Snowmen ATC's

Hi there! I realize I haven't posted in several days but we had another October house project to complete last week, plus we had some great friends visiting from Michigan over the weekend.

This week's Tiddly Inks Challenge was to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card). I made two of them using paper from the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6 pad. The Tiddly Inks Frosty and Snowman's Friends images were printed onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut out. I added a bit of diecut paper, felt and bling to each card and a touch of Ranger Stickles. The Heidi Swapp circle bling on the corner of the first ATC was clear jewels until I colored with a Copic marker (BV11) to make them a soft lavender. On the second ATC, I did cut off the bird in one of the branch hands so I could thread through the felt star garland. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept of an ATC.  They are small, just 2.5x3.5 so digital stamps are perfect for them since you can easily resize. Normally, also included is your contact info, name of the card and a number such as 1 of 2,  1 of 3, etc on the back. They are usually created to trade with other artists; however, I don't really have anyone to trade with right now so I might include one in my artistic friend's Christmas card this year. Of course, if anyone reading this would like to trade please let me know.

Products: Tiddly Inks digital stamps, Cosmo Cricket dp, Heidi Swapp jewels, Basic Grey and Kaisercraft pearls, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Creative Imaginations felt trim, PTI felt and die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Snowmen-W00, W1, W2; Scarves/Hat-BV0000, BV00, BV01, BV11, BG0000, BG10, BG11; Cap-W2, W5, W7; Carrot Noses-E97, E99

As I said above, we are continuing with our October projects. Last week we cleaned our deck.  It's made of some type of composite material that was suppose to be maintenance free. As it has turned out, we've had to do more with this deck than we ever did with our treated wood one. In fact, we are included in a class action suit but you know how those things go.  We worked two days on it because we wound up doing a lot of it by hand since our pressure washer wouldn't start. We are really suffering from a rash of equipment failure around here including our vacuum cleaner. But at least that is a task I can check off the list for this month.  I am now also about 95% percent complete with my patterned paper reorganization. This week we are going to start on the basement. Fun times!

Have a great week!  I'll have another project for tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

Froggy Tales

I made this card during the Alabama-Florida game. I'm a nervous game watcher so it's this or chew on my fingernails! By the way, not only did we win but we won big! RTR!

I created this for the current Tiddly Inks Challenge to use a crackle finish or Diamond Glaze.  I printed the Tiddly Inks "Donna" image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock. I then positioned a piece of the patterned paper onto a sheet of plain paper and printed again so I could paper piece the umbrella portion. After cutting out the umbrella I squeezed a layer of Diamond Glaze onto it. I was happy to see that my Epson ink held up well against the water based glaze. I have never had a smearing problem with printing digital images either. I cut two layers of "grass" with a Martha Stewart punch temporarily adhering to the bottom of the image and then cut all with a Spellbinders Nestabilties. After cutting I removed the grass and added some Diamond Glaze to it as well giving it a wet appearance. I sponged the edges of the image piece while it was still in the die and then colored with Copic Markers. I assembled the card while the Diamond Glaze was drying. The umbrella was attached with a pop dot and glue under the bottom corners so it would curve.

Catch a Star

Today's project features a beautiful image by Tiddly Inks "Fairy Fae Catches a Star."  I wanted my card to have somewhat of an ethereal look so I chose patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather 6x6 pad. I printed the digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.  I then cut it out with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities, sponging the edges with ink while it was still in the die. I haven't notice anyone else coloring in a scarf on the fairy's hair but that's the way it looked to me. I added a few jewels to the stars in her hair as well the ones she is trying to capture. I found some fun old products in my stash too, the Scrapworks round clip and the Lil Davis glittery chipboard stars. It amazes me what I actually own sometimes! I followed the basic sketch for this week's Tiddly Inks Challenge. This also fits this week's Crazy 4 Challenges to use bling.

Catgirl II

This is the second time I've used this cute Tiddly Inks image.  I really reached far back into my Halloween stash for these patterned papers!  I love both of these companies, Doodlebug and Ki Memories.  Today's card is for this week's Tiddly Inks challenge to include an animal or pet.  Well this little cat girl is definitely not a pet but she is just enough scary cute for my young recipient.  I printed the Catgirl digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.

Happy Birthday

Today's card is a girly girl birthday card.  I printed the Tiddly Inks Cheery Q digital stamp onto Bazzill Basics Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. The Heidi Grace paper has been hiding out in my stash for a long time.  It feels great to put some of my older papers to work!  I created this for the current Tiddly Inks Challenge (birthday card or invite).  Hopefully I'll get this one in on time - had an oops moment last week with this card.

Tiddly Inks

Today's card fits this week's Tiddly Inks challenge which was to either create a fall or an end of summer card. Even though fall is just around the corner, now that it's a bit cooler here I am not yet ready to give up summer.  It's been pleasantly warm and and sunny here so I made this card with that in mind.  I printed the Tiddly Inks digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  I did some out of the box cutting with my Spellbinders Nestabilities. Some stitching, ribbon, pearls and buttons and it was done.

Bat Girl

I have another Halloween card to share today.  I followed this week's Sketch for You to Try for the basic design.  I used another digital image from Tiddly Inks, printing with my Epson printer onto Papertrey Ink cardstock and then coloring with Copic markers.  I combined it with some My Mind's Eye Halloween themed patterned paper from a couple of years ago.  The image included a bat but I covered it with a Making Memories paper bat and allowed it to go outside the box, adding two Kaisercraft jewels to represent eyes.  The fabric sticker is from last year's Little Yellow Bicycle Halloween collection and I colored the edge with a Copic Marker.

Lil' Witch

Good morning!  I hope all is well with you.  It's been a busy week here so far but yesterday afternoon I got the chance to sit down and create.  It is another Halloween theme day. Today's card follows the sketch at this week's Friday Sketchers blog.  I printed the Tiddly Inks image with my Epson printer onto Papertrey Ink cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. I cut the image with Spellbinder's Nestabilities allowing a portion of the witch's hat to continue outside the rectangle. I used some older Ki Memories patterned papers and chipboard corner as the main ingredients.

For my next card I used two of my favorite Halloween items from last year, Making Memories velvet frame and Pink Paislee patterned paper and then really mixed them up with several other manufacturers. I stamped the C.C. Designs Sweet November stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Basics Simply Smooth cardstock. I paper pieced the web dress and then colored everything else with Copic Markers. I cut the image out and then mounted to the backed velvet frame.

Cat Girl

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I'm getting an early start on my cards.  I have quite the nice stash of Halloween products as I just can't seem to resist the fun patterns and colors.  This card features a digital image by Tiddly Inks. I printed the image onto Papertrey Ink cardstock with my Epson printer and then colored it with Copic Markers. The Ki Memories paper is an oldie but a goodie and is one of my all time favorite Halloween lines. I followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the basic design.

Products: Tiddly Inks digital stamp, Ki Memories pp, PTI and Bazzill Basics cs, Making Memories epoxy star, buttons, ribbon and chipboard greeting, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

And on a personal note, I just want to say Happy Birthday to my sweet granddaughter Clara who turned 2 years old yesterday.  She is the joy of my life!  As you can see, I'm pretty sure I can turn her into a crafter too!

We'll be going to her birthday party at the park this afternoon. I can't wait to see her!

Isn't it Delovely?

I am loving the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely collection.  Such beautiful, vibrant colors. They make me smile just looking at them so of course I couldn't wait to get started.

First up is my contribution to this week's Taylored Expressions challenge. This is my first project using a digital stamp. I'm not exactly sure why I've been resistant to them.  I think the pure stamper in me was reluctant.  I don't really see myself ever converting fully over to digital but I will add them to the mix. I printed the Tiddly Inks image onto PTI cardstock using my Epson Artisan 810, colored with Copic markers and then cut with my circle Nestabilities, inking around the edges while it was still in the die. I used the matching sticker sheet for the small turquoise border and the circles at the bottom. I matted the floral circles onto cardstock and then mounted them onto the card with pop dots.

Next up is a simple scrapbook page featuring my granddaughter Clara. The fun bright colors in the DeLovely line really fit her happy personality.  On this particular day she was in our favorite place which happens to be anywhere outside, strolling her babydoll around!

That's it for today.  As always, thank you for stopping by.
