The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday Challenge (#377)

Hello and welcome to the last TCP Tuesday Challenge here at The Cat's Pajamas. Yes, that's right. This is the last challenge. We've enjoyed your participation over the years and thank you so much.

The March TCP Tuesday Challenge is to use florals on a project which can be achieved with floral stamps, dies and/or patterned paper. TCP products are not required but encouraged. You have until the end of the month to submit a project and there is a $50 gift voucher up for grabs.

I stamped and cut out three of the flowers using the Still Live Bundle then watercolored them using the same color going from dark to light shades.  I attached the flowers to a die cutpice cut with the Oval Scroll Duo from white cardstock then black paper for the backing. The sentiment from the Simply Stacked Sentiment set was stamped directly onto the panel.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies, Reverse Confetti dp, PTI cs, Ranger watercolor cs, Altenew ink

Here are the details for the TCP Challenge:

  • Each month a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.
  • If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button provided.
  • You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  • On the day of the next challenge the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $50.

Valentine Gift Packages

I wanted to give the three other ladies in my Discipleship Essentials guad a small Valentine gift for being so willing to be vulnerable and speaking their truths, good or bad. I found some sweet sock cupcakes on Etsy which was the kind of thing I was looking for. Sometimes you don't know what you want until you see it.

I started out by using the largest die from The Greetery Heart Leaf Posy Pocket die to cut the heart shaped leaves from white cardstock. I then used the smaller die to cut inside hearts from red and pink cardstock, placing them inside so they peaked out at the top. I closed them up with a bit of glue at the bottom and foam dimensionals inside to give them a puffy look. I cut the flowers from white, red and pink cardstock using dies from The Greetery BotaniCuts Forget-Me-Nots. Before attaching the dies I stamped the partial sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Huggable set using pure poppy ink. I punched holes in each leave to make it a hanging tag, added one of the forget-me-nots pieces around the hole, and threaded divine twine through it.

The sock cupcakes arrived with cute heart decorated cellophane envies but I decided to replace them with plain ones to show off the colors more. I tied with three pieces of ribbon, the tags and a small heart charm for a festive feel.

Here is a closer picture:

Products: The Greetery dies, Reverse Confetti sentiment, Amazon Heart Charms, May Arts Ribon, PTI ink

I am submitting these to the Color Hues #11 Challenge of red and pink and also The Card Concept#148 (Sweetheart Sweets) challenge.

Have a great weekend! Happy Valentine's Day!

The Cat's Pajamas February TCP Tuesday Challenge (#376)

The February TCP Tuesday challenge is to use patterned paper on a project. Use a little, use a lot, either way is fine. TCP products are not required but encouraged. You have until the end of the month to submit a project and there is a $50 gift voucher up for grabs.

I decorated three small treat boxes for Easter gifts for my Discipleship Essentials quad. The treat boxes are premade ones I purchased from Amazon here. I I cut the lambs from the new Lamb/Bunny/Chick CutUps from white and black cardstock and patterned paper for the faces, then assembled. I chose the lamb to represent the Lamb of God. I added Easter whimsy by cutting grass using a die from the Grassy Patches CutUps on three sides and "hid" Easter eggs cut from cardstock and patterned paper using dies from the Easter Basket CutUps. I cut a square of pattered paper for the back sides and tops using a die from the Stitched Squares & More set. The lambs were attached to the fronts of each box. A sentiment banner tied with either ribbon or twine was tied at the top of each box along with a cross charm. The sentiment came from the cute and quirky Follow the Bunny set.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Stamps and Dies, Hobby Lobby, Doodlebug and Echo Park dp, PTI and RC cs, Hemptique twine, May Arts ribbon

First Christmas Card of 2021

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to get my Christmas card completed for January. I have promised myself I will get at least one completed per month until closer to July when I will have to step it up. Hopefully the post office will not be in such disarray this holiday. Fingers crossed.

I stamped the image from the Stamping Bella Santa and His Reindeer onto Neenah cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. Apparently the stamp is retired which is rather embarrassing since this was the first time I have used it. I cut the image out using a die from the Simon Says Wavy Scalloped Stitches set along with a stitched rectangle die. I also used the rectangle die to cut a bottom border from patterned paper. I stamped the two sentiments from the Simon Says Tiny Words Christmas set onto two small cardstock flags which were tied together with cording and a couple of tiny bells.

Products: Stamping Bella stamp, Simon Says Stamp sentiment stamps, Doodlebug dp, PTI and RC cs, Kat Scrappiness bells, Hemptique cord, Simon Says die, Sakura Gelly Roll pen, Altenew ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Santa Skin-E00, E01, E13, R20; Beard-C00, C1, C3; Clothing-R20, R14, R17, W00, E81, N1, N3, N5; Sleigh-R20, R14, R17, N1, W00, E81, C1, C3; Gifts-YG01, YG03, W00, E81, R20, R14, R17; Reindeer-R30, R33, R37, E40, E41, E44; Ground-W00, W1; Sky-BG0000, BG11

I am submitting this for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Anything Goes and also tagging it for the #getcrackingonchristmas challenge.

I hope January has been good to you.

I cut the lamb from the new Lamb/Bunny/Chick CutUps from white, black and pink cardstock and assembled. For the background I used the fence die from the Slimline Suburbs CutUps to cut from soft stone cardstock. For the grassy hill, I used the curved die from the Slimline Basics CutUps to cut a hillside from patterned paper. Before attaching to the white card front, I used the Great Outdoors stencil (oos) and harvest gold and aqua mist ink to create the clouds and raindrops. The sentiment from the new Sun Please set was stamped using harvest gold ink onto a piece cut with the cloud die from the Slimline Basics CutUps,
