Happy Birthday Ethan!

I am sure that you have heard of the recent rescue of little five year old Ethan held in an underground bunker in South Alabama for six days by a mentally ill individual. Thanks to the heroic efforts of local law enforcement and an elite FBI Rescue Hostage team, he is safe and sound and celebrated his 6th birthday last Wednesday. I made this card for him - it's a bit late - but I'm sure Ethan is okay with celebrating his birthday for a few more days.

I kept things simple with a bicycle stamp from Maya Road and then added a Studio Calico wood die-cut. The birthday sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas Birthday Bunny set and all the paper is from a new paper pad My Mind's Eye Boy Crazy. I generally followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO279) for the layout although I flipped it to portrait.

Products: Maya Road stamp, My Mind's Eye dp, Studio Calico wood diecut, Basic Grey button, Spellbinders Nestabilities

If you would like to send a card to Ethan, you can do so at:
Ethan
c/o NFPD
400 Headquarters St.
Napier Field, AL 36303

It does not necessarily have to be a birthday card. Be sure to include your city and state (and country if outside the USA) on your card so he will know that there are good people all over the world.

C.C. Designs Preview - Masterpiece

Welcome to the last of the February previews for All That Scraps. Today we are welcoming a brand new designer Olga and Alexey.

Today's card features Masterpiece which I colored up with Copics and then cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I combined this sweet image with papers from the Pebbles Family Ties 6x6 pad, selecting the more pastel colors with just a splash of the dark purple for contrast. A big bow and a couple of buttons were my only embellishments.

Have we made you ready for Easter yet? I have been ready for spring since right after Christmas. Mother Nature appears to have other ideas though!

TCP Tuesday is Back!!

***This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my Sweet November for All That Scraps project.***

After a long hiatus, TCP Tuesday is back. Only, we've changed it up a bit and the details are at the bottom of this post - along with a special surprise!

To kick things off we have a supply challenge for you. We are challenging you to bring out your existing The Cat's Pajamas stamps and dies and use them in a new and creative way. For example, if you primarily use your stamps for cards, how about changing it up a bit to use them on a home decor piece or a scrapbook page? Or, if you have a TCP stamp set or die that has not been used before pull it out and use it! Or use a stamp set in a way in which it was not originally intended which is what I did with my card.

I had one stamp set from the last release that I didn't get a chance to use during the preview week which was The New Nice set. Although the sentiments were all Christmas related, I didn't let that stop me from making a birthday card instead. I colored the gifts in a variety of happy colors and then cut out the image, attaching it to the embossed circle. I then went in search of another set that had a birthday sentiment. I found one from the Birthday Bunny set and it was stamped onto one of the pieces from the Circus Panels CutUps. The sawtooth border was cut with the Big Pinking Border CutUps.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamps and CutUps, My Mind's Eye and Simple Stories dp, Craft Concepts embossing folder (Hexagon Illusion), Spellbinders Nestabilities. Copic Markers
Copics: BG0000, BG01, BG53, YG0000, YG01, YG23, YR0000, YR01, YR12, R01, R02, R05, W00, E81

So, here's the scoop.
  1. The First Tuesday of the Month Alma will post a challenge on her blog. The challenge will also be posted on our Splitcoaststampers forum and on our Facebook page
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design on Alma's blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of her blog so you don't have to search around)
  3. The Challenge will be a month-long challenge and you can play as many times as you like during that month.
  4. Cards and projects must have at least one Cat's Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die in the project.
  5. On the First Monday of the Month a winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and crowned Swanky Stamper.
  6. The Swanky Stamper will not only be acknowledged as the Swankiest Stamper for that month, but will also receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. AND... They'll even get a special spot in the Gallery highlighting the project that won them the gig AND as snazzy badge to display on their blog.
  7. The winner will be announced the First Monday of the month on Splitcoaststampers, Facebook page and Alma's Blog

And now for the surprise.

Sweet November Preview - Herschel

Welcome to another day of Sweet November previews for All That Scraps. The theme this month is Easter and today we are featuring projects using Herschel.

Since this was a boy card, I tried to keep things as simple as possible. That's hard for me because I love frou frou! Herschel was colored with Copic Markers and then matted onto paper from the Echo Park This and That Charming 6x6 pad. The sentiment is from the also new C.C. Designs Eggstra Special Sentiments and I stamped it across two Easter eggs cut with the new Eggs Cutters.

Sweet November Preview - Esther

***This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my C.C. Designs Preview card.***

Welcome to first of three days featuring Sweet November previews for All That Scraps. The theme this month is Easter and today we are featuring projects using Esther.

Esther was so sweet and delicate that I thought she would be perfect for a small round card. I started out by cutting the card base with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then created a scene featuring paper from the Pebbles Sunnyside 6x6 pad. The fence was cut with the C.C. Designs Four Seasons Fence Cutters. Before adhering the fence I wrapped "vines" cut with a MFT flourish die around the back of it. After attaching Esther, I completed the scene by adding a flower cut with the C.C. Designs Phlox Cutters.
