The Cat's Pajamas July Release and Blog Hop

It is release day at the The Cat's Pajamas! Three new stamps and four new dies are now available in The Cat's Pajamas shop. We are celebrating the release with a blog hop. If you arrived here from Michele's blog then you are right on track. Otherwise start at the beginning on Wendy's blog.

I stamped the image from the new Oh Buoy set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. To prepare the image panel, I used a die from the Holiday Window Duo CutUps to cut from white cardstock, then sponged some clouds onto the top portion of it using a stencil and tumbled glass distress ink. I used the new Rollings Hills die to cut two pieces from green parakeet cardstock and added to the bottom portion of the image panel. The colored image as well as two arrows cut from kraft cardstock using the new Arrows CutUps were attached using foam tape. The background was created with a patterned paper and white cardstock cut with the new Liners CutUps. The sentiment from the new One Liners set was stamped with kraft ink.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI dp, Neenah, PTI and RC cs, Ranger and MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, B40, E41, E42, E44, R20

My second card is a clean and simple one. I used the new Liners CutUps once again although I cut only the straight edges eliminating the heart or star icon. The liner strip was cut from patterned paper. I stamped the image from the Watercolor Basics set with daffodil delight ink then stamped the flower image from the new Critter Camp set in black and the sentiment from the Simply Said set onto the liner strip. The panel was attached to a soft stone card base using a layer of craft foam. A trio of enamel dots provided the finishing touch.

Celebrate the Season

This is my first Christmas card for the year and the Color Throwdown #503 Challenge colors of red, green and gray just happened to fit one of my favorite Christmas color combos.

I stamped up the two snow people from the Reverse Confetti Cool Friend set, cut with the matching dies and colored with Copic Markers. I placed them on a patterned paper panel cut with a die from the RC Stitched Squares set using foam tape and added a cloud from the same die set anchored with a heart diecut. A few strips of patterned paper provided the simple background and the sentiment was stamped directly on the card base.

Products: Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, Reverse Confetti and Doodlebug dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, Copic Markers
Copics: C00, C1, R00, R02, R20, R22, R24, R27, YG0000, YG01, YG13, W1, W2

Have a great rest of the weekend!

In Sympathy

Good morning. Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card for a church member who recently lost her husband after a long illness. I admit that I struggle with this type of card.

I stamped the flowers from The Stamp Market Fun Florals set in frosty pink, coral berry, ruby red and jet black ink and the leaves in frayed leaf and forest glades. All were cut with the matching die. I prepared the image panel by stamping the bottom in black ink using an image from the The Stamped Market Striped set and cut the cutout using a Papertrey Ink Shape Shifters die. I backed the cutout with black cardstock and added the flowers to the panel using foam tape. The sentiment came from The Cat's Pajamas Simply Said set. A few enamel dots finished it.

Products: The Stamp Market stamps and dies, The Cat's Pajamas stamps, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, Papertrey Ink die, Altenew, Memento and Simon Says ink

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

The Cat's Pajamas July Sneak Peeks

It's The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek Week! We have three new stamp sets and four new dies. The Arrows CutUps is a free-with-purchase die set. All the new products will be released on July 31 in the TCP store.

I am kicking off the first of seven days of Sneaky Peek week. Each member of the design team will be taking turns sharing creations. The oh-so-talented Christine is up tomorrow but you can always check The Cat's Pajamas blog everyday to see who is on the schedule.

First up is a card featuring the super cute new Critter Camp set. I stamped the goofy little dog image in the set onto Neenah cardstock, cut it out with the matching die from the Critters CutUps and colored with Copic markers. I then stamped the second image in black and the sentiment inside it in pure poppy ink and fussy cut out. I attached the sentiment banner to the dog using foam tape. To create a background for the pooch I used the Spring Tag Duo set to cut from soft stone cardstock and subtle gray patterned paper for a tone on tone look. A simple patterned paper strip to the card base and a few matte finish enamel dots finished up a clean and simple card.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Doodlebug and MME dp, PTI cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT and PTI ink, Copic Markers
Copics: W00, E81, R20, N1, N3, N7, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7

My second features the new storybook set Oh Buoy. After stamping the image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I dry embossed the new Arrows CutUps twice onto an iced aqua circle then attached the stamped image onto to it using foam tape. To prepared the background I added a patterned paper edge onto which I stamped the sentiment using wisteria ink. After attaching the image to the card front using a layer of craft foam, I added a couple of arrows cut with the Arrows CutUps and layered with a small enamel dot.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Doodlebug dp, PTI and MFT cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, MFT and Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Bunny-W00, E81, R20; Bike-BV00, BV01, BV02, BG10, BG11, BG23, Y21, C00, C1, C3

For the last card of the day I started out by cutting the background panel from white linen and soft stone card stock using the new Liners CutUps. We have a new One Liners sentiment set debuting in this release but I went back to an older set Simply Said to stamp the sentiment on the liner strip. Several sentiments from this set will fit onto the strip so you have plenty of options.  I cut the butterfly from mist cardstock using the Lacey Butterfly CutUps and cut the doily from textured cardstock using the Lacy Floral Doily CutUps layering the butterfly on it using foam tape.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI and Bazzill cs, Doodlebug enamel dots, PTI Rainstones, Simon Says ink

Thinking of You and a Sale @Purple Onion Designs

Good morning. I have another card using Purple Onion Designs stamps. It is my privilege to work for one of the nicest people in the industry. Michele has been in business for a remarkable 15 years and she is celebrating with a 25% off sale until July 22.

With a bit of masking I stamped up Oscar (fox), Camp Fire and Marshmallow Stick onto Neenah cardstock, cut out with a stitched circle die and then colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment from the Essential Thoughts Sentiment set was stamped directly onto the image panel. I mounted the image using a layer craft foam onto a scalloped circle then attached to a woodgrain white panel decorated with a strip of patterned paper. A few enamel dots finished up a clean and simple masculine card.

TCP Tuesday #348 Reminder

Today's card is my second one for the TCP Tuesday #348 - Summer Challenge. The theme is perfect for me as I just returned home from a fabulous beachy vacation in St. Simon's Island. I loved our time there but there really is no place like home.

When I think of summer, I see happy colors, rainbows and lots of sunshine so I got busy cutting using the Chevron CutUps to create a very colorful background from cardstock in a ROYBGIV design. I then stamped the various sentiments from the Sending You set using several colorful inks onto a tag cut with a die from the Luggage Tag CutUps. After cutting a second tag from purple cardstock, I tied the two together with ribbon and attached to the panel using foam tape.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, PTI and MFT cs, PTI ink

You have until July 31 to submit a project for this challenge so you have plenty of time. Link up here. You do not have to use TCP products and there is a $50 gift voucher up for grabs!
