You are in My Thoughts {Picket Fence Studios}

We've had a nice weather break here in Alabama. I hope things are looking up in your part of the world too.

I adore the PFS Butterfly Stencils. They are a great way to make an impact on a card but yet they are so easy. I sprayed the back of the  Wander Butterfly Stencil with Pixie Spray. After it dried I used three of brushes from the Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend cheeky, blush and pucker ink onto a stitched edge cardstock rectangle. I then used the Tile Montage Stencil to partially apply Paper Glaze onto each wing. I layered flora cut from white cardstock using dies from the Layering Florals: Leaves and Twigs set adding color to one piece using Copic markers. Lastly I added a sentiment from Carnation Flower Garden which was stamped with pucker ink, cut with the matching die and attached to the card front using foam dimensionals.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, dies and stencils, PTI cs, PFS Paper Glaze, Simon Says ink, Copic Markers
Copics: R00, R02, R05

Have a fun and safe New Year's celebration and I'll see you back here in 2023.

Thinking of You {Picket Fence Studios}

Good morning all. I hope you had a blessed Christmas holiday.

Considering this terrible winter weather we've had across the county even here in the south, I am thinking in terms of "hurry up spring" with today's card. I first used blended spun sugar ink over the new A Whole Lot of Polka Dots 6x8 Stencil for my background. I then stamped the largest floral from the previously Carnation Flower Garden, cut out with matching die and colored it with Copic markers. I also stamped the sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments using new leaf ink and cut out with the coordinating die. I used both dies to cut out a foam layer in order to attach to the card front for added dimension. A scattering of sequins from the also new All About the Pinks Sequin Mix provided a bit of sparkle.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps, dies and stencil, PTI cs, PFS Sequins, PTI, Ranger Distress and Memento ink, Copic markers
Copics: Florals-RV00, RV52, RV55, G12, G14, G07

We here in the south are finally getting a break from the extremely cold weather. We are not prepared for it like other parts of the country. My prayers go out out to all those suffering.

Peace, Love, & Paws

I am slowly getting my Christmas cards mailed. A colonoscopy yesterday cost me a whole day so time is of the essence at this point. I am trying to slow down and enjoy the season but it's hard when I have so much more to get done. Today's Christmas card is another one created I created for a dog loving family.

I used the candy canes and dog image from the (apparently retired) My Favorite Things Peace, Love, Paws stamp and die set all colored with Copic markers. I attached both to a shaker tag I created with the also retired MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 4 die set filled with sequins from the Picket Fence Studios Grand Fir Trees Sequin Mix. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip style tag and attached to the shaker with cording. The background panel patterned paper is from the Newton's Nook Canine Christmas pad.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and dies, Newton's Nook dp, PTI cs, Hemptique Cord, PFS Sequins, Altenew ink, Copic Markers

Picket Fence Studios December 2022 Release

It is release day at Picket Fence Studios and we have some really fun products that are available for purchase now.

We are celebrating the release with an Instahop on Instagram. If you want to participate in the Instahop start @picketfencestudios. There is a fabulous prize in play so be sure to check it out. You have until Saturday, December 18, 2022  at 11:59 CDT to participate. One winner will be randomly selected and announced on Sunday, December 18th, 2022, on the th@picketfencestudios Instagram Account.

As much as I love to make Christmas cards, it was fun to take a break from the Christmas colors. The minute I saw the new My World Revolves Around You stamp in my design team box I knew that I wanted to create a sunshine filled card. I stamped it directly onto the card frot using bright buttercup ink, then stamped again with Versamark ink and clear heat embossed. I then stamped the previously released A Sunflower onto Copic friendly cardstock using espresso truffle ink, cut out with the matching die then colored with Copic markers. I trimmed the image for an off the panel look and attached with a craft foam. The sentiment was stamped onto a green parakeet cardstock strip using Versamark ink and white heat embossed. A scattering of the new All About the Yellows Sequin Mix added more sparkle and sunshine.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and die, PTI cs, PFS Sequins, Memento, PTI and Versamark ink, Copic Markers

My second card is another simple one even though I used a lot of new products. I created the background first by using the new A2 Pierced Blanket Cover Plate to cut from white linen cardstock. I stamped the new Oh, Baby Baby using grapefruit ink onto sweet blush cardstock, then cut out with a circle die. The frame was cut from stardust cardstock with a die from the new Nesting Rings Dies set. I offset on the panel and trimmed to fit.  I used the new A Little Note Word Die to cut from white linen and sorbet cardstock for a inlaid look and attached with a layer of craft foam. Lastly I used several dies from the new Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs to cut from forest and white linen cardstock, slipping underneath the diecut sentiment.

Products: Picket Fence Studios dies, PTI, Concord & 9th and The Stamp Market cs, Concord & 9th ink

I will share more projects from this release throughout the month. Now go to @picketfencestudios to start the Instahop.

Merry Christmas

Good morning. I know November was light on projects but between my eye surgery and the death of my sweet aunt there just wasn't much time and frankly not much motivation. Not that December has been much better creatively but I need more Christmas cards so expect to see a more active blog.

I joined the Spellbinder Stamp & Die Club in the fall and today's card features the October set Wonderful Christmas for today's Christmas card. After stamping the largest image from the set onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. I then cut and assembled the bird from the Tweet Cardinal die set. I attached the image to a stitched edge linen cardstock piece and stamped the sentiment directly onto the panel using cherry kisses ink. The bird was attached with a layer of craft foam.

Products: Spellbinders stamps and dies, PTI and The Stamp Market cs, Altenew and The Stamp Market ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Poinsettia, R20, R22, R24, R27, R29, Y13; Leaves-YG21, YG23, YG25; Berries-R22, R24; Flowers-Y00, Y11, Y21, BG0000, BG000, BG01; Pine-YG61, YG63

Holly Jolly Christmas {Picket Fence Studios}

As part of Picket Fence Studios Christmas Countdown, I have a holly filled card to share today.

After stamping the oversized image from the Holly Jolly Christmas set onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. For the background panel, I repeated the image by stamping onto a cherry kisses stitched edge cardstock piece using Versamark ink along with the sentiment and white heat embossed both. The stamped die cut was attached to the panel using a combo of glue and foam dimensionals. A few sequins from the Dancing Reindeer set added a bit of tone on tone sparkle.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamp and die, PTI and The Stamp Market cs, PFS Sequins, Altenew and Versamark ink, Copic Markers
Copics: R32, R35, R37, G21, G24, G28

Happy Pawlidays

I make Christmas cards all year long, really stepping it up in July. I don't normally make them with specific people in mind; however, I do have several pet lover's on my mailing list so I made cards specific to them. You will see them over the next couple of weeks.

I stamped the dog and holly from the My Favorite Things Peace, Love, Paws set and the gift from the Happy Pawlidays set onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut with the matching dies and colored with Copic Markers. I then cut the tag from linen cardstock using a die from the Dress My Craft Stitched Tag #2 set and added a bit of patterned paper from the Newton's Nook Canine Christmas pad. I placed the dog, gift and holly onto the tag using foam dimensionals. The tag was then attached to the cardstock and patterned paper background. The sentiment was stamped direct to paper using cherry kisses ink.

Products: My Favorite Things stamps and dies, Newton's Nook dp, PTI cs, Altenew and The Stamp Market ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Dog-T3, T5, E31, E33, E35; Reindeer Ears-W1, W5; Gift-BG000, BG01, R22, R24, R27; Holly-R22, R24, YG01, YG25

{The Cat's Pajamas} 12 Days of Crafting - Day 1: Gag Gift

Welcome to Day 1 of the 2022 12 Days of Crafting. For the next 12 days the Cat Pack team will post a craft project which we hope will inspire you to make one of your own. There are prizes up for grabs if you choose to join in (more about that at the end of this post).

My project is a small gag gift with a bit of lowbrow "Snowman Poop" humor in the form of white Tic Tacs. These are for my granddaughters and they will love the juvenile humor.

Using Silhouette software, I resized the snowman from the All the Trimmings digital stamp set then duplicated it and printed onto Copic friendly cardstock. I then cut into 3 x 11 inch strips and scored for a 5/8 inch bottom. After coloring the images with Copic markers, I masked the images and then blended on tumbled glass distress ink around them. A strip of patterned paper at the top of each piece provided some extra color.

After folding at the score lines, I punched a tag hole at the top.

To create the wrap for the Tic Tacs, I added double sided tape to the scored bottom and the back of the Tic Tac package and secured to the cardstock piece. I printed the sentiment onto cardstock, and cut out with a die and cut out another piece from green parakeet cardstock which can be used to add a name of the recipient.

I used ribbon to the two tags together which I also topped with a charm from a set that I purchased from Amazon. I threaded ribbon through the top holes, added the tag piece and tied together capturing the Tic Tac package inside. To add to the poop theme, I attached three small white felt pom poms to the front of the piece.

I printed the Gingerbread Latte Gnome onto Copic friendly cardstock using Silhouette software. I then used a stitched landscape die to cut both sides of the gnome image and fussy cut out the rest.

I prepared the background using a snowflake stencil blending the various snowflakes with green parakeet, Hawaiian shores and buttercup inks and added a few red berry Nuvo drops. After coloring the image with Copic markers, I attached to the card front using a layer of craft foam. The sentiment was printed onto white linen cardstock, then cut with a retired TCP die. I created a trio of tags featuring  Winter (penguin), Otto (baby seal) and Balsam (owl) which were all stamped onto Copic friendly cardstock, colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I used the Simon Says Ornament Options die set to showcase these cuties. The images were attached with foam dimensionals. I blended on new leaf and green parakeet ink onto the leaf trios, attached to the tags pieces and added a couple of tiny gold tone bells. Joy {Picket Fence Studios}

I have one more card using products from the October Picket Fence Studios release.

I used the Joy Word Die to cut from gold metallic card and then again from craft foam, then layered the two pieces together. I also stamped one of the angels from the Angels Sing to the Newborn King cutting out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. I trimmed off the bottom portion of the image, then inserted in the opening of the "o". I placed the piece onto a linen cardstock background with a black pearlescent cardstock strip. A few sequins from the Black Tie Affair Sequin Mix finished up the clean and simple card.

Products: Picket Fence Studios stamps and dies, PTI cs, Michael's metallic cs, PFS Sequin Mix, Altnew ink, Copic Markers

This was a big release of both Christmas and winter themed products. Normally I do more projects but I simply run out of time before my retina surgery. Not to mention I had a lot of anxiety about the surgery and found it hard to concentrate.
