Protecting Freedom

Good morning. This is another "any hero" card for Operation Write Home. Our granddaughters, 9 and 11 have been visiting from North Carolina. They went home yesterday but they wrote me several "any hero" letters while they were here.

I again used a combo of Authentique Glory patterned paper with images from the Verve American Hero stamp set. I haven't used either of these very much and August for me is all about using my stuff. I used the sketch from the iSpy Sketch challenge blog (ISSC27) for the basic layout which also fits another of my August goals to do more challenges.

Products: Verve stamps, Authentique dp, My Favorite Things Die-namics, PTI buttons, Kaisercraft jewel, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: R24, R27, B91, B93, B95

I do not have a lot of design team assignments for the remainder of August and since during these dogs days of summer outdoor activities are a struggle I'm concentrating on indoor activities. I'm spending this month doing some challenges, a bit of organizing, using some neglected stamps and paper pads and getting an overdue package ready for Operation Write Home. Now I know you aren't interested in that but it helps to keep me accountable do document goals on my blog.

All That Scraps Review - School Hansel and Punkin Beatrice

Today is review day on the All That Scraps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the August release stamps and dies.

You Set My Heart A-Flutter (TCP Tuesday 222)

Good morning. Today's card is for TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES222) which is a technique/supply challenge from our hostess, Julie to use washi tape.

Washi tape is definitely on trend but I have to admit that I didn't have any until Julie's gave us the challenge. I found an Etsy shop that allowed you to basically make up your own assortment so now I have a nice variety of colors and patterns. I used two different strips to add some color to the white background panel for my image, and then pleated a border with yet another pattern. The stamp set is The Cat's Pajamas Tweet Hearts and I combined it with the Big Pinking Border CutUps. The sentiment was stamped onto the fishtail banner included in the Easy Rosettes CutUps.

Sweet November Preview - Pumpkin Fun

Welcome to day three of  August Sweet November previews. This release is all about Halloween and today's projects feature Pumpkin Fun.

Pumpkin Fun is a set of three stamps featuring various Halloween creatures sitting atop a different jack o' lantern. I created a card with Lucy, combining older patterned papers from The Girl's Paperie and last year's My Mind's Eye. I framed Lucy with a Halloween themed Martha Stewart paper doily onto a tag shape and then added some striped twill. The sentiment is from the also new Amy R Halloween Sentiment set although I parsed it down a bit.

Copics: Cat-N1, N3, N5, C9, YG91, YG93, YG95; Jack O' Lantern-YR12, YR14, YR16, YR04, YR12, YR23

Sweet November Preview - Gobsmack

Welcome to day two of  August Sweet November previews. We are celebrating Halloween and today's project features Gobsmack.

I pieced together the main panel with columns of  paper from the Pink Paislee Phantom 6x6 collection from last year and then added simple strips across the top and bottom. I wanted a clean and graphic look for this so I just added a couple of bottoms and the sentiment from the Amy R Halloween Sentiment set on a fishtail type banner as my finishing elements.

Products: Sweet November stamp, Pink Paislee dp, PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Goblin-W00, E81, C1, C3, C5, R00, R01, R02; Shadows-C00, C1, C3
