Bee Mine

I haven't been doing a lot of challenges this summer but in my quest to create something with my never before used Lawn Fawn stamps I have a project for the Tag You're It Challenge (#27).

I have several of the small sets in my stash and today I am using the Bee Mine set. I was inspired by the tag on tag look of the inspiration piece as well as the cute critter. I used the WPlus9 Timeless Tags 2 die set to cut the largest die from patterned paper then the medium one from Neenah cardstock. I stamped the bee image and a partial sentiment on the white tag, then placed it on the larger tag and stamped the heart shaped flight pattern across both. The remainder of the sentiment was stamped onto the largest tag and I colored the little bee with Copic Markers. I added baker's twine in each of the tag holes and then attached to the prepared background using craft foam. A small heart shaped enamel dot and a small piece of washi tape finished it up.

Happy Fall

Good Saturday morning. Although I do Christmas cards throughout the year, it still seems odd to be doing a card with an autumnal theme as if I am wishing the summer away. Even though it's been hotter than you know what, I still love summer and have no desire for it to move on. Ask me again later on in the month and I might have changed my mind though! I am submitting this card for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge with a theme of Orchard and it also means I have one more of my Lawn Fawn sets out of the "new" box.

I stamped the tree trunk from the Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather stamp set with Dark Chocolate ink, the leaves with Potter's Clay, Peanut Brittle and Catkin inks and the apples with Wild Cherry. I then cut out with the matching dies from the Sweater Weather Lawn Cuts. I stamped the small leaves background image with Morocco ink onto a rectangle cut with a Lil Inker Designs stitched mat. All images were then attached with craft foam. The sentiment was stamped onto Tangy Orange cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image piece was attached to a patterned paper background.

I am doing a bit more crafting these days (beyond my design team work) as I've been physically limited to what I can do elsewhere. I suppose there is a bright side to everything if you look for it.

Hello, Bonjour, Hallo {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's project feature stamps from Purple Onion Designs.

I first stamped the Hello Noteblock onto plain white cardstock using Hero Arts Ombre ink, cut out and then matted onto patterned paper from the WRMK Happy Campers pad. After wrapping cording around the noteblock and securing with a button, I attached to the background panel using craft foam. I then stamped Shadow (owl) and the Log (both from the Stacey Yacula collection) onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. Both images were attached to a circle with foam tape then the finished piece was attached to edge of the noteblock panel.

Peace On Earth

Today's card is for this week's Merry Monday #168 Challenge to create a card using pastels and I am also submitting it to the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge.

I created a shaker card by using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mat rectangle die to cut the top piece from white cardstock and then again from craft foam. I then used a LID Stitched Mat circle die to cut the center from both pieces. I cut the shaker mat piece from Sno Cone cardstock sprayed with Hero Arts Unicorn White opaque ink to represent snow. The shaker was filled with white seed beads and pink sequins. I then stamped the group of trees from the Paper Smooches Warm Hearts set and cut with the matching die from the Warm Hearts Icons set.  After coloring with Copic markers I attached to the shaker front with craft foam. The sentiment from the A Blessed Christmas was stamped with Pool Party ink.

{The Cat's Pajamas} TCP Tuesday Color Challenge

It's time for another TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas and I am your hostess this week with a color challenge. The challenge runs for two weeks and The Cat’s Pajamas stamps are not required.

I stamped the octopus image from the new Seas the Birthday set onto watercolor paper  cut with the matching free Cutables that Alma provides with each release. I also cut a rectangle from watercolor paper using a Spellbinders Nestie and then used the I used the watercolor on acetate smooshing technique using Faded Denim Distress ink to represent the ocean on the rectangle and Mustard Seed and Pickled Raspberry on the octupus. I cut plain white cardstock using the He Said, She Said die set (which is free with a $65 purchase). and then used the same Nestie to cut to fit the the image panel. I stamped the sentiment onto it using Blueberry ink. I added a double banner at the top using water colored leftovers and then anchored with a matted enamel dot. The background paper came from the Fancy Pants pad and I used the Dots CutUps to emboss the background panel.

Praying for You

Good morning. I have another faith based card today for the Viva la Verve July Week 5 sketch.

When I first saw this sketch I was concerned about how to break it down to the simplest form in order to match up with my more clean and simple style. After staring at the sketch for a while I remembered that I had a stitch die in the Paper Smooches Stitched set. I embossed the straight stitch across a white textured panel mimicking the background strips. I like the effect so you may be seeing it again! I then cut a circle from Berrylicious cardstock using a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mat die, stamped the sentiment from the Verve Floral Notes set with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the smallest poppy image from the Floral Notes set onto Copics X-Press It cardstock and then cut it out with the matching die from the Floral Notes Die Set. After coloring with Copics, I attached to the edge of sentiment circle. I added some fake splatters to the background piece using stamps from the MFT Abstract Art set using Orange Zest ink which I stamped off once before stamping on the background. The sentiment circle and floral piece were attached with craft foam. With this card I have completed all five Viva la Verve sketches this month.

You Warm My Heart

Today's card is for this week's Merry Monday #167 Challenge to include a heart on a project. It's been a very long time since I've had a chance to play in this challenge. And although I have deliberately reduced my crafty time this summer in order to get some things done around the house the fact is I need to put some stamps to work. Plus, frankly I haven't done very many Christmas cards this year. I am going to be very unhappy when December comes around and I don't have enough cards to mail out.

I also just preordered some of the new Lawn Fawn stamps which should be in my hands the early part of September. In looking in my stash, it appears that I have several of the LF stamps set that I have not used yet so I am going to rectify that before the new ones get here. I did actually use the Lawn Fawn Snow Day set last year but only a few of the images so I still consider it new. I stamped the tree line with Sour Apple Ink, the heart with Vermillion ink and the scarf and two bunnies onto Copics X-Press It cardstock. All the images were cut out with the matching Snow Day dies and  I colored the bunnies and heart/scarf with Copic markers. The background block was prepared with white cardstock and patterned paper and the sentiment was stamped with vermillion ink.  I added a cloud in the sky portion of the panel which was cut with The Cat's Pajamas Stitched Clouds CutUps. All the images were attached with foam tape as was the image panel when attached to the red cardstock mat.
