Witchful Thinking

As discussed yesterday, I realized that I was short on Halloween cards so I had to make a couple of quick ones this week. Today's card is the last one. I used an older The Cat's Pajamas set that was recently clearanced out, "Fright Night." I stamped the cute lil witch, masked her and then stamped the pot, both in Memento Tuxedo ink onto a label shape cut with a Nestie. I stamped the sentiment from the same set with Memento Tangelo ink and the smoke from the pot in Stampin' Up Smoky Slate. I colored the rest with Copic Markers although there wasn't much to left to color which is exactly what I needed as I was short on time. The paper came from a Pink Paislee pad from a couple of years ago and the gem clips are from an older Ki Memories collection. I kept things super simple due to time constraints.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps, Pink Paislee dp, PTI and Bazzill Card Shoppe cs, Ki Memories gem clips, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memento and Stampin' Up inks, Copic Markers
Copics: E000, E00, E11, YR30, YR31, YR23, YG21, YG01, YR20, YR24, YR27, C00, C1

Happy Halloween! Unfortunately, it's raining here and projected to be raining with the kiddoes hit the trick or treating streets tonight. I hope that doesn't mean I get stuck with all that candy! I love chocolate but I sure don't need it!

Hello Pumpkin

When I was addressing my Halloween cards on Monday I realized that I was short on the number I needed. I had already put away all my materials but the Glitz Design Raven pad was still in my 6x6 pads stack. I love it but I'm aware that I've overused it as it was the only new Halloween pad I bought this year. If you could see the box I stored you would know why I limited myself!

I started out by cutting the main image piece from patterned paper from the aforementioned Raven pad with a label shaped Nestie. I stamped the fence from the Reverse Confetti Spooky Cuties set onto it using Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink. I attached it to Stampin' Up Smoky Slate cardstock background piece that I embossed with the new The Cat's Pajamas Dots CutUps. and then matted with MFT Orange Fizz cardstock. I slipped a strip of patterned paper underneath the image panel and wrapped ribbon around it ending in a bow. I stamped the pumpkin from the same stamp set using Memento Tangelo ink and also the ghost in black, fussy cutting out. I layered them over a leaf cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves Dies. Lastly, I added the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Forever Fall set and a scattering of sequins.

It's been a busy day so far with a tree service here to help trim some trees down bright and early this morning, a quick trip to the doctor for me and then grocery store stop on the way home. We're about to get started on getting our yard ready for fall with a final mowing and trimming.

See you back here soon.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Simply Holiday

Welcome to the last of the sneak peeks for the latest TCP release. Tonight is the Pajama Party and then afterwards, the release and blog hop! More about all that later.

Since I had not yet used the fabulous new Ornaments CutUps yet, I combined them with today's new stamp set Simply Holiday. In order to show the versatility of both the sentiments and the dies I decided to make three cards with three different looks.

My first card features a retro theme. I used papers from the Basic Grey 25th and Pine to cut the ornaments with the Ornaments CutUps, adding a bow at the top of each one. A strip of ornament paper at the top provided a place to anchor the ornaments which were attached with dimensional dots. The sentiment from the Simply Holiday set was stamped directly onto the background with Memento Paris Dusk ink and then colored with Copic Markers.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Basic Grey dp, May Arts ribbon, Memento ink, Copic Markers
Copics: G0000, G000, G00

The next card features a more contemporary look. I first cut the ornaments from patterns in last year's My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland pad using the Ornaments CutUps and added gold metallic thread at the top of each. I cut the word Holiday with the new Celebration Toppers and after attaching to the card front, I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Holiday set just above it it using Stampin' Up Raspberry Ripple ink. I embossed the lower portion of the front with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and added a ribbon bow. Lastly, attaching the ornaments applying glue only to the two tops so they could swing out from the card base.

For the last card I wanted a more elegant look. I cut out the ornaments from silver metallic paper from American Crafts using the Ornaments CutUps, topping off with metallic fibers and string from my stash. I kept the ornaments plain as I wanted the silvery paper to shine through (very pretty in person although my photography doesn't really showcase it). I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Holiday set directly onto the patterned paper background panel with Grey Flannel Memento Luxe ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and then heat embossed. After attaching the ornaments, I added a smattering of sequins. The patterned paper came from last year's My Mind's Eye All is Bright pad.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Bounce Back

I'm back with another day of The Cat's Pajamas previews. Be sure to stop by the TCP blog to see a list of the Cat Pack participants who are showing you the Bounce Back set which features your favorite bunny. This time he happens to be a bit under the weather unfortunately.

I started out by making a "tissue" box cutting a rectangular shape box from patterned paper and then using the small oval shaped piece from the Circus Panels CutUps to cut an opening. I inserted a piece of real kleenex through the opening and folded it over. After coloring up the flu bunny image and adding a small bit of paper piecing for the scarf, I fussy cut it out and set it on top of the tissue box attaching both pieces to the background panel with dimensional dots. I added a sentiment flag and a scattering of buttons tied with twine some of which I matted with some left over dots from previous projects using Dots CutUps. It's the die that keeps on giving! I actually mailed this card to one of my husband's friends the day I finished photographing it as it seems that flu season may have already started.

After stamping one snowman and a few musical notes onto Copics X-Press It cardstock,I cut the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then colored with Copic Markers. I layered a piece cut with the new Dots CutUps over the back ground paper and then placed some contrasting dots intermittently in the holes. After stamping the sentiment onto a layered tag, I topped them off with a small bit of leftover ribbon and a snowflake. A smattering of enamel dots finished it up.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Go! Fight! Win!

I'm back with another day of The Cat's Pajamas previews. Be sure to stop by the TCP blog to see a list of the Cat Pack participants today who are showing you the Go!Fight!Win! set which features your favorite big eared bunny.

I am firmly entrenched in the mighty SEC conference. You know - that conference that has won the last seven National Championships, three of them by my school THE University of Alabama. It's so hard to be humble! Obviously the football bunny game had to be colored with Crimson Tide colors and afterwards I fussy cut out the image. I then cut an over sized ticket strip using the Big Ticket CutUps and stamped the edges with the matching Admit One set in Ranger Archival (Vermillion) ink. I then used a combo of stamps from Go!Fight!Win!, Admit One plus the Nightie Alphabet to decorate it, placing the bunny image on the first ticket. Here is the completed strip.

I then created my card background with a strip of Jillibean Soup red houndstooth patterned paper and Stampin' Up Smoky Slate cardstock, stamping the sentiment directly onto the panel. Lastly I attached the ticket strip after folding it accordion style, securing with a 7 Gypsies photo anchor for the recipient to find the secret message inside.

{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek} Vintage Holiday

Welcome to another day of The Cat's Pajamas previews. Be sure to stop by the TCP blog to see a list of the Cat Pack participants today who are showing you new and beautiful Vintage Holiday set. As an added bonus, some of the images from this set fit the Framed Up CutUps from the last release. And in the words of Martha Stewart, that's a good thing.

I started out by cutting cream cardstock with the largest piece from the Framed Up CutUps and then stamped the matching image onto it with Stampin' Up Pear Pizazz ink. I created the card background panel using several pattern papers from last year's Pink Paislee City Sidewalks pad. After attaching the stamped piece, I then added a large snowflake cut with the Snowflake CutUps, anchored with a button. I applied some Ranger (Diamond) Stickles on the edges of the snowflake for a bit of shimmer although it's difficult to see in the photo. A couple of more buttons and a twill bow added to the vintage look. You will definitely be seeing this stamp set again at the Pajama Party on the 28th as I love the vintage look for Christmas cards!
