Psalm 46:1

The first thing I want to say is that my heart, my thoughts and my prayers are with the state of Oklahoma. We here in Alabama know all too well the heartache and devastation a tornado can cause. This week has brought so many bad memories of two years ago when a group of tornadoes ravaged our state, including the small one that came through our neighborhood, that I've really had to stop watching the constant news. But that does not mean that I am not praying or thinking of those affected and making as much of a monetary contribution as my budget allows.

I've been so super busy with design team projects that it seems like a really long time since I did a card for no reason other than I just wanted to use some new stamps and new paper. I did go in search of some challenges and wound up finding two so this card is pulling double challenge duty.

Verve's Diva Challenge this month was to use stars and/or stripes with the optional challenge to make the card clean and simple. I've done all three with this card, using the Deconstructed Sketch 101 for the layout. I used the Verve Psalm 46:1 Plain Jane stamp as the centerpiece. I think this scripture is always appropriate but particularly so right now. I stamped it with Memento Paris Dusk ink onto a circle cut with the Spellbinders Nestabilities. I added a star cut with The Cat's Pajamas 3x3 CutUps and the flourish cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics. The paper is all from the My Mind's Eye Kate and Co. Oxford Lane 6x6 pad and this is the first time I've had a chance to cut into it. I love the clean, fresh colors.
