (Salt) cardstock which has been in my stash for a long time. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Holiday Hellos set onto a piece cut with the C.C. Designs Scrolling Banners Cutters  using Stampin' Up Strawberry Slush ink. I completed the card with PTI and MFT buttons finished with Linen Thread, then added a jewel by each.  All the patterned paper came from the Carta Bella Merry & Bright pad. I recently re-purchased this pad. I usually struggle to use a paper pad up but I only had a few sheets left of this one. I loved it so much that I went on a cyber search to see if anyone still had it in stock and found it at Simon Says.

Products: Simon Says Stamp and Die, Carta Bella dp, Bazzill cs, PTI cs and buttons, MFT button, Doodlebug sequins,  Lil Inker Designs die, Stampin' Up ink

I hope you will will visit throughout the month to see how I'm doing with the Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by today.

Rejoice

I really enjoy the challenges at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog so I am especially happy to be guest designing for them for the second time.

This week's #104 challenge is to use the colors slate, kraft, white or cream. I decided to use a stamp from the Papertrey Ink Star of Wonder set, stamping the image with My Favorite Things Kraft ink and then cutting out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I layered onto a dark gray piece cut with the Verve Classy Label die which was matted with kraft cardstock. The label was anchored with two mini brads and a smattering of jewels and flat back mini sequins. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Holiday Borders with Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink at the bottom for a clean and simple, mail friendly and faith based card.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamp and cs, Simon Says stamp, Bazzill cs, Kelly Purkey sequins, Basic Gray jewels, Verve die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, My Favorite Things and Memento Luxe inks

Peace, Love

The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks begin Tuesday but in the meantime I have a Christmas card for the Festive Friday (#27) challenge.

I started out by cutting the tag using a Papertrey Ink die in Recollections charcoal gray cardstock. Unfortunately my photo makes it look black instead though! I stamped one of the borders from the Simon Says Holiday Borders  in Stampin' Up white ink on the bottom of the tag, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the snowflake from Recollections Off White sparkly cardstock using the Simon Says Kate Snowflake die centering with a clear jewel. After attaching the tag to a plain white background, I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Tinsel 'N Trim set in Memento Luxe Grey Flannel ink. A few more matted clear jewels finished it up for a clean and simple Christmas card.

Products: Simons Says stamp and die, Reverse Confetti stamp, Recollections and PTI cs, Hemptique cord, Basic Grey jewels, Stampin' Up and Memento Luxe ink

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Getting Back into the Groove

I've had a tough time getting back in the swing of things creatively speaking. I craft in my dining room so it was necessary to put everything away during the holidays. It's been difficult getting everything back out especially since I stuffed things in every out of sight nook and cranny I could! I keep finding things I am missing which is not conducive to getting anything done.

Here I am with a Christmas card even though, like most of you, I am pretty glad to see it over and done. But, I did promise myself that I would get more completed throughout the year so I'm not so overwhelmed in December like I was this year. Plus frankly, I really didn't get to use some of new goodies I purchased during the season. This week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#90)  to use ribbon or twine and Simons Says Wednesday Challenge (ice inspiration) provided the perfect excuse to get started.

If you remember from some of my December cards I fell in love with the American Crafts Silver Glitter paper and used it a lot. I didn't see the gold version until I went into the local Paper Source. I snatched it up and also bought a spool of their gold ribbon which matched it perfectly. I don't normally buy much there as everything is usually overpriced in my opinion. I guess the smell of gold glittery paper went to my head!

I cut the gold panel using The Cat's Pajamas Holiday Toppers CutUps for the snowflake border at the bottom and then tied the bow around it. I cut the snowflake from an off white glittery paper that I found at Michaels using the Simon Says Eliza Snowflake. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Holiday Hellos set with Delicata Golden Glitz ink onto a piece from the Reverse Confetti Tag Me dies. A smattering of gold and white sequins provided the finishing touch. My photograph gave the gold paper a brassy look that is not there in real life. It's a really pretty spun gold.

Products: Simon Says stamp and die, American Crafts Glitter paper, Paper Source ribbon, Delicata ink, Darice sequins, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Reverse Confetti die

I promise things will pick up around here soon.

Winter Sparrows

Good morning. This is the last Christmas card for 2013 I have to show you. Hopefully, it's already reached it's destination thank goodness. I used lots of Lawn Fawn items including the Winter Sparrows stamp and dies. I used the Simon Says Layered Tree die to cut papers from the Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love pad topping it off with a star die cut from American Crafts silver glittery paper. Everything was placed against an embossed white background. The star and birds were attached using dimensional dots.

Products: Lawn Fawn stamp, dp and dies, Simon Says die, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers
Copics: R22, R24, R27, BG0000, BG01, BG10, W00, E81, N1, N3, N5, G40, G43, G46

I am off to get a bit more cleaning done and then I need to do some food prep for both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Merry Christmas everyone!
