{The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek and TCP Tuesday} Peace, Joy & Penguins

There are lots of exciting happenings at The Cat's Pajamas including a brand new website and a new blog! And top it off today is the first day of The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks. We have seven days of previews so be sure to check  The Cat's Pajamas blog everyday to see who is on the schedule. There are seven fun new stamp sets and three new CutUps so we have a lot to share with you. Today we are introducing Peace, Joy & Penguins.

It is also TCP Tuesday. This month the challenge is an anti-embellishment one - you can use a maximum of two embellishments but they cannot be buttons, twine or gems!

I started out by creating my tag base first cutting the edge of a piece of white cardstock with the also new for this release Celebration Toppers CutUps. I then cut the piece into a tag shape so that the cutout ran up the left edge. Next I stamped the Peace, Joy & Penguins image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I used the matted image as the centerpiece to the tag, just adding an additional strip of patterned paper with a small heart at the top. After attaching the tag piece to the card background panel, I repeated the same strip of paper behind the sentiment which was stamped with Ranger Archival ink(Vermillion). I cut a heart using the Heart Trio CutUps and topped it with a snowflake left over from another project using the Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps, slipping it underneath the sentiment. Lastly, I added a couple more snowflakes matted onto small circles for the finishing touch. Although I normally love lumpy embellishments, I am really liking that it turned out so mail friendly.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, Lawn Fawn dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, Memento and Ranger Archival inks, Copic Markers

Make Every Moment Count

I have a masculine card today which I created for my step son-in-law's birthday recently. I started out by cutting a tag shape from a subtle patterned paper from the Fancy Pants Collecting Moments pad. I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Count Your Rainbows set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink at the bottom, adding a strip of patterned paper for separation purposes. I cut another smaller tag from patterned paper, tying the two together with a bit of cotton twill ribbon anchored with a button. I added a chipboard clock piece to tie the theme together. A couple of enamel dots completed the design. I am submitting this for the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club It's About Time theme.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps, Fancy Pants dp, Jenni Bowlin chipboard clock, My Mind's Eye and Teresa Collins enamel dots, May Arts twill, PTI button and cs, My Favorite Things Die-namics, Memento ink

That's it for this Thursday. I hope you are having a great week.

C.C. Designs Review - Santa's Coming Tonight

It's review time on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps blog and I am joining other members of the design team in showing you more projects using the October release stamps and dies.

My card features Santa's Coming Tonight from the Roberto's Rascals collection. I colored this sweet Christmas scene with Copic Markers, combining it with papers from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas pad. I kept the design simple so not to take away from the main image. The glittery stars were cut using the C.C. Designs Christmas Accessories Cutters. I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the ornaments on the tree and Ranger Frosted Lace Stickles to the snowflakes.

A Zombie Birthday {October TCP Tuesday}

TCP Tuesday for October is in full swing. Remember that even though it is a monthly challenge, you can enter as many times as you want. This month's challenge is to use no more than two embellishments on your card but no buttons, twine or gems.

I love embellishments so this was a hard one for me. Choosing to work on a masculine card helped though as I normally use a simpler style for them. The Mwah! set on the surface might seem like a strange choice for a birthday card! But zombies are huge right now and my son's favorite show is "The Walking Dead" so I decided to incorporate that theme in his birthday card. I first cut the Copics X-Press It cardstock with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then stamped the image twice both of which run off the edges of the paper. As per usual, I colored with Copic markers and then combined the image with paper from the Glitz Design Dapper Dan pad. I stamped the sentiment from Small Sayings onto a piece cut with the Talk to Me CutUps. Note my only two embellishments are a couple of My Mind's Eye enamel dots. I decorated the inside of the as well by stamping a row of zombies all the way across and then doing a bit of zombie-like alteration of the sentiment from the One Cupcake set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and CutUps, Glitz Design dp, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers
Copics: Skin-E41, E41, E42; Clothing-W00, E81, E84, E87, B93, B97, B99, C00, C1, C3, N3, N5, G21, G24, G28

Here are the details to the challenge:
  1. The first Tuesday of the month Alma will post a challenge on the Dancing in Pajamas blog. The challenge will also be posted on the TCP Splitcoaststampers forum and on the TCP Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design right on the Dancing in Pajamas blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of this blog so you don't have to search around). If you want to display your pretties on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUESOCT13.
  3. The Challenge will be a month-long challenge and you can play as many times as you like during that month.
  4. Cards and projects must have at least one Cat's Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die in the project.
  5. On the First Monday of the Month a winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and crowned Swanky Stamper.
  6. The Swanky Stamper will not only be acknowledged as the Swankiest Stamper for that month, but will also receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. AND... They'll even get a special spot in the Gallery highlighting the project that won them the gig AND as snazzy badge to display on their blog.
  7. The winner will be announced the First Monday of the month on Splitcoaststampers, Facebook page and the TCP Blog.

Every Beautiful Thing {October Reverse Confetti Blog Hop}

It's the 8th of the month that means it is time for another Reverse Confetti blog hop. I'm joining the fabulous Confetti Crew along with several other 'Fetti friends today.

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog and you should have made it here from Lisa's blog. If you did not then it would be worth your while to start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing. There are so many creative projects to inspire you.

My card for the hop features the Count Your Rainbows set from the latest release. I started out by cutting a tag shape from patterned paper and then stamped the sentiment onto it with Memento Luxe ink (love this stuff!). I added a bow secured with a button at the top. I cut the squares, matted them and then arranged them on the background. I anchored each with a button and then attached the tag in the center. The paper is all from the Glitz Design Finnley pad. I think I've mentioned before how much I love this paper.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamp, Glitz Design dp, American Crafts ribbon, PTI buttons and cs, Verve die, WPlus9 die, Memento Luxe ink

Now it’s time to hop on over to Savannah’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog.

Don't forget to leave a comment on each stop along the way for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate for some new Reverse Confetti goodies. Comments are open until Thursday, October 10th at 2pm CST, and the winner will be announced on the Week in Reverse post on the 11th over on the Reverse Confetti blog!

Live.Laugh.Love (October Sketch For You To Try)

Good morning. How is your October going so far? It's still warm here but very pleasant which makes me feel energetic and in the mood to get things done.

Today's card is for the October Sketch for You to Try (#5). And look-a-here....I didn't use a single scrap of patterned paper. Gasp! I'm not sure I like it though so I expect I won't be doing that very often! Besides, I adore patterned paper. Now on to the details. I stamped an image from the Reverse Confetti Whole Lotta Dots three times with VersaMark onto Stampin' Up Smoky Shadow card stock, then sprinkled matching Smoky Shadow embossing powder over it and heat embossing for a tone on tone look. For the remainder of the stamping I used images from the Peacock Pretties set. I stamped the circles with Memento Dandelion Luxe ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the feather with Memento Blue Danube ink and then fussy cut out. I used the same ink for the sentiment that I cut up into the individual words placing on and around the circles and anchored with a sequin. Before placing the various stamped elements I dry embossed a dotted chevron embossing border.

Products: Rerverse Confetti stamps, Stampin' Up cs and embossing powder, Coordinations, Bazzill Bascis and PTI cs, Lawn Fawn sequins, Cuttlebug Charles embossing folder, Memento ink

That's it for today. I hope you are having a great weekend!!

C.C. Designs "Toys for Tots" Blog Hop

Welcome to the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps Toys for Tots Blog Hop! I am so excited you could join us for the preview of Henry Claus and I Want That which are both from the Roberto's Rascals collection. C.C. Designs will donate 30% of the sales of these two adorable stamps to Toys for Tots from today October 4, 2013 to December 23, 2013.

I am passionate about the Toys for Tots program and participate in this campaign or the Salvation Army Angel Tree (or both) each year. So of course I leaped at the chance to join in on this blog hop. How awesome is it that by purchasing these stamps you are not only  receiving some fabulous images that you can use for many years while helping others at the same time?

If you have arrived here from Dena's blog you are in the right place. If you didn't you can start the hop at the C.C. Designs blog.

My card features the I Want That stamp. This image makes me smile. It reminds me of the winter I spent working and living in New York City on a temporary contract. It was so fun to go around and gaze in wonderment at the elaborately decorated storefront windows. I colored up with Copic Markers and then fussy cut around the frame, matting it onto a dark red cardstock square. I kept the layout and embellishments simple with a scattering of sequins and and holly leaves cut with the Holly and Berry Cutters.

Products: C.C. Designs stamp and Cutters, Lily Bee dp, Kaisercraft pearls, Darice sequins, Copic Markers

Thank you for hopping along with us and I hope you consider purchasing one or both of the featured stamps for a great cause! The fabulous Christa is your next stop on the hop.
