Countdown to Confetti - Forever Fall

I'm back as a guest designer with the second day of September Reverse Confetti sneak peeks. With fall just around the corner the Forever Fall set is right on time. This set will be available to purchase on September 8 along with all the other four new sets.

First of all I have to confess that I have splurged on several new patterned paper pads, including the one I am using today, Echo Park Fall. I cut the tag shape from one of the sheets from the pad and then stamped the sentiment from Forever Fall at the top. I inserted a couple of ribbons through the tag hole and secured with a button and some twine. I stamped the woodgrain border piece onto rustic white paper in Memento Grey Flannel and then layered it across the background panel and through the center of the tilted tag. I stamped two acorns and a pumpkin from the same set with Memento Rich Cocoa, Toffee Crunch and Potter's Clay inks onto three circle shapes cut and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I placed them across the woodgrain border and topped each with a button. Did you spot another new stamp set? I used the new Lighthearted Letters alphabet set to spell "y'all" onto a ticket shape and then attached it to the sentiment box stamped with an image from the Arrows 'n Elements set.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps, Echo Park dp, PTI buttons, May Arts ribbons, Bazzill Basics embossing folder, MFT Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memento ink

Countdown to Confetti - Count Your Rainbows

Good morning. I am so excited to be joining in on the Reverse Confetti previews for the latest collection, consisting of five fabulous new stamp sets which will be released on September 8. How did I get this gig? Well I will tell you. I was the August Sketch for You to Try winner. If I can win so can you. The current SFYTT is here.

Today I am using the new Count Your Rainbows set which is part of the Key Words Collection. I love this set and immediately jotted down at least five ideas for it the day it arrived in the mail. And I've thought of a few more since then. The hard part was deciding which one to create first.

I've actually had this group of papers put together for a while now just waiting for the right stamp to come along for them. I stamped the sentiment with Memento London Fog ink onto a tag shape, then added some die cut stars across the top, one of which I threaded the ribbon through before securing to the tag. I finished off the ribbon with baker's twine and a button and then added one more star to one of the background panels. A few layered pearls provided the finishing touch.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, PTI die and button, American Crafts ribbon, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps, Kaisercraft pearls, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Memento ink

That wraps it up for me today but I wanted to let you know one more thing. Leave a comment on each sneak peek for each designer September 5-7 for a chance to win a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate. Comments will close at noon CDT September 7 and the winner will be announced at 5pm on September 7th. A list of all the participating designers are on the Reverse Confetti blog.

C.C. Designs/Sweet November Preview - Circus

Welcome to another day of September previews for C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. The design team members are featuring the new stamps with a "circus" theme.

I usually do a separate post for Sweet November stamps as I am also on Amy, the illustrator's personal design team. I decided to do one post this time since I combined the new Sweet November Ellie with Christine's new Clownin' Around Meoples set for today's card, with one of the Meoples sitting atop Ellie. The circus tent was stamped and colored directly onto the background, all other images were colored and then fussy cut out. The sentiment came from the also new this month AmyR Circus Sentiments set. Since I had so many images involved I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

Products: C.C. Designs/Sweet November stamps, Fancy Pants dp, Doodlebug jewel, Copic Markers
Copics: Elephant-C1, C3, C5, N1, N3, R22, R24, R29, Y21, Y23, Y35; Circus Tent-W00, E81, Y21, Y23, Y35, R22, R24, R27, BG0000, BG10; Clowns-E000, E00, E11, R20, W00, E81, Y21, Y23, Y35, R22, R24, R29, BG0000, BG10, G40, G43, G46, YR12, YR14, YR04; Shadows-BG70, BG0000, BG000

Be sure to check out the project that my fellow design team member Tress has created.  Amy, the illustrator of the Sweet November line has a creative card to share with you and also outlines the details on a chance to win some blog candy. All you have to do is leave comments on each of our blogs.

This stamp along with the other September stamps and dies will be available for purchase at the C.C. Designs store Thursday, September 5 at 9am EDT.

C.C. Designs Preview - Pirate

Welcome to another day of September previews for C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. The design team members are featuring the new stamps with a "pirate" theme.

My card features a stamp from another one of the newer collections, Roberto's Rascals. I colored up Pirate Twila with Copic markers and then cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I combined this little cutie with papers from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 pad. I felt like I covered up too many anchors in the background paper so cut a half circle on the border piece to reveal the whole anchor underneath. I stamped the sentiment from the new Webby Words Pirate Sayings set onto a piece cut with the new Grunge Envelope Cutters. I finished up the card with twine, buttons and sequins.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp and Cutters, Studio Calico dp, PTI button, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20; Hair-YR30, YR31, E53; Clothing/Sword-W00, E81, R00, 01, R02, R05, R11, Y0000, Y11, Y15, N1, N3, N5, C00, C1, C3; Sand-E0000, E30, E31, E35, E57; Shadows-BG70, BG0000, BG10

This stamp along with the other September stamps and dies will be available for purchase at the C.C. Designs store Thursday, September 5 at 9am EDT.

C.C. Designs Preview - Fall

Are you having a happy Labor Day weekend? Our day will be very low key. We plan on grilling out and just enjoying a nice leisurely day. I am actually always a bit melancholy as Labor Day represents to me the unofficial end of summer. I'm not ready for it to end although I do love fall.

And speaking of fall, welcome to the first day of the C.C. Designs Rubber Designs September stamp release! We are trying something a bit different this month. Rather than previewing by collection we are doing them by theme. Today the Design Team members are featuring the new stamps with an "autumn" theme.

My card features a stamp from one of the newer collections, Monkey Feet. It is simply called Turkey. I went back to a coloring medium that I thought I had abandoned, Prismacolor Pencils. I realize now why I gave them up as they are much harder to work with than Copics. I took me a long time to color up this one small image. It didn't help that apparently when I stopped using them I threw away my color combo cheat sheet so there was a lot of trying out colors on scrap paper. You will have to let me know what you think of the results. I combined this bad boy up with papers from the W R Memory Keepers Happy Campers pad. The sentiment was computer generated and printed onto a piece cut with the new Grunge Envelope Cutters.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp and Cutters, W R Memory Keepers dp,  PTI buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Memento and Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Prismacolor Pencils

This stamp along with the other September stamps and dies will be available for purchase at the C.C. Designs store Thursday, September 5 at 9am EDT.

Dream in Color

Wow, August was a busy month creatively speaking. I'm hoping to slow it down a bit in September. That being said, I will have lots of projects for you over the next week between C.C. Designs/Sweet November previews starting Monday, September 2 and then right on into a guest design stint for Reverse Confetti starting Thursday, September 5.

Today's card is for this week's There She Goes challenge which was a sketch. I was happy to get a chance to use the There She Goes Dream in Color set as was languishing around in my un-inked bag. I paired it up with one of my many new pads from Glitz Design, Finnley. Holy smokes - I love this pad. So colorful it makes me smile just flipping through it.  After coloring with Copic Markers, I fussy cut out using a wooden skewer to curl up the edges.

Products: There She Goes stamps, Glitz Design dp, Darice sequins, Memento and Stampin' Up inks, Copic Markers
Copics: YG0000, YG01, YG03, N1, N3, N5, N7, R32, R35, R37, BG0000, BG10, BG11, G12, G14, G17

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!!
