Let's Fa La La {Purple Onion Designs}

I am trying to do some of the year around Christmas challenges on a regular basis. Todays card features an image illustrated by @staceyyacula for Purple Onion Designs

I used a die from the Picket Fence Studios Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Rectangle die set to cut  from Copic friendly cardstock, then cut out a circle at the top along with a layer of craft foam to form the basis for a shaker. I then stamped Jolly (snowman), colored with Copic, masked the image and blended tumbled glass distress ink over the Sugar Peas Designs Geo Snowflake Stencil. The sentiment from the Holiday Blurbs I set was stamped with gala red ink. The shaker was filled with pieces from the Picket Fence Studios Jingle Bells Rock Sequin Mix then covered with a piece of acetate and a created by stacking two different sizes of circle dies together.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI and SU cs, Picket Fence Studios sequins and die, Picket Fence Studio and WPlus9 ink, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, R20, E21, E23, E25, YR00, YR01, YR02, G000, G12, G25, T1, T2, T7

Love * Always {The Cat's Pajamas}

I am back with another love/Valentine's day card. Love is always in season, right?

I am having some issues with my Cameo machine so today's card is a hybrid, meaning that I combined both digital and physical products. I have always loved this Sprinkle image from the Had to Be Mew so I printed the digital image onto Copic friendly cardstock. After coloring with Copic markers, I fussy cut out. For the background, the big heart from the Wonky Hearts Cutable was cut from patterned paper using my Cameo. That was when a problem repeated itself from the last time I used the machine so I knew my digital cutting was over. I stamped postal border image onto a linen cardstock piece using gala red ink and then attached the big heart with liquid glue. I combined images and sentiments from the Love Letter Digi set, printed out then cut with the physical die.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, dies and Cutables, Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, WPlus9 ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Cat-G12, G14, R02; Heart-R30, R32, R35; Hat-W00, E81, R30, R32, R35

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Warm & Cozy {Purple Onion Designs}

I am off to my usual slow January start but I promise things will pick up soon. I appreciate my readers hanging in there with me.

After stamping the Purple Onion Designs Rory & Noelle (Winter Mouse and Squirrel) image onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers then fussy cut out. For the background I used a die from the Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Die Cutting System to create the cut out. To fill the cut out I blended blueberry sky ink, then stamped the Dusting of Snow image twice using Versamark ink so I could white heat emboss. I added more snow by splattering watered down white acrylic paint on the background and also on the animal image. The sentiment from the Essential Holiday Greetings set was stamped directly onto the panel using cherry kisses ink. The image was attached using foam dimensionals. This is my first Christmas card for the year and my plan is to make these throughout the year.

Products: Purple Onion Designs stamps, PTI cs, Picket Fence Studios die, Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid, The Stamp Market, PTI and Versamark ink
Copics: Mouse-C00, C1, C3, C5, W00, E81, R00, R02, R22, R27; Squirrel-W00, E81, W1, W2, W5, R00, R02, G12, G14, G17; Coffee Cups-E33, B41, B32; Log-E30, E33, E35, W1

I am submitting this to the first Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge - Snowflakes

and I generally used the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches #519 Challenge

Stay warm. Stay safe. Have a great week.

{The Cat's Pajamas} Bear Hugs

Good morning. As much as I like to make Christmas cards, I am glad to put the Christmas stamps away for a while and move on to the next big holiday which is Valentine's Day.

I have always loved the Bear Hugs image and was sad when it was retired several years ago. So glad that Alma has brought it back in digital form. And better yet, since it is now digital I can size it as I please. I did a little strategic erasing in my Silhouette Studio software and placed the partial sentiment inside the heart that sweet guy is holding. After printing the image I cut it out with a stitched die and colored with Copic Markers. I masked the bear, then blended olive ink to represent grass and broken china for the sky. Some pretty patterned paper for the background, an open heart from the Wonky Hearts Cutables (cutting files) and a festive double sided ribbon finished up the clean and layered design.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and Cut Files, Catherine Pooler dp, PTI cs, May Arts ribbon, Copic Markers
Copics: Bear-W00, E81, E40, E41, E42, R02, R05, E30, E33, E35; Heart-R30, R32, R35

Thanks for stopping by. Let's all stay safe and healthy everyone.

Playing Cards with Friends

I am starting off the new year by playing cards with my sweet and creative internet friend Michele @ I Card Everyone. We actually met in person several years ago when she came through Alabama. She is just as delightful in person as she is virtually. Here are the requirements:

  • New Year – New to You stamp  and a card for any occasion!
  • Never-before-used product
  • Any company welcome

The hardest thing about this challenge was to narrow down the stamp set. Sadly, I have lots of stamps and dies I have not used. I console myself by knowing that surely I am not the only one who purchases more than they can ever use.

Apparently I never met a The Greetery stamp or die I didn't like so that was the first place I looked for something never before used. And just as I suspected there were lots of opportunities there!

I used fresh pear, olive green and gathered twigs ink to stamp the branch of leaves from The Greetery Layered Leaves Stamp set and then cut out with the matching dies. This was the never before used set. I then stamped the main sentiment from the Comforting Commands set using lazy day ink onto a die cut piece from PTI which came from one of Betsy's fabulous mega Christmas kits. For the stitched background, I blended lazy day ink onto it then stamped the secondary sentiment using chocolate brown ink.

Products: The Greetery stamps and dies, PTI cs and die, Pinkfresh Studio, MFT, Ranger Distress and Simon Says ink

I hope the new year is off to a great start for you! Please stay safe and healthy. This thing isn't over yet.

Thank you Michele for inviting me to plays cards with you. You can find Michele's card here
