Today I am featuring a card using images from the Whispering Pines collection.

I stamped Perfect Pines onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with an arch die and colored with Copic markers. I also stamped Doe & Hart, colored with Copics and fussy cut out, adding them to the snowy scene. A preprinted sentiment strip finished it up.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI and Concord & 9th cs, The Greetery die, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Deer-W00, E81, E30, E31, E33; Trees-YG61, YG63, YG67, YG91, YG93, YG95

While I had Doe & Hart out I decided to make a small tag also. After stamping the two deer, I masked Doe, then stamped the Little Pines image. After coloring the images I masked the pines and blended on tumbled glass distress ink and cut out with a small arch die. I added a tag topper and threaded ribbon and metallic twine through it and tied in a bow.

{The Cat's Pajamas} You've Been Good

I am sharing another card using a digital image from The Cat's Pajamas October release. Sketchy Santas was a physical product previously but is now available in digital form.

I resized the santa with tree image and snow flakes using Silhouette software and printed onto Copic friendly cardstock. These images in the set were quite small in the physical set so it was fun to make santa much larger not to mention easier to color. After cutting out the image piece with a circle die, I colored with Copic markers and added some random red dots to accompany the red snowflakes. The sentiment was with a stitched edge die and the image circle was attached using a layer of craft foam, then a few enamel dots were randomly placed.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas digital stamps, Lawn Fawn dp, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT die, Copic and Caliart Markers
Copics: Santa-E00, E02, E11, C00, C1, N2, N3, N5; Tree-G12, G14, G17, Y13, Y15, Y35, BG000, BG01, BG02
Caliart: Santa/Ornaments-R105, R107, R218

How are you coming along with your Christmas card making?

A Very Merry Christmas from Purple Onion Designs

Purple Onion Designs has a Christmas treat for you with three different collections by illustrators, Whispering Pines by Stacey Yacula,(@staceyyacula), Tofu & Friends-Season's Greetings by Pei (@chillezegraphy) and Winterwood by Holly Mabutas (@hollymubutas).

Today I am featuring a card using an image from the Tofu & Friends-Season's Greetings collection by Pei.

For this card I went monochromatic, coloring the Christmas Igloo image with a variety of purple hued markers, then fussy cut out. Before attaching the image piece to the wild wisteria background panel using layer of craft foam panel, I slipped a wintery cluster underneath. The sentiment from the Santa's Sentiments set released last year was stamped onto smoky shadow cardstock using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed. A few purple flat backed jewels added a bit of sparkle.

Today I am featuring a card using images from the Winterwood collection. Holly is the newest artist and she has illustrated a delightful mix of Christmas and winter images.

After stamping Benjamin (badger) and Finn (fox), I masked both and then stamped the Snowy Forest. All images were colored with a combo of Copic and Caliart markers. I masked the trees, then blended on tumbled glass and broken china distress ink to represent the sky. After adding a strip of patterned paper at the bottom, I cut out with a stitched edge die, then added a strip of cardstock for a border. The sentiment from the previously released Merriest City Sentiment set was stamp using cherry kisses ink, then attached with foam dimensionals.

Today I am featuring a card using images from the Whispering Pines collection.

The background was prepared by blending tumbled glass, broken china and salty ocean distress ink onto  the panel. I mixed some white acrylic paint and water, then tapped onto the background piece using a fan brush to emulate snow. I added a snow bank cut from white linen cardstock using a stitched edge die. For the image, I combined Frosty & Sweet Pea (snowman and mouse) and Murphy (squirrel) with the help of a bit of masking. I colored with a combo of Copic and Caliart markers and then fussy cut out. After stamping the sentiment from the previously released Merriest City Sentiment set using cherry kisses ink, I attached the image piece with foam dimensionals. BTW, the sentiment set has been marked down and has several really cute Christmas greetings.

{The Cat's Pajamas} Believe

I am sharing another card using a digital image from The Cat's Pajamas October release. So many cute holiday images to choose from, but I managed to narrow it down to the Believe set.

I printed the penguin santa and the chimney with the snow ladened roof line plus the sentiment onto Copic friendly cardstock using Silhouette software. After coloring with Copic and Caliart markers, I fussy cut out. I attached the roof piece onto a dark blue textured cardstock piece, then cut out with a stitched edge die. I mixed some white acrylic paint and water, then tapped onto the background piece as well as the penquin piece using a fan brush to emulate even more snow. I then added the "moon" and the penguin image which was attached using foam dimensionals.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas digital stamps, Bazzil cs, Copic and Caliart Markers
Copics: Penguin-YR30, YR31, R20; Santa Sack-G40, G43; Toys-YR21, YR24, RV10, R81; Gift Boxes-G00, G02, G07; BG000, BG01, BG02; Chimney- C1, T3, T5; Snow-BG0000, BG000

It's going to take some Christmas magic for this plump penguin to get down that chimney!

50 Completed and Donated

Today's three faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food, clothing and school supply boxes, etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used The Greetery Mighty Oak Botanicuts dies along with the sentiment from the Comforting Commands stamp and cut with the matching die adhered to a dark gray background.

Products: The Greetery stamps and dies, Simon Says cs, MFT die, PTI and Ranger Distress ink

I used the same die set on the second card adhered to a lighter gray background. The sentiment is from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set.

Products: The Greetery dies, Stamp Simply stamp, PTI and Simon Says cs, MFT die, Altenew ink

I found this tag in my card stash and in looking back on my blog discovered it was created in 2015 for a tag challenge. So that definitely gave me a much needed head start on this card. The background was created with a strip of patterned paper and an already blended paper pad. I just typed up the verse, cut out and then blended on antique linen distress ink.

Products: Kaisercraft stamp, Lawn Fawn and Reverse Confetti dies, MFT cs,  Sunny Studios and MFT dp, Michael's Mirrored Gold cs, Ranger ink

Due to the devastation of Hurricane Helene, Grace Klein has begun shipping truck loads of relief supplies to Tennessee and North Carolina. These are people who have lost everything, family, homes, pets and their sense of security and safety. GK specifically asked for faith based cards to share along with the donations given out to those who are suffering so much. So....that meant I really needed to gear up to finish my second group of 25. I took another look at my card stash and found 9 that I could easily alter with a bible verse sentiment. That got me to 47 cards in total and these 3 represent #48, #49 and #50 of my second set of 25.

I know these photos aren't the best but I had to photograph during a particularly gloomy day. Both sets a of 25 are probably on their way to either Tennessee or North Carolina.

I am submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668,

and also to the October Four Seasons Challenge.

Sing to the Lord

Today's faith based card was created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food boxes, clothing etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used chocolate brown ink to stamp the Papertrey Ink Year of Psalms February (retired) sentiment onto pool party cardstock cut with the Paper Trey Ink Charming Tags 1. The kraft cardstock and patterned paper background was cut using a stitched edge die and after attaching the sentiment tag I stamped a couple of musical notes from the same Year of Psalms set using the same chocolate brown ink. Lastly I used the Feathered Friends 2 die set to cut from various cardstock in my scraps bag attaching to the card front using foam dimensionals.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamps and die, PTI dp and cs, SU cs, Lil Inker Designs die, MFT and Ranger Distress ink

This cards represents card #38 and is a part of my second bundle of 25.

{The Cat's Pajamas} Welcome Back Big Bear

The Cat's Pajamas October release of digital products is available now. Back in the day one of my very favorite TCP sets was Big Bear. It broke my stampy heart when it was retired. So....I was thrilled when Alma brought it back for the latest digital release.

Using Silhouette software, I printed Big Bear, the signpost from the Beary Christmas set upon which I placed the words from Crossroads Gnome set onto Copic friendly cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. Since my cutting machine is still under the weather I chose to fussy cut out the two images. For the background, I created a snow bank using an older die and embossed a sno cone cardstock panel with an embossing folder. The images were attached to the main panel using foam dots then a few snowflakes anchored with a sparkly gemstone finished it up.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas digital stamps, Bazzill and MFT cs, Darice embossing folder, Spellbinders gems, Lawn Fawn dies, Copic Markers
Copics: Bear-W00, E81, N2,N3,N5, N7; Signpost- W00, E81, Y02, Y15, Y17, R20G2, R24, R27, BG01, BG02, BG04

A Fall Feeling

Today's faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

I stamped the leaf cluster from the Spellbinders Fall Thoughtfulness set (Sep23 Clear Stamp & Die club) onto Copic friendly cardstock. I cut out with the matching die, then trimmed off the string portion as I wanted to add a 3d version. I attached the stamped piece with layer of craft foam onto a card stock piece cut with the largest die from the Papertrey Ink Reflections:September set. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set was stamped directly onto the backgroundpanel using chocolate brown ink.

Products: Spellbinders stamp and die, Simply Said stamp, Hemptique cord, Papertrey Ink and Lil Inker Designs dies, Altenew and MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: E07, E08, E09, E30, E31, E33, E35, YR01, YR02, YR21,YR23, YR27, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y38, G40, G43, G46, V15

In keeping with my usual, I made another card using the same stamps and dies while they were on my craft table, this time using the pumpkin cluster image. I wanted a more muted color scheme as I know so many of my cards lean toward the feminine side. The sentiment is from the Psalm Reflections: August Mini set stamped with chococolate brown ink.

Products: Spellbinders stamps and dies, PTI stamps and dies, PTI cs, Lil Inker Designs die, Altenew and MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Pumpkin- YR01, YR14, YR21, YR23, YR24, E71; Leaves-G40, G43, G46, E33, E35, E37

I have to say, I found these images hard to color, especially the first one. I made a lot more mistakes than I usually do.

These cards represent #36-37 and are part of my second bundle of 25.

I am submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668

and also to the October Four Seasons Challenge.

A Little Pink A Little Blue

Today's faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

The Color Hues Challenge #95 gave me the perfect excuse to break open the pinks and blues from the last The Stamp Market color release. I really needed something to take my mind off things, so I spend the afternoon in a pink and blue crafty haze.

I used the cerulean, soft berry, tea berry and white cardstock combined with the Papertrey Ink Delightful Brackets die. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set was stamped using cerulean ink. I used dies from the Penny Black Flower Family set to cut from tea berry and soft berry cardstock adding white flat back pearls for the centers.

After cutting out the bracket die for the previous card I thought it resulted in a great frame so I attached it to a powder blue panel.  I used the small die from the same set to stamp the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement using cerulean ink. A trio of flowers with stems trimmed off were cut from tea berry cardstock to anchor the sentiment piece.

For the last card, after cutting the three flowers from white cardstock, I attached to a cerulean cardstock panel. I inked the centers using tea berry and soft berry ink and added pink flat back pearls. The sentiment from the set was stamped using tea berry ink onto a small piece cut with the smallest die from The Greetery Nordic Circles set and attached with foam dimensionals.

These cards represent #33-35 and are part of my second bundle of 25.

I am also submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668

A Cup of Cheer

Todays Christmas card was created for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #33 to feature candy and/or cookies.

I used the Honey Bee Stamps Mugs & Kisses dies to cut the cups from patterned paper and the rest of objects from cardstock scraps. After that it was easy to assemble the coffee cups and figuring out to arrange all the items on the stitched edge linen cardstock panel. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Hug in a Mug directly onto the panel and the other onto a white cardstock scrap which was then cut out with the matching die (both stamped with gala red ink). After attaching all to the card front I added clay "chocolate sprinkles" to one up and colorful clay candy to the second one.

Products: Honey Bee Stamps and Dies, Sunny Studios dp, PTI cs, The Greetery clay pieces,Lil Inker Designs die, Wplus9 ink

Nothing like waiting to the last minute to submit to a challenge!

{The Cat's Pajamas} Peace, Joy and Penguins

Some of my favorite TCP characters are the penguins. Even though they have been around over 20 years they have such a modern, graphic look to them. The Peace, Joy and Penguins digital stamp was a physical stamp years ago (2013 actually). And although I loved it then I like the the digital version as I can resize it to fit my needs.

Using Silhouette software, I resized the penguins and printed onto Copic friendly cardstock along with the snowflakes from the Penguin Sleigh digital set. I then cut out with a modern oval die. After coloring with Copic markers, I attached to a sno cone stitched cardstock piece that was embossed with an older Darice embossing folder. The mini sentiment came from a set that happened to be laying on my worktable. A few enamel dots provided a bit more texture.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Digital Stamps, MFT cs, Doodlebug enamel dots. Darice embossing folder, Copic Markers
Copics: Penguins-W00, E81, YR30, YR31; Scarf, Hat, Presents, Candy-YG01, YG25, YG17, RV10, R81, R83, W00, E81; Shadows-BG000

Yay, another Christmas card completed!

{The Cat's Pajamas} Ho Ho Ho

Hello all. Have you started on your Christmas cards? I usually make them throughout the year so I am not scrambling to finish in November and December. This year I am way behind and this card represents Christmas card #5. I need to get busy but life events keep getting in my way.

I am intrigued with monochromatic cards so I decided to give it a try with lots of Christmas red. I combined the Santa Gnomie and toy sack digital images, resized and then printed onto Copic friendly cardstock using Silhouette Software. I colored the image with Copic and Caliart markers and then fussy cut out. For the sentiment I stamped the physical version of the Big Holiday Words set using Versamark ink onto a red cardstock panel, then clear heat embossed . The digital version of the sentiments are found here. The image was attached using foam dimensionals and then the panel to the red card base with a layer of craft foam. A trio red sequins added a bit of sparkle.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas digital stamp, The Stamp Market cs, Doodlebug sequins, Ranger Embossing Powder, Versamark ink
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E02; Beard-C1; Clothing/Toy Sack-R21, R24, R27, W00, W1; Gloves/Boots-N2, N5, N7

Do you like the monochromatic look?

Cards for Bulgaria

This is the third year in a row that our church has partnered with Mission Bulgaria to provide Christmas shoe boxes for the Roma children in Bulgaria. What is different from the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes (which is also a very fine organization) is that their hygiene/school needs are provided separately so our boxes can be filled with the fun stuff like toys and candy. And the best part, is that we have a specific child to provide for complete with their name and a picture. One photo is attached to the shoebox top and one is to keep so that we may pray for them throughout the year. This mission sends around 3000 boxes and our church usually does about 300 of them. Click here for more info.

I used some older products including a ready made PTI card front and the Reverse Confetti  (no longer in business) Joyous Holiday stamp and die set for the angel and an Illustrated Faith (retired) set for the nativity. Inside is a message from us that I typed in English and then used Google Translate to translate into Bulgarian. The sentiments (Christmas Blessings) were also translated and printed onto cardstock and cut out with an older Paper Smooches die.

For Magdalena, age 7:

For Petar, age 11:

Products: Reverse Confetti stamp and die, Illustrated Faith stamp, PTI card panels and cs, MFT, Concord & 9th cs and Michael's metalllic cs, MFT dies, Altenew and Delicata ink, Copic Markers
Copics for Angel: Skin-E00, E02, E11, R21; Hair- N2, N3, N5 N7; Horn/Halo-Y21, Y23, Y26; Dress-W00, E81, BG11; Wings-BG10, BG70
Copics for Nativity: Skin-E02, E11, E21, E15; Clothing-BG10, BG11, BG23, YG91, YG93, YG95; Baby Jesus-E00, E02, W00, E81; Manger-E30, E33

Both had to be done very quickly as I was running out of time. Due to lengthy overseas shipping all boxes are mass shipped in September in order to make it for Christmas.

Fall Mums

Today's faith based card was created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally.

This project has had a major stoppage on my part. I won't bore you with what all has happened to us in the past month but suffice to say there has been very little time to craft.

There is a bit of fall here in Alabama. September is usually one of our hottest months so it has been a nice weather break. I love fall mums so I used The Greetery Sunflower BotaniCuts to create mine. I cut the flower from honey nut cardstock for the flower then blended on rusty hinge distress ink before assembling the layers. The leaves and veins were cut from two different colors of green cardstock both of which were in my scraps bag. I blended on forest moss distress ink on the leaves. The large sentiment from the Comforting Commands set  stamped in mowed lawn distress ink and then cut out with the matching die and the smaller one with rusty hinge cut with a strip die. Before attaching the images and sentiments I partially blended antique linen onto a stitched linen cardstock.

While my supplies were out I made a second card with another mum as the center piece and using all the same colors. That's the only way I am going to get this many cards completed before the end of the year. I included an older stamp and die
Papertrey Ink Inspired:Lord for the sentiment.

Products: The Greetery stamp and dies, PTI stamp, die and cs, Ranger Distress Ink

These cards represent card #31 and #32 of my second bundle of 25.

I am submitting the first card to the Color Hues (#94) Challenge - Rust & Green

And the second card to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #665-666 and also to the Freshly Made Sketches #653
