{The Cat's Pajamas} A Gingerbread Holiday

Today's project is for Day 3 of The Cat's Pajamas 12 Days of Crafting. Be sure to check the TCP blog for all 12 days to see all the holiday projects created by the design team.

Gingerbread is synonymous with the Christmas holiday and the minute I saw the cute gingerbread spoon rest I knew I would use it with the ever so cute Whisk You a Merry Christmas set which is a combination of digital stamps and cutting files (svgs).

I made the tag from patterned paper and cardstock, then printed the sentiment and the gingerbread figures onto Copic X-Press It cardstock using Silhouette software. After coloring the boy and girl with Copic markers, I fussy cut them out. The sentiment was cut out with a cirlc die and  I blended antique linen distress ink on the edge.

All the pieces were attached to the tag using foam dimensionals. A gingham bow through the tag hole finished it up.

{The Cat's Pajamas} 12 Days of Crafting - Day 1: Gag Gift

Welcome to Day 1 of the 2022 12 Days of Crafting. For the next 12 days the Cat Pack team will post a craft project which we hope will inspire you to make one of your own. There are prizes up for grabs if you choose to join in (more about that at the end of this post).

My project is a small gag gift with a bit of lowbrow "Snowman Poop" humor in the form of white Tic Tacs. These are for my granddaughters and they will love the juvenile humor.

Using Silhouette software, I resized the snowman from the All the Trimmings digital stamp set then duplicated it and printed onto Copic friendly cardstock. I then cut into 3 x 11 inch strips and scored for a 5/8 inch bottom. After coloring the images with Copic markers, I masked the images and then blended on tumbled glass distress ink around them. A strip of patterned paper at the top of each piece provided some extra color.

After folding at the score lines, I punched a tag hole at the top.

To create the wrap for the Tic Tacs, I added double sided tape to the scored bottom and the back of the Tic Tac package and secured to the cardstock piece. I printed the sentiment onto cardstock, and cut out with a die and cut out another piece from green parakeet cardstock which can be used to add a name of the recipient.

I used ribbon to the two tags together which I also topped with a charm from a set that I purchased from Amazon. I threaded ribbon through the top holes, added the tag piece and tied together capturing the Tic Tac package inside. To add to the poop theme, I attached three small white felt pom poms to the front of the piece.

(The Cat's Pajamas} Halloween Gift Tags

Good morning. I have some fun Halloween projects to showcase today using digital stamps from The Cat's Pajamas.

For the witch tag, I combined the Witch from the Hide & Eek set and the Jack o' Lantern and Sentiment from the Hocus Pocus set using Silhouette software. For the second tag I combined Frankenstein from the Hocus Pocus set and the Moon Tombstone, Spider Web, Hanging Spider, Mound and Sentiment from the Hide & Eek set. The eraser tool was used to remove the moon from the tombstone and then I placed the sentiment on it. After I was satisfied with the arrangements, I printed onto Copic friendly cardstock and then cut out both images with a tag die. I used the matching frame tag die to cut from green parakeet and Hawaiian shores cardstock. Both tags were decorated with patterned paper, a button from my stash and the cardstock frames and then punched a hole in the top of each. Using the same tag set I used a larger die to cut a second patterned paper tag for each. I punched a hole on the two orange lunch bags I found in the card/gift wrap section of my local grocery store.

For the witch tag set, I threaded black ribbon through the tags and the front of the bag and tied in a bow.

The frankenstein set was attached with green grosgrain ribbon.

Bee Balm

Our small church group of women have been meeting for dinner every two weeks when possible during the summer for fun and fellowship. Last Thursday was our last dinner since we are transitioning to a fall church wide study in September. I used several different products to package up a Burt's Bees Lip Balm for each as a simple token of gratitude.

I worked in assembly line style so I first created the bees using The Greetery Honey Bees die set, cut from true black, harvest gold and white linen cardstock. I added a bit of color to wings with an E81 Copic pen and then assembled the bees.

Next I created the packaging using the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #1 Die which I elongated plus used some off the plate die cutting so I could fold up in order to secure the lip balm. I then created the cutouts using the My Favorite Things Lip Balm Window & Frame. I originally thought I would strictly use a yellow, black and white color scheme but at the last minute decided I wanted to add more color, thus the hawaiian shores frame. I used the Picket Fence Studios Hexagon Randomness Stencil with Aztec Sunflowers Paper Glaze Luxe to partially add the small hexagons and then lightly blended bright buttercup ink on the opposite side.

I cut the leaves from green parakeet cardstock using a die from The Greetery Summer Findings Die set and a flower from the Spring Findings Die set. I was a little "extra" by cutting the tiny flower center to match the lip balm cap. After attaching the bee, leaves and flower to each, I inserted and glued down the back of the  Lip Balm Pouches, added the lip balm, folded up the tag and tied with yellow cording.

Products: The Greetery, Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things dies, PTI cs, Picket Fence Studios Stencil and Paper Glaze, MFT Lip Balm pouches, PTI ink

Can you believe it took all these products for these tiny little packages?

Easter Treats {Picket Fence Studios}

Today's Easter themed packages were created for a group of women at my church. They are secularly decorated on the outside but the inside holds the true meaning of Easter including a handheld acacia wood cross. I also added a few pastel wrapped chocolate kisses and a bit of paper Easter grass.

I used lots of products as you can probably see. The image bases were cut from white cardstock using the dies from the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Die Cutting System. For the backgrounds I used a die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System for the "grass" on two of them and stamped Endless Clouds on another. All the line art images were stamped and cut with Eastertime stamps and dies and Chloe's Garden stamps and dies using the Black Hybrid ink pad. The sentiment based images were stamped using berry sorbet and hibiscus burst ink.

The diecuts for the sun and flowers were cut using the small dies rom the Slim Line Full Front Shaker Die

I finished up the image panels with pieces from the On an Egg Hunt Sequin Plus MixAfter filling the pillow shaped acrylic packages, I tied a ribbon bow around them including a cross charm, then added the strip of patterned paper and an image circle.

Products: Picket Fence Studios Stamps and Dies, Echo Park and Doodlebug dp; PTI and Bazzill cs, PFS Sequins, PFS and PTI ink, Copic Markers
Copics: (Happy Easter) Bunny Ears-E40, E41, E42, R00, R02; (Tall Girl Bunny) Bunny-W00, E81, R00, R02; Clothing-B41, B32; Flower-Y00, Y21; (Boy Bunny) Bunny-C00, C1, C3, R00, R02; Clothing-G20, G21, G24, W00, E81; (Girl Bunny Kisses) Bunny-E50, E51, E53, R00, R02; Clothing-YG01, YG03, B41, B32

{The Cat's Pajamas} Sweet as Sugar Easter Gift Packages

I am getting ready for Easter after a hiatus from crafting due to illness. It feels good to get back in crafty mode.  Working with such sweet images, colors and patterns automatically puts me in a good mood.

The Easter themed packages are destined for a group of shelter women who attend our church and these are the first two out of twelve I hope to complete.  Each contains a handheld acacia wood cross, a few chocolate kisses and a bit of paper Easter grass. Although they include secular images, inside represents the true meaning of the season of Lent.  And...bunnies are one of God's cutest creatures!

First up I printed the bunny from the Happy Easter Digi onto thin cardstock changing the color of the image to a soft teal using my Silhouette Studio software. I cut it out with a pierced die, then added a felt bunny tail, a flower cut from an older die and a couple of carrot clay pieces. I also printed the one of the patterns from the Happy Spring Digi Papers and then cut a strip from it. After filling the pillow shaped acrylic package, I tied a ribbon bow around it including a cross charm, then added the strip of paper and image circle.

For the second package, I printed the image from the Sugar, Sugar Digi, cut out with the same pierced circle and colored the image with Copic markers. I used another of the prints from the Happy Spring Digi Papers and tied a different ribbon around it also topped with a cross charm.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas digital stamps and papers, Neenah cs, Picket Fence Studios Sequin Mix, May Arts ribbon, Amazon acrylic pillow boxes, Amazon cross charms, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-E40, E41, E42, R10, R81; Basket-W00, E81, BG01, BG02; Eggs-YG01, YG02, Y00, Y11, R10, R81, BG01, BG02

Although the packaging is similar I want each one to be unique by changing up the images, ribbon and patterned paper. These women deserve to feel special and loved.

Are you getting crafty for Easter?

Cooking Up Some Sweets

I created these treat packages for the ladies in my small group at church prior to Valentine's Day and completely forgot to post them earlier.

I used The Greetery Bake Someone Happy Die and the Bake Someone Happy Stamp set to create these cute little ovens. These were actually a Christmas release but I thought they would make sweet Valentine packages also. I created them assembly style to help cut out down on the creating time.

I filled them with some heart shaped Dove dark and milk chocolates.

All the cookies and candy on the cookie tins came from the Baked Bits tin.

Products: The Greetery stamps and dies, PTI and SU cs, The Greetery embellishments, PTI ink

I really don't think I will be making these again so I am putting the die and stamp set on my sale page. (Update: this particular set is now sold)

Valentine Gift Packages

I wanted to give the three other ladies in my Discipleship Essentials guad a small Valentine gift for being so willing to be vulnerable and speaking their truths, good or bad. I found some sweet sock cupcakes on Etsy which was the kind of thing I was looking for. Sometimes you don't know what you want until you see it.

I started out by using the largest die from The Greetery Heart Leaf Posy Pocket die to cut the heart shaped leaves from white cardstock. I then used the smaller die to cut inside hearts from red and pink cardstock, placing them inside so they peaked out at the top. I closed them up with a bit of glue at the bottom and foam dimensionals inside to give them a puffy look. I cut the flowers from white, red and pink cardstock using dies from The Greetery BotaniCuts Forget-Me-Nots. Before attaching the dies I stamped the partial sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Huggable set using pure poppy ink. I punched holes in each leave to make it a hanging tag, added one of the forget-me-nots pieces around the hole, and threaded divine twine through it.

The sock cupcakes arrived with cute heart decorated cellophane envies but I decided to replace them with plain ones to show off the colors more. I tied with three pieces of ribbon, the tags and a small heart charm for a festive feel.

Here is a closer picture:

Products: The Greetery dies, Reverse Confetti sentiment, Amazon Heart Charms, May Arts Ribon, PTI ink

I am submitting these to the Color Hues #11 Challenge of red and pink and also The Card Concept#148 (Sweetheart Sweets) challenge.

Have a great weekend! Happy Valentine's Day!

{The Cat's Pajamas}March TCP Tuesday #366 Challenge

The March TCP Tuesday challenge is to include a Furry Animal (s) on your project. There are many furry critter images in the TCP Store although TCP products are not required. You have until the end of the month to complete a project and an added bonus is the $50 gift voucher some lucky artist has a chance to win.

I decorated a couple of small treat boxes for Easter. I will probably be doing a few more of these in the coming weeks. The treat boxes are premade ones I purchased from Amazon. I am involved in a mininstry that I need boxes quickly rather than taking the time to use my Silhouette or a die.

I stamped and die cut the bunny image using the Follow the Bunny Bundle released last month, then colored with Copic markers. The bunnies in this set are just quirky and fun enough for my tween granddaughter. I cut a square of pattered paper for the four sides and top using a die from the Stitched Squares & More set and adhered to the box. I then added the image on the front. I wrapped three stands of lime green cord around the top and tied in the bow. The sentiment was stamped onto a banner shape and I also cut a small banner for the name of the recipient, then both were tied to the bow.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Avery Elle DP, PTI cs, Hemptique cording, Altenew and Catherine Pooler ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-W00, E40, E41, E42, E44, R00, R01; Florals-Y000, Y02, Y17, R0000, R00, R02, R05; Greenery-YG01, YG11, YG25; Easter Eggs-G20, G21, G24, BG0000, BG000, BG01, RV10, RV11, RV13, BV0000, BV000, BV01

For the second treat box, I stamped and the bunny image using from the Sugar, Sugar set, colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. The box was decorated similarly to the first one.
